krystalkatzficzMasaki walked towards his friend’s bedroom able to hear the tremble that was in his voice knowing that he had worried him more than he should while he was in this delicate stage of pregnancy. His daughter was due almost any day now and he really shouldn’t have acted so stupidly. Feeling a little like a naughty school boy he knocked on the door that was only partially closed swallowing down a thick lump from the back of his throat.
Honestly he couldn’t believe that Sho hadn’t shouted at him or at the very least offered him a sympathy job but he supposed that that would come later. At this rate he was acting like the immature child that he was saying that he wasn’t. He felt like it though, he had no money, no job, and now three children that he had to take care of.
“Get your stupid butt in here!” Nino growled and Masaki felt a nervous fluttering inside his stomach before he moved inside. He actually rather liked Nino and Ohno’s bedroom. It was in a soft aqua colour that felt calming to be in…The only thing that he didn’t like was the large mirror that was attached to the ceiling. It gave him a glimpse to both his friends’ lives that he didn’t want to know. Nino was currently propped up onto a mound of pillows, with a bowl of fruit at his side, which gave him the impression of a princess in a royal bed. “What are you smirking about?”
“Sorry…I was thinking that you look like a princess…” Masaki answered and Nino rolled his eyes taking one of the dark grapes from the bowl and popping it into his mouth juice running down over his lip before he motioned to the bed.
“Sit down…And explain to me what the hell you were thinking for lying for 3 weeks…” He growled and slowly Masaki did as he was told sitting on the very edge of the bed and whispering;
“I…I didn’t mean to…It just happened that way…I thought…I thought that maybe I could get another job before anyone knew but…Everywhere I went…I didn’t have the qualifications or the Sakurai’s had already gotten to them…”
“These sons of bitches…Seriously…Even if they’re angry with you I can’t believe that they would do that to their own Grandchildren…But then you should have come to me you big idiot…” Nino growled kicking him square in the back.
“I can’t I’m an adult…” Masaki whispered close to crying again “I should be able to look after my own children…I can’t always keep coming to you”
“Idiot…You can…Even an adult needs help sometimes…” Nino sighed reaching over and squeezing at his hand tightly “More so…And you know that I love you like a brother and I love those kids…”
“I know…But…You already have so much to worry about…You have Satoshi and your baby coming soon…”
“That doesn’t mean I’m going to forget about you…You can work for me and Satoshi!”
“No! I can’t, this is what I didn’t want…I don’t want a pity job!” Masaki hissed getting to his feet and pacing around as Nino almost shouted;
“Do you think that I would ever be the type to give you a pity job? You will have to work and hard…”
“Doing what?”
“Helping Ohno out in the gallery, cleaning…Making sure that the old man doesn’t fall to sleep…” Nino mumbled and Masaki almost panicked his eyes bulging out of his head well aware of what job Nino was intending him to do.
“But…That…That’s your job…I can’t take your job…”
“You can for a year at least…I…I’ve decided that I’m going to stop work for a year…I…I’m not daddy material like you so it will probably take me that long to figure it all out and then…” Nino gave a rueful smile and Nino was about to protest but Nino gave a shrug continuing “…I dunno we can figure it all out after that…Don’t say no…I’ve already talked about it with Satoshi…”
