Two Years later
“No…” Nino barked his eyes narrowing at his lover who was cuddling yet another stray cat. This was a tabby affair with half an ear missing and what appeared to be a bad case of glue eye. It wasn’t the first critter that his lover had brought back since they had moved here two years ago and, although they had a fairy large house with a great garden he was sick of being overrun with the smelly creatures.
“Aww but…look at him…” Masaki whined waving the paw of the pathetic looking cat and pulling his best pouty face that they both knew Nino was weak to even if they both pretended he wasn’t. “He would be happy here…”
“And I would be happier without it…Ai-baka you already have five cats and two dogs…” Nino whispered able to fee his resistance crumbling as his eyes went from his lover and then to the kitten, who meowed pathetically, and back again. It looked like Masaki was about to cry if he didn’t get his way and almost all at once Nino felt his resistance crumble into dust as he gave a growl “I could have been with an actor…Did you know that? Or the prime minister! But no…No I ended up coming with you and ending up living in a zoo…”
His arms folded over his chest as he scowled at his lover thinking back to all of the people that he really could have ended up with.
Jun, his life was always going to be complicated, he had stayed married to Mao though their marriage had fallen apart shortly after the birth of their child when Jun had finally confessed that he was gay. The media attention had made it impossible for him to stay in Japan and the last piece of information that he had heard said that Jun was living the high, gay, life in America where he had found a lover and adopted a dog. As far as he was aware he was in touch with Mao and his child.
Sakurai was easy, he was currently in his second year as prime minster and people were calling it a golden age. He had married his beautiful assistant and they were expecting their first child. They, like Jun and Mao, looked like the perfect family and when Nino watched the video footage carefully each and every time he almost smirked at the fact that the women seemed to be just what the man needed, he was surprised but he could easily picture her holding a whip and beating Sho’s pretty buttocks. He tried hard not to feel jealousy but he took comfort that he was getting what he needed.
Ohno…Ohno had been almost impossible to track, at first he thought the worst and he frantically called every funeral home and hospital he could find in the phone book but after a week of sleepless nights Jun had taken him to a dock and he had found the most gentle and needy of his motley collection living happily with a boy almost half his age. It was a strange sight, and for the third time there was the painful sting of jealousy, but he was happy that Ohno appeared to have forgiven himself for the accident.
“…You wouldn’t have been happy though…” Masaki said confidently not even caring about his half-hearted threat as he came over and claimed his lips in a soft sweet kiss “Because you love me…”
“I have no idea why…I should have my head examined…” Nino grumbled his heart softening as the kitten gave another pathetic meow. Of course it was his lover’s soft hearted nature that had him crazy about him. That he took in a cat that most people would have left for dead, that he loved him with every fibre of his being helped too. “Then again you do have an impressive cock…Hmm if you’re going to keep that thing you better come and show me that…”
