krystalkatzficzKazu chewed nervously on his lips looking at his dad’s back knowing that before he asked Masaki if he wanted to travel with him he had to talk to his dad. It had sounded so easily when he had been on the boat with Ohno but now it was probably the most daunting thing that he had ever done and he wished that he had agreed to let Ohno be here when he asked him. He wanted to go on the trip he really did but now out of the happy fluffy rose tinted cloud that surrounded him whenever he was with Ohno he thought about all the things that he would he would miss and his dad was the biggest of all of that.
“Dad…” He said slowly embarrassed at how high and squeaky his voice was. Masahiko turned slowly to look at him a smile in his face and Kazu swallowed down a lump twisting his fingers so much that he was almost sure that his bones would break.
“What’s up?” Masahiko asked softly coming over to him and resting both of his shoulders as he peered into his eyes. There was a small smile on his face that calmed him down only a fraction but enough to make him smile “I thought you would be happy since you were allowed to be with your lover again…”
“I am…Um…Thank-you…” He mumbled deciding that that was a weird thing to be thankful for, meanly because it was his dad.
“That was a strange thing to thank me for…” Masahiko chuckled pulling an almost pained expression “Mostly because I was being held down by your mum…You should be thanking her…”
“You would have found that we weren’t there…Satoshi decided to kidnap us and take us to something called the lagoon…It was beautiful…With white sand and emerald sea…” Kazu smiled gently before letting it slip away when his father’s smile fell away just enough for him to notice it saying;
“Wow…And by us…You mean…Kazuko and Jun…?”
“Yes…We wanted to talk…But…It was awkward…She said somethings…” Kazu gave a sigh not liking the way the conversation was going but as he said the words he realised that more than anything he wanted to tell his dad about them to have him reassure him that he was loved and wanted. Masahiko’s eyes narrowed even more as his fingers tightened on his shoulders almost growling out his next question;
“What kind of things?”
“She told me that she held me for one whole day before giving me up…That she would have been a lousy mother and that she was glad she did...I’m glad too…I am but…I dunno a small part of me has always wanted…To know and now I do…”
“She didn’t want me…She loves Jun though…They’re going on a date…” Kazu blinked not realising that he was crying until his dad caught the tear on his thumb and pulled him into a crushing hug. They stayed that way for uncountable minutes before the man told him gently;
“…When you were small…Too young to remember…She came here…”
“Wh-What? When…How…”
“You were playing in the garden with Masaki I was watching you from the kitchen window…She stood and watched you play for almost half an hour…Until your ball escaped…and she picked it up for you…At the time I suspected…I didn’t know…Not until I saw here there that night and I knew…” Masahiko sighed slowly as he pulled himself out of his arms and give him a smile that Kazu barely recognised unable to believe what he was hearing “I don’t know what she said to you…I don’t know if she believes it herself but…She loved you Kazu and I honestly think that she wanted you…But she couldn’t…And even if what I’ve said is complete rubbish…I wanted you…From the moment that I saw you, from the moment you wrapped those little fingers around mine…And…Satoshi wants you and loves you…Enough that he was prepared to take me…Your mum and your brother’s around the world with you on a boat…”
“Ship…” Kazu corrected numbly his mouth dropping open “What…?”
“Ship…I told him though…I told him that I couldn’t be away for that long…The restaurant needs me…But Masaki has to go and if you ever want to come home at any point you have to get on a plane and you come home…”
