He supposed that a lot of it may have stemmed from the anger that was flowing through the older man’s veins as he looked at his shell shocked advisor “Fortunately my little Nino has proven to be rather tenacious and followed me home…The subterfuge with his name is my doing...Nino is from a special hidden village who specialise in medicine and development for our glorious emperor…”
“…My lord…You…You did not treat him as lover when he first came…” Jun pointed out taking a step back and looking at Nino with even more suspicion than ever before. It seemed that nothing was going to take away from the mistrust that Jun had built up over the years, not even the word of his lord. Nino couldn’t blame him though the elaborate lie was something that seemed impossible and deeply far-fetched.
“Of course not…I was angry with him for risking his life to come and be with me during this time…” Ohno scowled in Nino’s direction his eyes hard but Nino was positive that he could see spots of amusement within the dark brown orbs that told him how much Ohno was enjoying himself “As he insists on staying with me no matter how many threats I have given I have no choice but to keep him safe…And I hoped that my order would have you see to that…Jun I have no knowledge of what happened to make you so bitter and twisted in all that is good and pure but that you let it fester in your heart…That is your doing, my brother, and nobody else’s…”
“…My lord…I was merely acting in your best interests…I had no idea…”
“In my interests? When I had already told you that I was my will to have Nino safe from harm…How many times have you threatened him?” Ohno growled advancing towards the man that seemed to have shrunk as well as paled his eyes were dull and fearful now while his mouth was hanging open. Nino imagined that he had probably looked the same when he was in the store cupboard
“…My…Lord…I…”
“He hasn’t threatened me…” Nino whispered slowly speaking for the first time since Ohno had arrived and judging from the look that was on his face it was clear that he didn’t believe him. “Okay he has but only because he was worried about you…Like he’s meant to because of his job…So don’t be so hard on him…”
“I do not need you speaking for me…” Jun growled and Nino gave a shrug keeping his eyes fixed on Ohno as he reached out and held his arm.
“…Satoshi…He’s just doing his job, he’s your friend…Your brother through marriage you shouldn’t glare at him so much…I would be upset if he didn’t suspect me…” Nino mumbled with a tight smile trying hard not to show how nervous he had been earlier. “We did lie to him…”
“Very well…Jun…I am sorry that I didn’t trust you with this…But I am not a man easily in love nor in trust…Please forgive me as Nino has forgiven you…”
