krystalkatzficz“I…Excuse me, my lord…I…I think that I may…I mean I think that I may have misheard you…” Nino stammered almost chocking on his tea, his eyes bulging out of his head as his mouth dropped open. He couldn’t believe that he had heard what he thought he’d heard. There was no way that Ohno had just told him that he was attracted to him. Ohno fixed him with a cold stare over the rim of his tea cup his eyes unfathomable though not as cold as he was now used to seeing them.
“I said that I am attracted to you…Which is why I have been cold to you…” Ohno told him again, his voice calm to the point of almost dispassionate and Nino felt his tongue sticking to the roof of his mouth and nothing he did could get it to start working again. Ohno was watching him though as if waiting for a response so he could judge it and Nino managed to force out a very slow;
“I…Don’t understand…How could you be attracted to me…?”
“You’re a beautiful creature…” Ohno sighed softly his head cocking to one side a little as his eyes moved over him slowly, for the first time looking as though he was genuinely interested in him. In fact, it was as though the lord could see through the clothing that he was wearing and onto the flesh beyond and he gave an almost violent shiver. Ohno’s lips twitched slowly before blinking and shaking his head slowly before looking away from him as he murmured; “But you are everything that I could never hope to obtain…”
“I’m sorry…?” Nino whispered in more confusion than he had before as something close to disappointment flooded through him. Sadness was reflected in the brown orbs for just a moment before his mask came back to his face and he was blank again his mouth opening to take in more of his tea before frowning when he realised that it had cooled considerably while they had been talking.
“Would you care for more tea?”
“Yes, my lord…” Nino answered with a nod holding out his empty cup trying to sort out the information that he had been told. He couldn’t understand why Ohno thought that he couldn’t be with him. Ohno didn’t appear to be willing to offer any more information but Nino cleared his throat anyway, managing to dislodge a nervous lump from the back of his throat. “You…Why aren’t you allowed to…Have me?”
“…You may hang around with a former courtesan but there is something more than a little innocent about you, Take…I mean Ninomiya…I am at a loss as what to call you now…” Ohno chuckled sounding more human than Nino had ever heard him sound before and he knew that if he heard him sounding like that more often it would be easy for him to look as in love as he had done in the painting.
“Nino…When we’re alone…If you would like my lord…” Nino answered with a smile, something that he had probably never given to the lord before so he was surprised when Ohno looked almost fond as he handed him his tea cup again.
“You had that look in the inn when you were coaxing me to drink…Nobody has ever spoken to me the way you did…”
“You heard all of that?”
“Yes…As I drifted in and out…It was surprising…Not least in the way that it made me feel…I barely knew you and yet…I wanted to keep you all for myself…But I cannot…”
“Why? If I said that I could see myself as being yours…Then what?”
