krystalkatzficz “Here you go!” Masaki said cheerfully handing him a soft and fluffy towel that was warm from the radiator that ran against the wall beside the door. Sho took it silently still staring at the young man that had practically dragged him into his room without even asking for a name, he could have been anyone…Hell he was anyone…He was scum…He had been purposely hiding in the bushes to try and find a scandal and now he was stood in the hallway of what didn’t seem to be a hotel room but was actually an apartment. At the very least the photos that were hanging at an artistic angle seemed to be un-hotel like as they showed twin baby girls with the teen in front of him. “The forecaster said it was going to rain so I always leave a couple of towels on this! It’s nice to come back to a warm towel, ne?!”
“…Yes…Thank-you…” Sho managed to say pulling his eyes away from the photos to look at the teen who was smiling at him like they were old friends. “I’m sure the rain will let up soon…”
“Maybe…Would you like a drink? Or some food? I have plenty!” Masaki said kicking off the boats ungracefully and pushing them over the tiles with his toes before stomping off into the suite of rooms and leaving Sho to follow suit though he personally thought he should turn and run.
“…Um…Do you have water?” Sho asked softly staring at the young man’s back as he moved behind a kitchen counter that proved that this wasn’t a hotel room but was actually his own apartment. Masaki gave an easy nod and pulled open an American style fridge freezer revealing more bottles of water than even he had in his apartment.
“Yes! What kind? I don’t like plain but I have peach, strawberry, apricot, blackberry…”
“Peach…” Sho answered cutting him off quickly and Masaki nodded smiling again as he pulled out a 250ml sized bottle of peach flavoured water and tossed it at him with all the ease of a former athlete. “Thank-you…Um…I’m Sakurai Sho…”
“Aiba Masaki! Nice to meet you Sho-chan!” Masaki beamed bobbing his head up and down immediately using a cutesy nickname like he would have done if they were on one of the man shows that were now attached to him. It was exactly the kind of attitude and persona that most tabloid journalists were trying desperately to prove was fake, it seemed to be every editor’s dream to prove that there was a darker side to the teen, something that he wasn’t showing to the world. Sho hadn’t been convinced of it, he had watched a lot of the boy’s shows and he always seemed to be consistently bright and bouncy having a smile for anyone and even now that seemed to be the case. “Are you sure you don’t want anything to eat? I have cream cakes…With strawberries and syrup…I can’t eat them all by myself Sho-chan! Well I can, but then I would get fat and my manager would get cross with me…Please!”
“Okay, to save you from yourself…” Sho chuckled doubting if it was normal for somebody to beg that somebody else eat their treats but it didn’t seem to matter to Masaki who just beamed brightly at him again and pulled out a box of very expensive cream cakes. Sho knew that they were expensive as he recognised the label as being from a place that he had always wanted to be able to have a cake from but wasn’t prepared to go without eating for the following week just to do so.
“I got given these today so I’m sure they’ll be okay!” Masaki said bouncing over the room and motioning for him to follow into a sitting room. It was cute and cosy painted in surprisingly soft colours that gave the room a calming quality. The chairs were plain chocolate brown with cream coloured cushions with a splash of colour being given by smaller bright green cushions. It wasn’t what he would have expected in the apartment of a teenage boy but nothing about Masaki seemed to be average and he felt pangs of guilt that he had been ordered to find out something dark about the seemingly nice guy.
