Sho hummed as he switched off his computer and the desk lamp. It had been three weeks since he had first seen Masaki again and he was positive that everything was going well. The twins seemed to love him and Katrina was happy living with his strange little family, she had just stared at him when he had told her about the adoption and then got up and hugged him tightly around the neck whispering ‘I’m glad that you wanted me uncle Sho…’ since that day she had moved in with Masaki who had said that one more mouth never hurt anyone. Sho would have head her with him in his apartment but even his hectic work schedule and inability to cook she was safer with the miracle that was his boyfriend.
Things with Masaki were going well, or at least he thought so, they hadn’t been able to go on anymore proper dates but he made sure to go around as often as he could even when Masaki was working. Things had fallen into a happy little pattern and he was starting to really get to know the person that Masaki was now. His lover wasn’t that much different from the teen he had been, yes he was older and a little more cautious now but overall he had the same sense of humour the same warm heart.
Sho was cruelly jolted from his daydream by his mobile ringing shrilly and bouncing over his desk as if it was doing a jig. Seeing Nino’s name flashing up had him worried, the man was in his last month of pregnancy and had been forced into complete bed rest as his baby girl was now so big he looked like a space hopper and already she had caused him to black out when she kicked him in the stomach.
“Nino? Is everything okay…?”
“It’s Masaki…I…He…He’s gone AWOL!” Nino shouted down the phone line a sob catching in his throat and Sho actually found himself trying to console the man that had once been in his list of most disliked people “The old man said that he would fetch him from work today but when he arrived he was told that Masaki was fired three weeks ago…”
“What? But…He’s never said…”
“Well, of course he wouldn’t! According to the old man his boss was looking shifty and guilty but he wasn’t saying anything so I called my dad…Your parents…When Masaki got home I confronted him about it and he burst into tears and ran…” Nino huffed sounding like he was pacing around the room and Sho’s professionalism as a doctor quickly had him hissing;
“Get back into bed…I’m on my way…”
“No…Find Masaki…Please the kids are panicking…I’m panicking…He’s always so…Stupid!” Nino shouted before the heavy treads stopped and Sho relaxed when he heard Jun saying;
“Nino get back into bed! It’s not good for you or the baby! Daddy will be fine! Papa will find him!”
“He’s right I will…” Sho whispered as he disconnected the line, though he had no idea where to start looking. He thought he had Masaki figured out again but if he had been lying about where he was going for three weeks then he really didn’t know him as well as he thought he did. “Masaki…Where the hell are you?” He asked scrambling to his feet. “I’m coming…”
