Your Grace part 41
Aug. 12th, 2015 10:51 am“Beloved, you appeared to be enjoying yourself…”
“Masaki was making Fee and Swift dance!” Nino laughed looking up at his king with a happy expression on his face unable to believe that he could be this happy when just yesterday he had been terrified of the men that had been brought to him and the trail that they still had to have. Aiba’s easy personality, even with his broken common tongue, was something that had given him joy as he had pointed out all of the animals they passed on the back of the Shire even going so far as too call out some of the braver birds to have them fly around them or even land on his hand. Ohno had said that the elves didn’t have magic but he was certain that Aiba did.
“I saw…Not a trick that he has shown to others…” Satoshi said with a fondness in his voice as he looked at the animal trainer who had flopped onto his back with the Dune foxes jumping all over him playfully. “Our Ru’inwë is deeply skilled...But for now I must steal you away…I wish to show you something...”
“May I ask what?”
“You may, but I may not tell you…It is a surprise but I promise that you will enjoy it…” Ohno chuckled taking his hand and pulling him up to his feet. Nino frowned a little looking at Aiba who just smiled up at him from under Fee’s fluffy fur motioning for him to go with his hands and saying;
“See soon!”
Ohno led him through the camp and then up a path that Nino was sure that only goats should be able to walk. Nino tried not to look down to the rocks that he knew for certain that would be below them taking comfort in the knowledge that his king would never take him anywhere that was dangerous, in fact when he thought about it, it reminded Nino of their path to the place where the rainbows were born but instead of going into a cave they were on the very edge of the mountain. Ohno was holding his hand tightly making sure that he didn’t stray too close to the edge. Not that there was much danger of him doing that as Phoenix who was tucked into his shirt was somehow managing to keep him pressed to the wall of the mountain.
It wasn’t until they were standing on a wider platform that Ohno stopped walking and then moved them so they were looking out over…What could only be described as a magical kingdom. Rivers, and grass land, flowers, and trees, all of them stretched out in front of them. Animals, some that he recognised others that he hoped Aiba would tell him about, ran around looking almost like ants while light from the sun that was only starting to skin behind the furthest mountain caused crystal trees in the distance to twinkle like rainbows.
“This my beloved, is the highlands…This is your home…” Ohno whispered as if he was giving him something truly amazing and he was. All of the years he had been forced to sleep on the hard stone floor in the kitchen of Draven castle was meaningless to him now. A loud beating of wings caused his heart to race as a shadow fell over them for a moment he was positive that Ohno was going to attack but then he let out a cry of happiness saying “Dragon?”
