“You…You’re think you’re a Yuki-onna?” Sakurai asked watching the guy in front of him wondering if somehow he had gone mountain crazy. In the inn Aiba had seemed to be a bit of a harmless air head, his smile had been too easy and Sakurai was positive that he had seen him skipping a few times as he had followed him up the mountain, but he hadn’t seen any signs that he was insane until now. “Aren’t you a little too male to be a Yuki-onna…”

“Um…Sort of I said…My mother…I guess you could call me a Yuki- otoko” Aiba said with a nod and a giggle that simple smile on his face again. It really was beautiful that smile Sakurai thought before shaking his head, wondering how his cock could be taking so much of an interest at a time like this.

“Oh your mother is a Yuki-onna…” He said tilting his head to one side while rolling his eyes. If he hadn’t seen the two missing men in the living room he was positive that Aiba and the old coot from the inn had set this all up as a joke.

“Yes…Yes…You believe me?” Aiba asked hopefully his lips forming a smile now showing his straight white teeth and for some beguiling reason Sakurai thought that he should just say ‘yes’ and roll with it at least for one night deciding that it could be worth his while. He pushed that thought away as fast as it came, feeling sick that he had even though that and he took a quick step away from the other man and folded his arms across his chest resting against the fridge.

“No… Of course I don’t believe you…” He snapped and Aiba’s face fell in on itself and he lot out a long lingering sigh and his played with his bangs with his fingertips

“Oh…I hoped you would…But I can understand that you didn’t ne…You’re a modern city man…I bet magic doesn’t come into your world a lot…” He breathed with as much thoughtfulness as Sakurai suspected that he was going to get. “But it’s the truth though Sho-chan…I am the son of a Yuki-onna and…Her blood runs through my veins…”

“And those men just appeared here?” Sakurai asked sarcastically, though he was beginning to suspect that Aiba really did believe the things that were coming out of his mouth.

“Yes…” Aiba nodded his head rocking backwards and forwards almost frantically “I didn’t want them too! But when the landside happened…I guess that they didn’t die straight away and they ended up here because of my magic…”

“They just popped up here because of your magic?”

“Yes!” Aiba cried “Will you please stop repeating me? I know what I said!”

Sakurai studied the cute face as he said that, honestly wondering if it was crazy that he wanted to laugh at those words, if he really knew what he was saying then he wouldn’t be saying things like that. A thought struck him then, and he rubbed his chin thoughtfully asking,

“Aiba-san…How long have you lived alone on the mountain?”

“Um…For about 30 years…” Aiba answered thoughtfully and Sakurai had to admit that he blinked then, Aiba looked no older than 19 or 20 for him to believe that he had been here alone for that long meant that there were a lot of deep rooted issues. There might even be abuse going on here “My parents vanished 30 years ago so I moved back here…”

“Aiba-san how is that possible? Think about it…You’re only 19…20 at the most…How could you have lived on the mountain for 30 years…”

“I’ve lived on the mountain for over 60 years! I’m not human Sho-chan…I’m a half demon…A Yuki-onna or Yuki- otoko...The snow is getting heavy again, you should stay for the night… The mountain won’t let you leave anyway…”

“I’m leaving...” Sakurai snapped though one look out of the window told him that Aiba was right, the black sky was thick with large puffs of snow. He had to get out of here and inform the police.

“You really shouldn’t but…If you insist take the flower on my coat…” Aiba sighed, his voice sounding hurt and confused and Sakurai wondered how he thought that he had the right to sound that way. He stormed out of the kitchen, passed the living room and the two men on the bed whom had woken now and were looking at him with shocked expressions on their faces.

“Don’t worry I’m going to get help…” Sakurai told them shooting a scathing look at Aiba who had followed him with a worried expression on his face.

“Aiba-chan is helping…” One of the men rasped out with so much conviction in his voice that Sakurai did pause looking at him “He…Saved us…”

“He may have saved you…But now he’s keeping you here prisoner…Don’t you understand, sir…” Sakurai said wondering if their brains had been addled after their accident or if that had come later from Aiba. “I’m going to get help, and then get you off this mountain…”

“They can’t leave…” Aiba said sadly from the doorway and Sakurai tensed, feeling like he was getting more evidence. He was starting to be glad that he had been sent here…Or he would be if he could get away. This was the kind of thing that could really make his career. The prime minister’s grandson and body guard kidnapped and held hostage in the mountains by a mentally abused villager. He could see the headlines, and he could almost taste the reward, there was a chance that it could mean his own T.V show.

“What do you mean they can’t leave?” Sakurai asked the boy who had come further into the room now and was shaking his head his eyes shadowed and there was no sign of his bright cheerful smile either.

“…They owe me a life debt…Its so silly really…” Aiba answered still with the sad tone as he went to sit on the double bed in between the two men. He gave a sigh looking at the two men apologetically “I wish I could just send them back but…It doesn’t work like that…”

“Oh…And how does it work, Aiba-san?” Sakurai asked carefully deciding, for an entirely different reason than his brain had thought of earlier, that he should play along for the time being. Aiba didn’t seem like he was about to hurt him or the two men that he had ‘Saved’ but you couldn’t be too careful.

“The landslide…When it fell on them, they didn’t die straight away so the magic in the mountain brought them here and my magic saved them…But you see, Sho-chan…They were meant to have died but because they didn’t…They owe me…The rule is so old it’s stupid but there are some rules that even Half breeds have to follow…”

“And…What happens if you don’t follow the rules, Aiba-san?”

“Then…The magic in the mountain won’t work anymore and more and more people will die…”

“You will hurt them?” Sakurai asked sharply, deciding that that was the only thing that fit. If Aiba was ‘saving’ people then he would be the one that hurt them.

“No! I’ll be dead…” Aiba said shaking his head and Sakurai’s eyes widened when he saw that the prime minister’s grandson reached out and held his hand and the bodyguard gave a murmur of protest. His eyebrow lifted to his hair line as he wondered if it was possible to get Stockholm syndrome after only two days. “The mountain’s protection magic is my magic…”

“So for it to continue working they both have to honour the life debt?” He asked and Aiba looked thoughtful for a moment and then hummed shaking his head.

“No…I guess…If one took on both life debts I could let one of them leave…” He answered and Sakurai had the best (or worst) idea he had ever had

“So how about if I took on…Both of their life debts?” He asked thinking that he had the better chance of escaping later. “By what you just said…I could do that couldn’t I? I could take on both of their life debts?”
