“Do you have a problem with Nino?”
The words caused Matsumoto Jun to blink and look at the man that he had called best friend for more than half of his life. Ohno Satoshi was staring at him with an intently curious expression on his face his eyes narrowed and head cocked to one side and Jun found himself scrambling for an answer not sure if he liked where this was going. The Nino that his friend was referring to was Ninomiya Kazunari, his new boyfriend, and yes the truth was that Jun did have a problem with him but it wasn’t the problem that Ohno was probably thinking he had. The truth was he was in love with his friend’s boyfriend and in fact he had been before Ohno and Nino had even met.
He had met Nino at a party through a mutual friend, Aiba Masaki, and he had fancied him from almost the moment that he had met him. It would have been impossible not to be attracted to the bratty elfin man. He was a couple of years younger than himself and Ohno but he had a good head on his shoulders and he pretty sexy arse that he enjoyed wiggling around on the makeshift dancefloor. They had spent almost all of that first night together and he thought that they had hit it off, he had been as cool as he possibly could be and he thought that he was reasonably good looking but Ohno had been with him the next time he saw him and the two men had hit it off instantly and Jun knew that it was no use.
The pair were now permanently attached to each other and it was driving him insane. He didn’t want to hate Ohno for stealing Nino but he couldn’t deny that there was bitterness and jealousy inside of him whenever he had to sit through them kissing and cuddling.
“…No…Why would you…Even think that?” Jun asked trying to bluff the question but he knew that even Ohno would have noticed the stammer that was in his voice.
“Because you glare at him when you think I don’t notice…” Ohno sighed his eyebrows furrowing together and Jun almost relaxed. He had been scowling and glaring at the pair whenever he saw them together but it wasn’t directed at Nino. “…I thought you liked Nino…?”
“I do…” Jun sighed tempted to giving a manic laughing cry at Ohno’s choice of words “I like him…”
“You like who now? Hey poky bear, sorry I’m late” Nino’s nasally voice said coming up behind him his arms wrapping around Ohno’s waist his lips pressing to his cheek. Jun’s insides wriggled uncomfortably as he became desperate to not show his discomfort at the kiss or the cutesy talk while wishing that it was him that had the cute little body pressed up against him.
“Jun likes you…” Ohno hummed capturing the younger man in his own arms and pulling him so he was nestled up against his body his chin on his shoulder. Jun swallowed wondering what would happen if he confessed to Nino? Would he stand a chance? He doubted it, the man was completely in love with Ohno it was there clear in his eyes that he didn’t stand a chance.
“Of course he does…” Nino replied flippantly and for just a second Jun was convinced that he had been found out before Nino gave a cheeky smile adding “Everybody does…Come on my sexy old man…I wanna dance…”
“Okay, Nino…” Ohno agreed submissively allowing himself to be pulled to the dancefloor. Jun watched them go his heart taking up its place in his stomach. They were soon moving together in a way that was too sensual to be dancing and he felt like his stomach had just been punched hard. Frantically he tried to divert his mind from the images of his friend and Nino later that night by looking around the bar wishing that he could find somebody like Ohno’s guy.
