“You…This…You’re not lying…” Jun breathed and Nino nodded unable to look up from the floor praying that the elevator would hurry up and arrive. His heart was already close to giving out and all he wanted to do was curl up into a ball with his head in his hand. He supposed that he shouldn’t have been so blunt, he should have waited until they were somewhere more private than a corridor but, like verbal diarrhoea, he hadn’t been able to stop. None of it was wait he had vaguely planned to say when being driven back from the practice dig site and he was positive that he was about to pass out from shivering too much. Jun’s hand came to rest on his shoulder and the heat was almost unbearable but it did get him to look up at his friend “Nino…Kazunari…”

“I’m sorry…”

“…All of it was true?” Jun asked slowly his Adam’s apple bobbing up and down in his throat and Nino allowed his tongue to move over his very, painfully, dry lips his eyes beginning to itch from not blinking. His mouth was just as sore and he was positive that he was very close to crying. Jun’s hand stayed very gently on his shoulder his thumb moving in gentle circles. It was something that he had done a few times whenever he had been feeling down and somehow Nino managed to whisper;

“Every single word…”

“…Right…And if we got together?” Jun breathed sounding just as nervous and breathless as he was feeling “You wouldn’t…Get blinding drunk and sleep with other men?”

“…Of course I wouldn’t!” Nino hissed his lips almost twisting into a pout until he remembered that he had just confessed that he was worse than a whore. It was probably a sensible question but it wasn’t one that he had expected. He had thought that Jun would be congratulating himself on his escape but it appeared that that wasn’t the case. Nino swallowed again almost painfully before crying out “But you can’t be serious…You can’t really want me still…Not after all I’ve bloody told you…! I’m disgusting! And dirty…”

“...Nino…I’m not going to pretend that…” Jun broke off his eyes darting nervously around behind his glasses now and Nino was seriously contemplating running as fast as his legs could carry him down the stairs and out of the mathematics department. Jun was seriously still considering dating him after what he had told him and that thought was scary. He had told Takenaka that he would try and explain things to Jun and that he would see how it went from there he had never expected Jun to want to continue trying to seduce him. “We…You...That I understand…I don’t think that…You…I like you…I’ve always liked you…Ever since I saw you…”

“Jun…I’m no good…You deserve somebody that…That isn’t dirty…”

“I don’t think you’re dirty…I think that there’s a lot that you haven’t told me…Like why you tried to kill yourself…But I think that you’re not ready for that…What you already told me must have been hard…”

“Harder than anything that I have ever done in my life…”

“What I don’t get…is how we don’t know…About you getting drunk and…Um…Hav-ving…S-se…Sex…” Jun burned brightly at the word and Nino was startled to realise that his friend was actually a virgin. He had always suspected but to have it confirmed in such a way and at such a time did something to his gut and he found himself dropping to the floor his legs unable and unwilling to continue supporting his weight. “We went with you…I saw you to the bus myself…”

“…I would get off at the next stop and go to NG1…” Nino muttered unable to say anything else now as he pulled tightly at his hair watching Jun’s eyes widen for a moment “…Don’t hate me…If we date and it goes shits up…Don’t hate me…Please…Promise me you’ll never hate me…”

“I’ll never hate you Nino…”

Ok, trying to write you again. Miss doing this. I love the angst in this one......Nino having no courage in his possible relationship with Jun. Great stuff! Its just so sweet how innocent they both act to each other. Like the teacher too. Hugs to you and I hope you feel better honey! : )
