Bretby Hall part twenty-one

krystalkatzficzOhno sat staring at Akio and the head teacher who were both studying him like he was some strange insect under a microscope. His face was busted he knew that, his jaw was aching and his eye could use some attention but he refused to say what had happened and what had caused the fight between him and Thomas, Thomas who was receiving medical attention from the matron. Only the thought that he had knocked a few of the waiter’s teeth out made the pain he was in worth it.
“Satoshi…If you just tell us why…Mr Wright is already in serious trouble and will no longer be allowed on school grounds but if you could tell us the reason for the dispute…” The head said slowly talking in an overly clipped and smooth accent her body held in perfect pose as her eyes kept flicking to the prince who had been silently staring at him with one foot resting on the first shelf of the antique book shelf that was positioned next to the teacher’s fireplace. His arms were folded over his chest and his eyes were narrowed while one corner of his mouth was caught between his teeth. For a moment Ohno was tempted to tell the man the truth, he was being supportive of him and Nino after all and it was his son but he was positive that the head wouldn’t be supportive not for all the gold in the world. The women was traditional and a bigot.
“I can’t say, head mistress…” He answered stiffly his voice sounding strange to his own ears and the woman let out a very disappointed sigh shaking her head as for a friction of a second she slumped into her chair. Akio chose that very moment to clear his throat politely a fraction of a smile appearing on his lips as he murmured lightly;
“Please forgive us, but perhaps if I spoke to the boy alone? I am good friends with his father and Ohno-kun is good friends with my son…”
“Oh…Yes! Of course, your highness, of course…” She simpered jumping to her feet so quickly that Ohno wondered if the chair had been set alight. Walking to the door she almost fell over herself to continue to bow at him until the thick wooden door closed behind her with a heavy click. As soon as she was gone Akio relaxed rolling his eyes in the same way that he had seen Nino do a thousand times before sitting in the chair she had just left.
“The only problem with schools like this…They always hire bootlickers…” He mumbled looking at a photo set in a golden frame, which showed a faded picture of the current head teacher with the prune faced Queen of England, the teacher looked truly awestruck showing all of her teeth at once in a pose that made her look like a horse. “But nobody with any real brains…I wonder if the Governors of the school enjoy getting their egos stroked as much as she enjoys doing it…”
“I…Wouldn’t know sir…” Ohno mumbled politely refusing to speak ill of the teacher even if she wasn’t in the room, not because he didn’t agree but out of habit. Akio looked surprised for a minute before smiling as he turned the picture away from himself leaning forward in his desk with his arms arched in front of him.
“This Thomas Wright person...” He hummed thoughtfully the tips of his fingers touching at his lips “I keep asking myself why would you…A clearly thoughtful and reasonable young man attack somebody so physically? And do you know what…? I can only think of one answer…My son…This man has said or did something about my son…How am I doing?”
“Fine, sir…” Ohno answered with a brisk nod and Akio hummed again his eyes narrowing with some anger and Ohno wondered how Nino thought that this man didn’t care about him. Oh he knew that he wouldn’t have as much time for him as they both would have wanted but it was pretty clear to anybody that he loved him.
“So…What did he say about my son?”
“…He claims that he has photos of Nino and me and is threatening to sell them to the press…” Ohno answered slowly watching the expression darken even further as his lips became very little more than a thin gash in his face. “I overheard him on the phone…”
“I see…And you didn’t think to offer to buy the photos yourself?” Akio hummed as Ohno knew that he would. It was pretty common practice for them to buy photos that might be deemed scandalous before it hit the papers and Ohno sighed screwing his eyes closed before nodding and admitting;
“I…Did…But…It’s more personal to Thomas than just money…”
“I see…He is a former lover?”
“…Somebody that I used to have fun with before I met Nino…” Ohno answered slowly not wanting to give away more than he had to in case Akio decided to withdraw his support. “…He wasn’t very happy when I called time on our relationship…At first he threatened to win Nino over…I don’t know if he tried or he was bluffing but now he all he seems to want is to hurt me and he doesn’t care what will happen to Nino…”
“The tangled webs we weave, Ohno-kun…” The prince sighed looking at the table “I had hoped…The palace seemed satisfied…The reports that they were getting from the school and even Kazunari’s own letters to his mother and me had us all convinced that his scandal days were over I had hoped to turn his transformation into a positive spin so that you might continue your association in Japan but…This…I understand youthful rebellion and given what you have had to endure I would even support it but…I don’t understand how you could be so foolish…You have no not only jeopardised yourself but my son as well…Like Kazunari said the family might have been prepared to accept your relationship given your special circumstances but…”
“…I know that I have been an idiot…” Ohno admitted the full weight of what his callous and almost cruel actions had done to ruin his future happiness fixed firmly in his mind now. He was surprised at how much the prince had wanted to support them but he supposed that it was his way of trying to connect with a son he almost never saw “I am fully aware of how much my past actions might hurt Nino and I know that you have every right to withdraw any and all support that you may have given our relationship…I doubt that I will ever be able to make up for the actions I have done but…I am sorry I have no intention of stopping my relationship with Nino…”
“I beg your pardon?”
“I will talk to Nino and tell him what has happened…If he forgives me and still wants to go on a date with me then I won’t give him up and I swear to you that I will do everything in my power to stop this before it hurts him…”
“…And how do you intend to do that?” Akio asked with just a touch of a sneer to his voice but it was enough to have Ohno on edge “You have said yourself that this man only cares about hurting you…I doubt that a heartfelt speech is going to convince him when the promise of money wouldn’t…”
“I…Don’t know what I’ll do yet but I will try and speak more clearly to him to get him to understand…” Ohno whispered hoping and praying that Thomas would see reason. Akio studied him again rubbing the bridge of his long nose before clicking his tongue against the inside of his cheek a spark of mischief appearing in his eyes.
“We could of course get a head of this man…” He hummed slowly “Put a positive spin on it…His pictures would be worthless then…Of course he could still try and sell his story but…I won’t get the approval of the palace before it gets out but…We have to get your father’s approval…”
“My father doesn’t even know that I’m gay…” Ohno spluttered reminded with a bump that his father was descending on him in the morning and it was even worse that he needed the man’s approval.
“I didn’t know about my son either but I got over it…Your father will as well…What do you say?”
“…We would need to talk to Nino first…” Ohno answered doubting that his little prince would be too happy about it. They hadn’t even had a date yet.

Date: 2015-06-26 09:45 am (UTC)I can't say anything about the incident cause well anger can really blinded someone. Even calm Ohno.
Hopefully nothing too bad would come when he told Nino about all these things.
