Keep the Faith part 31
Mar. 22nd, 2016 10:52 am“Okay so tell me about it?” Jun asked as they settled down into his games room and Nino blinked fearfully as he looked up at his boyfriend thinking that he was asking about his abuse. He had told him and that should have been enough he didn’t want to go into details “You know about your religion…I know you have meetings and you do weird prayers but is that all there is?”
“Oh…Right…Th-that…” Nino spluttered his heart swooping with thankfulness that he wasn’t being asked about that. Jun blinked slowly for a second before his eyes widened and his mouth dropped open in horror as his skin took on a pasty looking sheen.
“Shit…I didn’t mean…Not that…I mean…”
“I know...” Nino breathed with a smile moving so he was sat in his lap with his arms circled around his neck drawing him into a hug “What do you want to know?”
“Do you worship the devil?” Jun asked wriggling his impressive caterpillar like eyebrows in his direction and Nino gave a snort of laughter shaking his head as he thought about his answer. His religion was a strange one and most people did tend to lump it all in with devil worship but that was mostly because how it was portrayed. In Europe it had been thought of as devil worship at some points, his so many-great-grandmother had been accused of witchcraft because she and her family refused to go to the new church.
“No! He doesn’t even exist! We worship the earth…Mostly, what we call our church is a clearing out in the middle of the forest…” He sighed closing his eyes and resting back against Jun’s chest wishing that he could explain it a whole lot more than he was doing “…But there’s also the sky…And water…You know…Things that we need to survive…And we spend a lot of time asking the light to protect us…I suppose you could think of it like a church group…We meet up once or twice a week pray together and catch up…And we’re all supportive…”
“So how do you join?”
“You turn up at the meeting or you’re introduced by family…My grandma first took me when I was baby…But I only really got into it full time a few years ago…” He breathed thinking of just how accepting everybody had been. Nobody asked questions not even when the saw the marks on his hand or his pale face they had simply let him sit and listen. “In the meetings we all bring food or drink and it normally turns into a picnic in the forest at midnight…”
“Maybe I should come…” Jun chuckled his nose rubbing against his skin a little by his ear and Nino tried hard to fight the shiver of happiness that crawled its way over his skin.
“Can never say no to free food…” He laughed poking his boyfriend in the stomach to hide his excitement “You don’t have to and you don’t have to understand it as long as you don’t poke fun…” Nino sighed remembering all his so called school friends that had poked fun at him. He hadn’t even been an active member back then, like most kids as you had to be sixteen to join most of the meetings but the group had held family days out and he had always gone to them with his grandparents. “Some of them may be a little loopy but they’re my family…”
“And that’s why I want to come…” Jun told him a whisper “I promise that I won’t poke fun...it seems really interesting…”
“Fine, you can come…” Nino muttered making a mental note to tell his grandmother about it “It’s on Monday night…I’ll get my grandparents to pick you up…But now…Let’s go out…To the cinema…My treat…”

A/N: Nino’s religion is my religion so I’m happy that people are interested…Though honestly it’s not really all that exciting >.<

Date: 2016-03-27 12:55 am (UTC)Woman appear to be the main focus of our belief system but it is just because we are the ones most like the maiden the mother and the crone ( though my leader is currently a man xD he is the first man to hold that position) the energy flows through women easier than it does a man.
In some aspects I believe that buddisim is the most similar to our belief in that you have to live each stage of life as well as you can before you can finally achieve the highest state of being
I'm really bad at explaining this without coming across as a hippy which I'm not..,not really >.<
