You are my tomorrow part 41
Jan. 22nd, 2016 11:11 amNino left Kimiko’s room and then headed back to his own uncomfortably aware that he was being watched by the line of guards that were dotted around the sides of the room. His mind full of what he was going to say to Aiba in his letter. He knew that he had to be careful with whatever he said knowing that even if Sakurai was in love with Aiba he would probably read the letters or maybe just hand them over to Ohno to read through for information.
“Take-kun…” Ohno’s voice called sharply, as if he had been summoned, and Nino came to a complete stop his heart jumping around in his chest, a little like a Mexican jumping bean, before he turned wondering what mood the man was going to be in. The lord was standing at the head of the stairs his hand still on the banister and his expression, as always, completely unreadable. His eyes were almost…Nervous, though like he had been watching him this whole time and had just made up his mind to speak up. He was acting almost like he had done in the inn before he headed out to battle.
“Yes, my lord?” Nino breathed feeling a little more confident when Ohno was acting like this, at least he wasn’t scowling at him. Ohno sighed his eyes moving to the guard next to him before he said carefully;
“I…Would…Come with me…”
“Yes, sir…” Nino nodded with some confusion as he turned away from his bedroom and followed the lord down the stair case and into a room that he had never been in before. It was clearly a tea room as there was already a small fire lit and the ingredients were out. Ohno motioned for him to sit with his good hand and Nino knelt gracefully in front of the man with his hands feeling sweaty as they rested on his knees. Ohno took his place in front of him and then carefully started to prepare a pot of tea. His movements were surprisingly graceful in spite of his injury and Nino was very quick to nod in a agreement when Ohno asked;
“Would you care for some tea?”
“Yes, please…”
Ohno nodded slowly and then continued in silence leaving Nino to look around the warm and pleasant room. The walls were covered with tiny paintings of birds, flowers, and butterflies and he knew that they were all done by the man sitting across from him. The guide would have wept if she had known about this room and for a moment Nino’s heart ached as he himself remembered that this…All of it would be destroyed in a fire. His breath caught as he wondered how he might be able to warn people of it without looking like a crazy person. There probably wasn’t a way that he could but he had to try.
“You enjoy art, Take?”
“…Not really…But yours…Yours is incredible…” Nino breathed honestly in answer to the sudden and unexpected question his eyes going back to Ohno who blinked in surprise. “You painted all of this?”
“…When I couldn’t sleep I added to it…”
“It’s beautiful, my lord…You have an amazing talent…”
“How did you know that I was an artist, Take-kun?” Ohno asked and Nino blinked desperately trying to think of the lie that he had said before. “If you cannot answer that…Answer me this instead…Why does Aiba sometimes call you Nino?”
