krystalkatzficz“My…Lord…?” Nino spluttered, his heart jumping around like a jack rabbit, as he looked into the almost expressionless brown eyes of the lord. One of Ohno’s eyebrows rose up his forehead as he continued to make the tea in a graceful way. He wasn’t sure how Ohno knew but it was very clear that he did and he knew that what he said now would affect Ohno’s opinion of him and he cleared his throat whispering “Because it’s my real name, my lord”
“Your real name?” Ohno asked carefully handing him a cup of tea his expression not changing an inch and Nino was becoming increasingly more apprehensive about the conversation not sure how he was going explain not using his real name in the first place. His tongue was sticking uncomfortably to the roof of his mouth and it took a great effort for him to drink the sweet tea and whisper;
“Yes my lord, Ninomiya Kazunari...”
“I see and, may I ask why you are not using your real name?” Ohno asked the question that he had been dreading and Nino wished that he could tell the man the truth but he also knew that they were not at that level yet. Aiba…Aiba had been more than willing to believe him but the suspicious Ohno would think him unhinged and slowly he set his cup down and squeezed his hands into fists saying as clearly and as confidently as he could;
“I have my reasons lord; I hope that you will believe me on that but…I…I don’t trust you enough to tell you…”
“Oh? But you trust a former consort?”
“Aiba…Is my friend my lord, he knows everything about me…” Nino hummed knowing that it wasn’t strictly true but the man knew more about him than anybody else did and he had been nothing but a friend to him since he had entered this strange and almost foreign world. “I want to tell you…But…I doubt that you would believe me if I did and the last thing I want if for you to have a bad opinion of me my lord…”
“Oh and why is that?”
“Because…No matter how cruelly you’ve been treating me these last couple of days…I can’t help but think of you laying on the table near death…” Nino shrugged slowly knowing that he couldn’t really say that they were one day soon going to embark on a romance that would have historians saying that he was the great love of the lord’s life “…Plus…I understand why you’ve been treating me like you have…”
“I doubt it…”
“It’s because you’re worried that I’m a spy and a traitor and you worried that your people aren’t safe but…” Nino drank more of the tea his nerves dancing under the surface of his skin but refused to let it show worried that if he did Ohno wouldn’t take him seriously “They are…I would never do anything against you…Like you said before if I wanted to harm you I would have let you die…I didn’t do that…”
“No…You saved me and my hand…Though you still refuse to allow me to use it…” Ohno said and Nino was positive that there was a slight tilt to his lips “…But you’re wrong…That is not the reason that I have been treating you the way that I have…I have been treating you like that because I am attracted to you…”
