“…I think that you will be fine from now on…” Nino announced with a smile moving away from the bed and looking at the advisor. Jun’s face was settled into scowl but Nino wasn’t expecting anything else and he continued to smile as he hummed softly “Though I do recommend some more time relaxing to recover fully…”

“Right…” Jun growled in the same way that he had been speaking to him throughout his time in the castle and it was something that Nino was used to but Masaki lightly hit his arm looking affronted on his behalf as he huffed in a surprisingly sweet voice;

“Jun-chan! You can be so mean sometimes! Take-kun saved your life…”

“It’s okay, I’m just glad that he’s around to be mean…I’ll see you later…” Nino grinned moving away from the bed his mind filled with images of Ohno waiting for him in the bath. He had made it to the door when he heard Jun clearing his throat and calling out softly;

“…Take-san…Thank-you…”

“You’re welcome Matsumoto-san…” Nino grinned giving him a small bow before jerking his head in the direction of Masaki who gave him a small apologetic smile. Nino wondered what was going to happen between his friend, Jun, and Sho. It was clear that the innkeeper and the advisor had formed some kind of bond and he doubted that either of them had talked about it with Sho yet and he was trying hard to figure if there was a way that he could word it when Sho came to ask him what was happening. He let out a sigh and then left the room the object of his thoughts catching up with him a few feet from Jun’s door looking for all the world as though he had been purposely waiting for him.

“Take-san…? May I speak with you?” The general asked looking pale with panda shadows around his eyes “I promise that I won’t be long…”

“…If you would walk with me to the bathhouse?” Nino agreed trying hard not to laugh at how quickly he had been brought to his worst fear. Sho agreed with a nod his fingers mussing up his hair before he gave him a tense smile that held very little humour or even genuine happiness and Nino felt a pang of guilt and understanding for the man. It wasn’t his fault that Masaki and Jun had a lot of history and Jun’s near death experience had rekindled desires.

“How is Matsumoto Jun?” He asked the name coming awkwardly out of his mouth and Nino swallowed not completely sure how to answer and he settled for the doctor’s staple saying;

“He is stable…”

“Dead is stable…”

“…He is recovering…” Nino sighed watching a complex array of emotions swirling around behind his eyes “In fact in a few more days he should be his old self again…”

“That is something that we should be thankful for at least…” Sho ground out eventually the small smile slipping away “…And Masaki…He has been helping you take care of him…?”

“Masaki and Matsumoto-san…They…They have a history together it seems; they knew each other when Jun was still living at Matsumoto castle…” Nino whispered wishing that he had some better news for the man that clearly doted on Masaki. “…Sakurai-san…I…I know that he loves you, just as you love him but you should talk to him…Please…”

“I will try…”

Poor Sho-chan. He is probably at his wits end by now.

Meanwhile I'm glad at least Jun has something he would be indebted to. Masaki proably beat him up over the fact that Jun isn't supposed to treat his saviour mean. Haha..

Thank you!
