Masaki cuddled up to his mum and dad breathing in their familiar scent and basking in their warmth. They had blamed everyone and anyone they could think off and Masaki had argued loudly when they had tried to blame Sho. He knew that he had revealed more than he should about his feelings for the older man. He had thought for sure that they would just drag him away from the school without question after that but they hadn’t and he was glad. He was still debating wither or not he wanted to leave the school but he had promised Nino that he would stay until tonight and he wanted some confirmation from Sho that they relationship would continue if he left. He was sure that it would but he knew that it would be difficult as they were so far apart.
“Masaki...We will understand if you need to take some time at home, and of course your place will always be here for you when…Or rather if you wanted to return…”
“The school term is over, it would be best if he just stayed at home…” His father said speaking for him his eyes narrowed at the old man who Masaki knew was his biological grandfather even though nobody had said so. He was far too similar to his father for it to be anything else and his...Other grandfather was always rather cold and distant whenever he was mentioned.
“I suppose that that is an option as well…But it should be left for Masaki to decide…” His grandfather hummed smiling kindly and Masaki let out a sigh wishing that he wasn’t behaving so childishly. Nothing had happened even though he knew that Sho would say differently. Aware that three sets of eyes were looking at him he gave a small smile his shoulders rolling in a shrug.
“I haven’t made up my mind yet…I want to go home…But I want to stay…My friends…Sh…Teachers…Everybody is here…I don’t want to run away but…I can’t help but think about Akiyama…I see him everywhere…I thought…He was really going to rape or kill me! But…If I leave Nino will always feel guilty…” he sighed knowing already that Nino was blaming himself for what had happened. He had seen the expression and felt the way that he had clung to him. He hadn’t expected Nino to act that way, thinking that he was a stronger person than he was, and he wanted him to know that he didn’t blame him at all.
“Ninomiya will understand…” His mum said gently and Masaki shrugged while at the same time shaking his head as he murmured;
“I dunno…He asked me stay at least until this evening, I promised that I would…Is that okay?”
“Of course it is sweet…” His mum’s endearment was drowned out by the brisk knock on the door and the head teacher called out swiftly;
“Come in…”
“I’m sorry to disturb you, headmaster…Aiba-san…” Sho hummed coming into the room and bowing low to his parents before smiling at him.
“That’s quite alright, Sakurai-sensei…” The head master hummed motioning to the chair that was beside him “Please sit down…”
“Thank-you…”
“Sensei…Have you seen Nino and Ohno?” Masaki asked when Sho had sat down and was looking awkwardly around the room. His parents had stiffened at his entry and he was desperate to try and smooth things over even if it was impossible.
