Nino was brimming with pride as he watched Ohno stumble towards the cribs his eyes not leaving the two babies that were making cute snuffling noises as their tiny hands gripped each other.

“They’re perfect…” Ohno whispered his voice brimming with so much emotion that Nino felt overwhelmed, tiredness seeping into his body as he sank into the chair beside the cot, still grinning like a mad man. Ohno pressed his lips to Nino forehead quickly before looking back at the babies “I can’t believe that I missed them being born…”

“Yeah? Well I kind of wish that I had missed it…If I wasn’t already gay that would have put me off women for life…” Nino said his nose scrunching his nose up as he remembered all blood and gunk that he had just seen and Ohno laughed softly which just served to piss Nino off just a little bit more “You know I meant it right? That I’m topping for six years…”

“You said five” Ohno pointed out softly his eyes taking in every single detail of his babies one, the one on the right had a very prominent mole in the middle of his still slightly red and wrinkled skin and he gave a triumphant shout “Aha…I told you that they would be yours…”

“What?” Nino mumbled with a frown stopping the rant he had been about to make to look at the babies. “What do you mean they’re mine?”

“He’s got your mole…”

“He’s got your nose” Nino pointed out and Ohno blinked looking at the baby on the left and having to admit that although it was slightly scrunched up and flattened it did look like it was going start looking like his nose. Before either man could say anything more the door opened and Doctor Sakamoto walked in with a chart under his nose

"It's the strangest thing... Not very common but possible..." Sakamoto said looking at the chart with a strange look on his face causing both men too worry and Nino got to his feet

"What? Is something wrong?" Nino asked sharply his eyes narrowing

"Wrong no it’s just Superfecundation..." The doctor answered and Ohno was glad that Nino looked just as mystified as he was at the doctor’s words. Sakamoto put the chart down and smiled at them both “It’s just that each twin has your DNA…Two eggs must have been fertilised when they were placed in Dee”

"So they are really biologically both of ours?" Ohno asked in complete disbelief looking down at his twin sons unable to believe what they were being told though it would explain why both babies both had their features.

"Yes... It's rare but perfectly possible" the doctor answered with a bright and happy grin "you are the fraternal parent of your youngest son while your husband is the true father of your son... It's a funny thing isn't it? DNA..."

"Yes very funny" Ohno answered in a dull tone running his finger over the tiny hand on the baby in front of him. It was so small but perfectly formed and he gasped when the tiny fingers reached out and gripped at his finger holding it tightly. There was a snuffling noise from the other bundle and Ohno flicked his eyes too it just as his second son opened his eyes and Ohno’s breath really did catch in his throat. His sons eyes were two complete different colours one, the left, was a deep chocolate brown while the right was a lighter hazel colour.

"It's surprising ne?" Nino asked coming to stand beside him "I was going to tell you…the other has the same but the opposite sides...”

“Yes, these babies are full of wonderful little surprises, ne?” Sakamoto-sensei said with a bright laugh placing the chart on the back of the cot “It’s called Heterochromia iridum”

“They're cute though ne?" Nino said brightly holding out his own forefinger and the baby with the mole gripped it tightly.

"Absolutely beautiful" Ohno agreed with a nod a huge happy grin forming on his lips as his second baby opened his eyes looking up at him and proving Nino right. He couldn’t believe how many surprising things there were about their babies, but he had to admit that they were amazingly beautiful “It’s going to be easy to tell them apart…I was worried they were going to pull pranks on us or something…”

Nino gave a laugh his eyes flashing with mischief as he wrapped his arms around his husbands waist and rested his chin on his shoulder “With me as their dad of course they’re going to play pranks on us…We’ll just have to be one step ahead…”

“Right we can’t keep calling them Baby A and Baby B…So do you have any names?” The doctor asked brightly clapping his hands together and peering at the new parents and shaking his head at the expressions on their faces a happy buzz running through his stomach. It always gave him a warm glow when he was able to help two people have children.

“Taka and Yuuji…” Nino said pointing at each of the babies in turn with his free hand giving the names that they had decided when they had been picking out names and Ohno gave a nod.

“Very well” The names were written carefully onto the chart and then he gave a bow leaving the room quietly. The babies drifted back to sleep and the two dads sank into the chair with Nino sitting on his husband’s legs his arms wrapped around his neck letting out a loud sigh and then giving a yawn, rubbing his eyes with his hand only too shake his sleepiness away when the door opened and Ohno’s mum popped her around the door

“May we come in?” She asked and Nino grinned when he saw his own mum popping her head in a matching grin on her own face

“Ohno-san phoned me and I came…Are these them?” She gasped coming into the room and Nino rolled his eyes

“No these are two that we found ours are in the next room” He said flinching when his mum lightly clipped him on the shoulder

“Don’t be cheeky, you’re not too big to go over my knee” She said and Nino gave a light laugh nestling up to Ohno. “They are beautiful though…Just like you were when you were that age…”

“I was just about to say the same” Mrs Ohno said dabbing her eyes with a handkerchief “I can’t believe that I’m a grandma…”

“Me neither” Ms Ebisawa said looking at her grandchildren “So…Do you…Know whose…”

“They’re both ours…” Nino answered with a shrug

“I know that of course I just…” She gasped obviously thinking that she had offended them in some way “I didn’t mean…”

“No, mum read the chart” Nino laughed touching her arm and with a frown both she and Ohno’s mum did so their heads cocking to one side and their mouths parting with surprise

“Is that possible?” Mrs Ohno asked and Ms Ebisawa’s mouth moved slowly as she continued to read

“Apparently it’s called Superfecundation…” She murmured and Nino and Ohno nodded.

“Well whatever its called it’s a miracle…” Mrs Ohno said peering over the crib “Hello Yuuji, hello Taka…I’m your granny…I’m very glad to meet you…”

“Hello boys I’m your momma…I’m happy to meet you too…” Ms Ebisawa said brightly her voice ringing around the room disturbing the babies and causing them to give loud cries. “Oh sorry!” she gasped as the new fathers got to their feet and went to their babies

“Mum” Nino whined while Mrs Ohno just laughed her eyes dancing the way that Ohno’s did when he was very amused

“Its okay…They have to get used to it…”
