Nino groaned trying to rub the tired feeling from his eyes when he heard the small cried of Yuuji knowing that his youngest son was working himself into a very healthy cry. It had been a month since the babies had been born and already their personalities were clear and it turned out that Yuuji was very clingy while Taka was the more laid back of the two. ‘Just like his Daddy’ Nino thought wiping his hands on a tea towel and going through to the brightly decorated nursery. He and Ohno had spent every night after work for three weeks making sure that it was ready. One wall was flooded with a scene from Winnie the pooh. It had been painted in miraculous detail by Ohno, Tigger was pushing Roo on a rope swing while Mrs Kanga was watching from where she was sweeping her door step. Eeyore was rebuilding his house with sticks with the aide of Owl while rabbit was tending to his carrots in his garden. Pooh bear and piglet sitting on a rock looking up at two cloud picture frames that now held pictures of each of the babies with their daddies. The rest of the room was painted in a soft cream as they didn’t know what sexes the babies were going to be.
Nino still couldn’t believe that this had happened that he and Ohno were finally parents. He hadn’t told his husband but he had wanted this for years, ever since Aiba and Sakurai had adopted their second daughter and had asked them to babysit. Being in this room made him realise over and over again how much Ohno loved him. On every wall there were shelves full of toys, most were brand new but some as old as Ohno, as his parents seemed to have saved everything from when their son was a baby. Smiling at the teddy with a missing eyes and a chewed nose Nino hurried to the cot as Yuuji was trying to bring the house down with his screams
The twins were dressed in matching outfits of soft yellow with two fluffy bunnies on the front. Taka was predictably still asleep seemingly oblivious to the high cries of his brother.
“Yuuji, ssh Sweetie…” Nino said scooping his son into his arms and pressing his lips to the soft feathery black hair “Papa’s trying to get Daddy’s dinner ready…”
Yuuji gave a dove like coo his screams stopping as soon as Nino’s arms were around him and the tired father gave a smile stroking Taka’s head before carrying his twin out into the living room rocking him against his chest. The house had been decorated for Christmas and Yuuji was instantly attracted to the bright flashing lights, his mixed coloured eyes darting everywhere while his mouth hung open
“You like the pretty lights, Yuuji?” Nino giggled touching one of the branches of the fake Christmas tree, causing the bell decorations to tingle and the stunned look on Yuuji’s face made him smile and he kissed the forehead again putting him in the bright yellow baby carrier that Mao had insisted that they needed. Yuuji seemed to agree loving the fact that he was so close to his father and Nino couldn’t help but mutter about spoiled brats even when his face was aching from his grin.
Ohno sighed his eyes flicking to the clock on the wall aware that his class was grinning at him. He had been impatient to get home the moment that he had arrived at the school, wanting to be with Nino and his sons, at least his afternoon was his last for the holiday’s and the students were his advanced class, most of the people in here had already been accepted into college so they mostly just left him alone to work on their projects while he did whatever he wanted
“Sensei…Sensei are those your sons?” A voice asked nudging his arm and nearly making his son have a small moustache on the painting that he was doing for Nino’s Christmas present.
“Yes, Taka and Yuuji” Ohno grinned proudly putting the brush down to avoid any more accidents. The painting was almost finished, the image being of Nino with the twins, the basic figures were white and grey but on all three the eyes stood out, the mixed dark and light along with the dark chocolate of Nino’s reflecting the love they had for him and their children.
“Wow…Are their eyes really that colour?” the girl asked and Ohno pulled out his phone showing them the screen saver and there was a few murmurs and some more coo’s. “They are so cute!”
“They look just like you and Ninomiya-sensei…”
“Thank-you…” Ohno said his smugness showing through again and his students gave a laugh
“After the holiday you’ll have to bring them in!”
“We’ll see, you should finish your projects…” Ohno told them and after a while they did just that and the teacher was glad that there was only an hour left until he could leave.
“Welcome home, Oji-chan…” Nino said brightly glad that he had wrapped his husbands present earlier. Yuuji was still in his carrier on his chest and Taka was cooing in his chair as happy as anything
“Are you okay?” Ohno asked putting something behind the sofa before coming over and kissing his husband before kissing his youngest sons head before going to Taka who was contentedly staring at the brightly coloured Santa’s and snowmen that were linked by a golden chain.
“Hmmn…Yeah…Yuuji screamed a bit…Until I brought him here but Taka was as good as gold…I actually had to go and check if he was awake” Nino answered stifling a yawn as he put a hand on the babies back stroking him through the thick fabric of the carrier
“Takes after his daddy” Ohno said with a smug smile and Nino flicked the tea-towel at his face though his eyes were shining with love. “You should go take a bath…”
“Hmm that sounds great…” Nino admitted suddenly feeling sleepy as he carefully moved his son and handing it and Yuuji to his husband “I love you, Oji-chan…”
“Me too…Now go for a bath and then we can dinner, okay?” Ohno grinned his eyes shining as he held Yuuji against his chest and for some reason Nino got the feeling that Ohno wanted him out of the room and he guessed that it had something to do with what had been put behind the sofa and it didn’t take much to work out that it was his Christmas present.
“Okay…The wrapping paper is in the cupboard under the stairs…” He said laughing when Ohno’s face went through a rainbow of colours.
Ohno rolled his eyes knowing that he should have known better than to think that he could hide it from Nino but he guessed that as long as he didn’t know exactly what it was it was okay. He placed Yuuji in the matching blue chair and automatically the boys reached out and gripped each other’s hands. He went to cupboard and took out the wrapping paper surprised to see that there was a pile of presents wrapped up and hidden behind coats and he realised that they were signed ‘From Santa’. It was such a silly thing, the babies were only a month old but already Nino was giving them presents from Santa. He really was a mother. Closing the door he went back into the living room and wrapped Nino’s present as carefully as he could swearing when the paper ripped a few times and then the cello tape stuck to his leg pulling at his hairs. Flicking his eyes to his babies and was positive that they were laughing at them and he stuck his tongue out wiggle his fingers at them.
“Are you finished?” Nino asked behind him and Ohno nodded looking doubtfully at the present and Nino came up to him and wrapped his arms around him pressing his lips his cheek wet hair dripping onto his shoulder and looking at their babies.
“I can’t wait…This is going to be the best Christmas ever…”
