Kazu was doing magic tricks!” Masaki moaned loudly to his parents very nearly hating the self-satisfied look that floated over his dad’s face as he flipped over some rice to season it lightly. There had been a time when he was young that he had secretly resented Kazu and Masahiko’s close relationship. It hadn’t been serious because he loved his brother but, just for a while, he had hated the way that Masahiko seemed to be closer to Kazu than he was him. Of course it was just a child’s fancy he doubted that it was possible for Masahiko to favour one of them over the other but there was no denying that he worried about Kazu the most even now. “It’s not fair! Why would they be doing something so boring?!”
“Because Kazu loves your father and Satoshi loves Kazu…” His mum answered softly as she pat him gently on the shoulder causing Masaki to pout as he began poking at a fish that was waiting to be cooked and prepared. “Satisfied my dear?”
“Hmm…Maybe…” Masahiko hummed as his wife caressed the top of his head running her fingers through his hair before he growled
“Masaki stop poking that fish…If you’re going to touch it dress it otherwise start helping Yusuke…”
“Why doesn’t Kazu have to help?” Masaki grumbled lightly as he grabbed the fish and walked over to the chopping board not wanting to help Yusuke who was washing the pots along with their only other employee, a man so old that he had been there when it had been his grandfather in charge of the shop. He took the fish knife and carefully sliced into the belly to rip out the insides cursing when he accidently sent the knife in a zigzag pattern in the flesh meaning that he wasn’t going to be able to take out the insides without taking away some of the meat.
“Because he was helping all day and has been as useful as a chocolate kettle…Though you seem to be catching up with him on that score…What’s wrong? You’re not moping because of 500yen?”
“No! Not really I got it! Yusuke lost more!” Masaki laughed looking at his youngest brother who stuck his tongue out “I’m just…I dunno…Kazu feels like he’s grown up more than me! If it was me I would have been cuddling and kissing!”
“Of course you would…Anyone would at your age…” Masahiko laughed softly confusing Masaki even more “…But Kazu…He never does anything easy or by halves…He isn’t dating somebody your age…He is dating somebody that is only 10 years younger than me…An adult…So as such he will try and behave in a more adult way...I doubt it will be consciously…He won’t even be aware that he’s doing it…Which is why it is more important than ever that you are with him, Masa…”
“Why?”
“Because if anyone sees the fun in the world it’s you, my sunshine…” Masahiko said using the nickname that he had stopped using when Masaki had started getting embarrassed by it. It didn’t embarrass him at that moment though and he found himself grinning happily at his father “And I refuse to have Kazu growing up so fast just because of Satoshi…He already takes life too serious…”
“I promise I won’t let him, Dad!”
“Good…Finish that fish and then go and find Shoko so you can do that kissing and cuddling you want to do so much…”

A/N: Random Masaki/Masahiko father/son moment but I’ve over looked Masaki a little as well >.< Honestly we will be moving on soon ^_^
