“Kazu, Taka…” Nino smiled shifting into his lion form and prancing around the two cubs that were yipping and meowing before giving a loud purr as he pressed his face against theirs. At three years old both his babies were both confident on their feet when in both their forms but like their alpha-father they appeared to be more comfortable in their lion forms. They were the cutest little cubs in the world. Takahiko a warm golden brown with a reddish tinge that ran down the centre line of his back and the very tip, his eyes were the same colour of newly ripened wheat. Kazuhiko was darker, a warm oak brown with a black stripe and tip, his eyes were also a strange and startling green when in this form. He purred loudly rubbing himself against the little faces before rolling them down so they were on their backs their little stomachs exposed into the air. He shifted again going back to his human form and pulling on a pair of trousers before allowing his hands burying into the silky fur on their stomachs. He tickled the little stomachs before laughing as they licked at his hands purring loudly with their imperfect voices “You two should change back too…It is time for dinner…Come on change…”
Twin sad meows escaped the mouths of the two cubs and then they looked at each other before shifting into their little human forms. They were beautiful like this as well, Takahiko a chubby miniature version of his father, though his hair was a tinge redder than Ohno’s was while Kazuhiko a mini-Nino with a mop of black waves that framed his thinner face. Both were so special to him, he had carried them inside of him, felt their movements and now he cradled them when they cried, tended them when they scrapped their knees. He could remember thinking once, when he had learned that the babies were inside of him, that he couldn’t love them as well as he could but the moment that they had come out of them he had loved them with his whole heart.
“You are my beautiful babies…” Nino whispered gently pressing his hands to both of their cheeks his thumbs moving under each eye.
“And you are my beautiful, mate…” Ohno’s voice said from the cabin and Nino turned to look at his lover a smile spreading out over his lips. “You make such a beautiful picture…”
“You should join us and it would be even better…” Nino said beckoning him over and Ohno gladly came the smile on his face getting wider as he did so. The twins moved around to face their father twin smiles forming on their cherubic little lips. Their smiles were the only things about the twins that matched and Nino wanted to cuddle them every time he saw them. Ohno dropped down in front of him so they were almost circling the pair the way that they often did when they were in their lion forms. Kazuhiko scrambled onto his alpha father’s lap and placed his little hand on his cheek saying in his cutest voice;
“’Ove ‘Ather…”
“I love you too, Kazu…My little prince…” Ohno chuckled pressing his lips to the thin pale cheek before allowing him to take his fingers in his cute little hands.
“’Ow…Ow Ow ‘Our ‘Oat…” The little boy sang loudly rocking slowly backwards and forwards causing Nino to laugh out loud taking Takahiko’s hand and doing the same with him as they all started to sing.
“Row, row, row your boat, gently down the stream, merrily, merrily, merrily laugh is but a dream…”

Ohno chuckled as he watched the twins singing along with the very human nursery rhyme that Nino had taught them. They were stunningly beautiful, in his mind perfect examples of why he and his mate were meant to be. There had been mockery from some of the other prides when he had taken a human as his mate…His Queen…But now he had two fine sons that anyone could be proud of. Kazuhiko was more timid than his brother it was true and he stayed beside his birthing father whenever he could but Takahiko…Takahiko was already his little champion, he was born to lean and if it happened that he was to meet his maker sooner rather than later then Takahiko would grow into a fine alpha to take his place. He loved both his little babies with all of what was left of his heart after loving their father. The sound of the twins’ laughter brought him out of his thoughts and he looked up to realise that the song was over and Nino was getting to his feet holding Takahiko in his arms.
“Come on…Time to eat…I made you something special…” Nino said leading them into their hut where Ohno had been smelling the delicious scent of cooking for most of the day. As a pure blooded were-cat he was fine with raw meat but his mate had been human once and as they lived so close to a human town it was right that the twins learnt how to blend in. Besides Nino always made the tastiest meals.
“Coming, Nino…” He said jumping easily to his feet and swinging Kazuhiko up onto his shoulders where he immediately started shouting and laughing pulling at his hair as he bounced up and down. Ohno gave a loud chuckle, clicking his tongue against his teeth and pretending that he was a horse as he galloped into the cabin. He ran in three complete circles around Nino and Takahiko before stopping and letting neighing sound nuzzling his face against his cheek blowing a wet raspberry on Takahiko’s.
“Stop being a fool…What would you say if the rest of the pride saw you like that?” Nino giggled two happy pink spots of colour forming in his cheeks as he waved him away and Ohno neighed again sitting on the stool that he had made out of an old tree stump placing Kazuhiko down on to his lap.
“Not much, since I’m horse…” He said causing Kazuhiko and Takahiko to let out a round of high pitched laughter.
“You’re an idiot…Get Kazu dressed…” Nino mumbled rolling his eyes and throwing him the clothes that both his children hated wearing. If he was honest Ohno hated wearing the constricting human clothes as well but again it was one of those social normalities that they had to endure just in case some busy body from the village came snooping, it would be awkward if the pride were strolling around in their birthday suits even if it did feel more natural.
“Kazu…Come on I know you don’t like it…” Ohno sighed watching his son break into tears as he got off of his lap as quickly as possible before running away to the furthest side of the cabin quickly followed by his brother. It was almost amusing for him to watch them trying to shift into their lion forms when he knew that they had already used up all of their energy to do so “It’s not that bad…Daddy and Father are wearing them…” He said pointing down at the trousers he was wearing while giving them a coaxing smile hoping that for once they would listen to their alpha but of course they didn’t. A second later two little bottoms were scurrying under the double bed that he shared with his mate.
“Aww the big brave Alpha can’t even get his children to do what he wants…I wonder what people would say if they knew” Nino teased, it was only playful teasing but Ohno took it to heart his cheeks burning with embarrassment and he let out a small tiny hiss darting under the bed and grabbing his children gently pulling them out as they gave a pretty impressive fight. Ohno let out another sound and the boys fell silent their heads hanging in submission and he gave a pleased grin to his mate, who just laughed more loudly “Can’t do it without growling and getting all lion like…”
“I could make it work on you…” Ohno huffed as he put the clothes onto the babies and Nino’s laughter stopped almost at once. The alpha turned slowly sensing that he might have said something wrong but when he looked at Nino the man was smirking his eyes shining in a way that always excited him.
“No…You really couldn’t…And you like that about me…” Nino purred in his best seductive voice “You like that I am the only person in the world who you can’t control…”
“I do…My beautiful, mate…” Ohno admitted his whole alpha side rebelling but he ignored it, finally managing to get the wiggling babies into their clothes. He carried them over to the fire and sat down with them on his lap smiling at his lover who took them and placed them into their own chairs before sitting next to them. They were a strange pride, Ohno would happily admit to that, but he knew there had never been a happier one.
