It was written clear in Nino’s face, like a timid animal that had never been in contact with elf or man before Nino was opening himself up to the Ru’inwë and it was a good thing to see. Aiba had the love of all of their clan and Sho would offer his beloved a steady presence in his life. Ohno was tempted to chuckle imagining the blacksmith and Ru’inwë as his little love’s adoptive parent and decided that if they wanted to take on the role then Nino would find no better. Nino nodded happily as he gave a bright smile pressing his back into his chest.
“Yes he taught me to say something!” Nino answered with an excited gasp and Ohno had to admit that he was surprised. Nino found leaning difficult even reading in the common tongue was a struggle for him and most of their lessons involved his beloved throwing down his pencil in frustration and pressing his face into his knees. Each and every time Ohno watched his beloved with understanding. It was a difficult thing even for younglings and it was being made even more frustrating for him as both Arianna and Aiba had made great strides towards mastering the basics while was still struggling over a greeting. Ohno honestly thought that it would because his lover was struggling to try and do too much all at once but he also knew that Nino wouldn’t go easy on himself. “Remut dema dee e…”
“Remut dema dee e…I am good enough?” Ohno repeated softly watching as Nino flushed brightly playing around with the reins of the horse. They were good words but it worried him that Nino would need to be taught something like that. He thought that the half blood was getting over his fears of being with the clan but now it seemed that that was just wishful thinking on his part.
“…He told me that his partner, Sho, though he wasn’t good enough for him…” Nino hummed and Ohno was surprised but happy at how much Aiba had reviled to his little lover, more so given the difficulty of the language barrier between them.
“Indeed he did and if I’m being honest I believe that Sho still thinks that way…” Ohno sighed a little thinking of the gruff blacksmith who still stood to the side whenever there was a group discussion. The man did smile more than he once did but it was only ever in the presence of his pure partner “Everybody in love has those doubts…Masaki is an extremely important member of our clan…In fact any of the clans…He is third in the council…”
“After You and Jun?”
“Yes…You as the low king will have your own council equal to that of mine…” Ohno said gently aware of how much this might shock his lover “When we arrive you will be able to choose whom you have as your second and third…”
“Me? But…I couldn’t possibly…”
“I will make the suggestion of having your sister fill one of the roles my little beloved…As your second perhaps…” Ohno hummed into the boy’s ear hoping that having somebody familiar would help calm him down “But that can wait…We are almost in the highlands…When we turn this rock you will be home…Nothing but that should be on your mind now…”
