krystalkatzficz“Um…Then will you lay on the bed…And…arrange…Um…Your…” Nino whispered weakly motioning to the light pink outfit she was wearing. He knew that his face would be the same shade as her outfit but he tried to be confident washing his hands in the warmed water over the small fire making sure that they were both washed and warm before turning back to the woman who had arranged herself on the bed with her swollen abdomen on display. Trying to remember everything that he had learnt and what he could do with the items that he had available to him at the moment. Like with Ohno’s hand it was all rudimentary but serviceable and he was able to find something which would allow him to hopefully hear the baby and make sure that everything was okay.
“What…What are you doing?” Kimiko asked staring pointedly at the makeshift stethoscope in his hands and Nino swallowed hoping that it wouldn’t sound too insane when he whispered;
“It’s so that I might…Hear the baby…”
“The baby? It…Can speak?” The lady asked with confusion and nervously Nino shook his head quickly as he said;
“What…No…Um but you can hear the heart beat…I’ll be able to see if it’s strong…”
“Wow…Your masters taught you much…I have never heard of such a thing…” Kimiko hummed looking happy as she settled back into the bed. Nino hummed and set to work about to place the stethoscope over the swollen stomach when the door opened and Ohno strode in from his room. He paused in the doorway his eyes narrowing quickly as he took in what was happening before them.
“What is happening here?” He growled sounding almost murderous and Nino felt prickles of fear running around over his body as he tried hard not to drop the equipment. Kimiko on the other hand looked completely relaxed as she stroked her stomach saying brightly;
“Husband…I have come to the healer you brought to check on the health of your heir…”
“…I see…”
“Yes! Take-kun says that he should be able to hear the heartbeat of our child!” The lady Ohno sounded half excited, half disbelieving at that statement and Nino couldn’t stop himself from smelling at her while hoping that his stethoscope would actually work and he would be able to hear something. It wasn’t something that he was overly confident in but it should work and it should give him a good idea of what was going on inside the woman.
“Is there something that you needed my lord?” He asked nervously well aware that Ohno was studying him with a dark expression on his face. To his relief Ohno shook his head looking calmer than he had been earlier as he hummed in an almost gentle voice;
“Nothing that will not keep until you are finished…”
“…Thank-you...Um…Then I will work…” Nino breathed nervously through his nose his hands still trembling as he set to work moving his hands over the stomach first checking to see that the baby was laid in the correct positon or at least from what he could remember realising that the baby was a little far back and was more than likely laid out on a nerve. “Um…Are you getting a lot of back pain, my lady?”
“Some…Mostly at night when I’m on my back…” Kimiko answered and Nino nodded making a note to give her some advice after they had finished.
“I will try and listen to the baby…” he breathed bring up the stethoscope and laying it on the stomach his ear resting against it. Trying hard to ignore Ohno’s eyes on him he closed his own and listened to the sounds that were actually echoing into his ear. He knew very little about it but from what he could tell the baby appeared to have a strong heartbeat. “Everything seems fine…Um…”
“May I listen?”

I do hope Nino has watched some videos or articles or heard from pregnant ladies in his future life or whatever about those baby position in far back. Because maybe if the baby is so far it might be difficult to be born because it took time? Idk, but it's but logical right? Maybe he can suggest to the Lady to start a yoga or exercise to help with the birth, and it even might be able to relieve the back pain. :D
