Nino yawned rubbing his eyes with the pads of his hands as he went into the baby room to check of Kaito and the kittens carrying with him a bowl of food for his little princess. The former stray had settled herself out in the middle of the bed like she was the queen of Sheba, with all of her kittens in a neat little row suckling on her nipples. The cat gave him a surprisingly loud meow and Nino grinned to himself putting the bowl of food down beside her while stroking the top of her head.

“Hello my princess, I’m glad that you’re feeling better after all that you had to go through…” He whispered and Kaito meowed again rubbing her face against his fingers before turning her attentions to her dinner eating it as Nino studied the kittens noting that almost all seemed like they were going to short haired cats except the one that Jun liked. She was definitely going to be long haired as she was already three times as fluffy as her siblings. Her fur was already a beautiful mix of colours and Nino could see why Jun would want her, though he was going to wait to see if she liked him first as they couldn’t have two cats that would happily attack him.

“Are you going to like J? He’s a really nice person really and he would love a kitty like you to look after…” Nino whispered trying hard not to fee too stupid that he was talking to a kitten, more so one whose ears hadn’t opened yet. “…Anyway my princess…I’ll see you again later, I have to get to work now…” Kaito meowed in response and Nino smiled stroking her head again before leaving the room and almost dying when he saw that Jun was standing there probably able to listen to everything that he had been saying “Do you always eavesdrop?”

“Only when my lover is being extremely cute…” Jun answered shamelessly shrugging before bending over and kissing his nose “I never imagined that you would fall in love so easily with a cat, more so one that you didn’t want when I first told you about it…”

“Hey! She’ll hear you!” Nino hissed jabbing him hard in the stomach and closing the door with a click “It’s not that I didn’t want her! I just didn’t want you to be forced into taking a cat when you’d just been forced into taking me in…”

“Hmm…From what I can remember I was forcing you to stay with me…You just didn’t turn up unannounced and even if you did I wouldn’t have turned you away…” Jun hummed with a smile his body suddenly too close Nino’s as his lips pressed against his ear “It wasn’t a complete waste of time after all, we did somehow end up dating…So I think of that as a win all around…I love you…”

“Hunh? What the hell are you saying that for now?” Nino growled blushing to the roots as he tried and failed to squirm away from him his heart doing silly gymnastics inside his chest. Jun chuckled pinning him down a little more and nibbling the shell of his ear as he gave another shrug saying;

“Because I do and I want you to know that…I love you and I’m not ashamed of it…I am completely and utterly in love with you Ninomiya Kazunari…”

“…Idiot!” Nino grumbled again but allowed himself to be drawn into a lazy kiss refusing to care about the fact that they were both almost late for work. It wasn’t as if they were always late after all, in fact since moving in with Jun he was almost always half an hour early. With that thought in mind he relaxed into the kiss loving the feel of the lips against his for as long as possible.
