Jun sighed softly as he sank down into the sand next to Kazuko, aware that Kazu had vanished onto the boat a while ago saying something about food leaving them alone. It was growing dark and Jun was tempted to start a fire but he was positive that he would make a shit job of it and embarrass himself in front of Kazuko. He looked at the woman beside him surprised at how at ease she seemed to be. She was laid out on the sand with her hand over her eyes staring up at the stars that were coming out through the gap in the cave. This place truly was a paradise and he almost wished that they could stay here forever.

“Satoshi…And Kazunari…”

“They love each other…” Jun almost hissed and Kazuko sighed sitting up and holding onto his arm to silence him as she muttered slowly;

“Will you let me finish…? I know that I haven’t handled it very well but I was just going to say that I think they are good for each other…I can’t pretend that I don’t find it weird but…”

“Kazu is good for Sato, he makes him take things seriously…While Sato…I think he makes him actually act young…” Jun hummed knowing that he didn’t want to talk to about Ohno and their son at that moment. “Kazuko…Neither of them were lying, you know?”

“About what?” Kazuko sighed softly looking at him with her head cocked to one side looking almost nervous and Jun swallowed down a thick lump of nerves from his throat. Jun sighed deciding that if this went wrong he was going to blame it on the atmosphere and the Lagoon.
“I have loved you since I was 15 years old…I searched for you…” He whispered slowly doubting that her parents would have told her that. Kazuko gave a smile grabbing a handful of sand and running it through her fingers as she stared out over the emerald sea her eyes looking distant and shadowed before she blinked and turned to look at him as she said gently;

“…I know…You almost caught me a few times…And more than a few times I tried to write to you…” Jun tensed his own hand moving through the sand to the left of him enjoying the warmth that was still clinging to the sand. “So many times in so many different ways I tried to write to you…To tell you that you were a father…To tell you to look for him...Those letters I ripped up pretty quickly but the other’s…I got as far as the post office…”

“And what was in those letters?” Jun asked shifting around so he was sitting in front of her so he was almost in between her legs. Kazuko gave an almost shy smile playing around with her wet hair before she fixed him with a fierce stare saying;

“Each one opened with…My dearest Jun, I love you, I have loved you since I was fifteen years old and I still love you now…Please…Tell me…That if I came to you…Would you please tell me that we can go on a date and maybe see if we could make it work…”

“Yes…I think that we could…”
