Nino sighed as he looked at the candle which was flickering in the window. Jun’s window was higher than his own so it was impossible for him to kneel in front of it but he placed his hands on the wooden window frame so that his fingers dipped in the water that he had spilled into two pools on either side of the strong candle. The window had been opened slightly giving him a small breeze. He had taken out the small silver ring his grandmother had given him served as his metal base and a stone from his bag that he always carried was his focus. The stone was one that Jun had given him when they had first started hanging out together, nothing special just a stone that could be found in any garden up and down the country but the silky near purple side was beautiful to look at and it worked well as a focus stone.

“What are you doing? There’s pizza!” Masaki shouted his mouth full on the pizza that he had brought with him and Nino let out a near growl forcing his eyes closed as he tried to drown out his most annoying friend. He still couldn’t work out if he was angry or relived that Masaki had interrupted his weekend alone with Jun. He was leaning towards relived simply because he was still unsure about their new relationship and he really couldn’t be blamed as he didn’t know. “Ni-No-Ch-an! Pizza!”

“Masa…Leave him alone…He’s praying…” Jun put in softly and Nino couldn’t help but allow his lip to twitch with happiness at the gentle concern his friend always showed to him and his religion even if he didn’t understand it. Nino opened his eyes again and focused on his stone allowing the feel of his breathing to relax him as the candle flickered a couple of times in the wind that came in through the window and Nino sighed whispering;

“Thank You Great Goddess for all the good that came to me during this day, for the blessings and the lessons that came my way some harsh, some light but all fair and done by the grace of your light. May my sleep be peaceful in dreams and my soul find rest, so that tomorrow I may do my very best to serve you…” Behind him he heard a muffled undignified snort and then a yelp as Jun clearly hit the offender. Nino wasn’t too bothered about Masaki’s attitude, he had heard a lot of more hurtful things in his time practicing the religion “As the great crone wraps the sky in her clock I ask that the light of my candle stay true and steady and that the elements of wood, water, fire, air, body, and stone protect me and all that share this house be safe to see a new day in your light…I thank-you…”

“Wow that was nice…” Jun hummed as Nino turned away from the candle and wiped his wet hands on his trousers smiling with a little flush.

“I know that it’s weird…But...I dunno…I like it…Anyway…Now that’s out of the way are you going to tell us why you decided to bless us with your presence?” He asked pushing Masaki out of the beanbag and grabbing a slice of pizza “And why you didn’t decide to call first?”

“I’m only here till tomorrow…Mum is picking me up before taking me to grans but she was worried that you wouldn’t eat so she made me bring pizza…” Masaki answered rubbing his sore side before making himself comfortable on the floor with his legs crossed “Aren’t you happy to see me?”

“Of course…” Nino shrugged biting into the meat feast pizza. Masaki pouted his nose wrinkling a little as he muttered;

“Seems like it you’ve been scowling like I interrupted a dirty weekend…” Jun let out a weird strangled sound from the back of his throat and Nino groaned his eyes rolling as his cheeks burning brightly causing Masaki’s eyes to bulge out of their sockets and his mouth to flap open and closed like a landed fish as he looked from one to the other “No way…”
