“Is it wrong of me to wish that we could have stayed in our other forms until they were aged up a little more?” Nino asked softly as he pulled himself out of the warm baby and going over to the twins who had been letting out cries for most of the night. He was emotionally and physically drained. It had been so much simpler when they were in their lion forms as the cubs had just needed to sleep and feed and then play. Playing was impossible in human forms and it seemed that they had no idea why they were suddenly more restricted. Even the once peaceful Kazuhiko was crying loudly with pitiful little bursts.
“No, my little love, I am in agreement…” Ohno yawned loudly coming up behind him and resting his hand on the small of his back his thumb moving in slow calming circles and Nino was almost tempted to purr at the touch but instead he picked up Takahiko and cuddling him into his chest sighing with happiness when he fell quiet and nuzzled into him. “I think that they just miss having bodily contact with you…”
“…They’re going to have to get used to it…” Nino mumbled smiling as he felt his son’s little mouth opening and closing against his skin clearly trying to get a hold of a nipple that he would never have again. He walked over to the bed rocking his baby up and down watching as Ohno came towards him with Kazuhiko in one arm and the two bottles of warmed milk. “Sorry, my little prince but you have to get used to the other milk…You were the ones that were so eager to change…”
“That was a sign of your care, Nino” Ohno whispered kissing him on the top of his shoulder and handing him one of the bottles and Nino flushed a little filling with pride as he tried to tempt the body with the bottle cursing when he took it but spat it out again almost immediately letting out a cry his face screwing up as his hands around. Ohno seemed to be having only a little more success with Kazuhiko but it lasted only a little before he too was crying again.
“This isn’t going to work…” Nino grumbled with irritation before sighing and placing the baby on the centre of the bed. “I think for now we should shift…”
“Nino…Why?”
“They are used to our lion forms…If we shift maybe we can trick them…I’ll shift first and you can put the bottles under me…And place the twins near them…” Nino suggested wondering if any other mating pairs had these kind of the issues.

Ohno nodded at his mate giving him a reassuring smile as he patted him on the arm watching him strip out of his clothes and then shift into his lion form. Nino was rather small for a lion but Ohno thought that it made him look cute. His hair was an almost nut brown though with flicks of a copper in stripes down his back and around his face. His eyes were also a strange colour at least for a lion appearing to be a pale watery blue as they looked at him. Ohno reached out and stroked the top of his head his fingers moving through the soft fur and Nino gave his wrist a lick before nuzzling at the cubs who giggled with delight.
“I think that they approve…” Ohno told his love who flopped down exposing his belly and allowing him to slide the bottles under him soft furry belly which he gave a stroke laughing when Nino gave a swipe at his hand very nearly catching him with his claws. “Sorry…Come on then my little princes, let’s see if you will feed with you daddy now…” He picked up Takehiko and moved him slowly towards the teat that was sticking out of the fur. He helped the boy find the nipple and this time he latched on his hand digging into Nino’s fur. It was an awkward position for the boy to be in but he didn’t seem to be uncomfortable and, judging by the loud slurping noises he was letting out, he was actually eating and that was the most important thing. Smiling Ohno placed his more nervous child against the fur and Nino gave a purr causing both of the boys to let out happy noises the slurping getting louder. Ohno watched to make sure they were happily suckling before he removed his own clothes and shifted the bed dipping under his weight as he climbed up beside him curling carefully around the two babies.
Nino’s nose and mouth pressed against his in a gentle rub and licks. Ohno purred out loud responding to the loving movements before they sighed gently and looked down at the babies who were happily nestled in between their bodies. They were so fragile looking and so soft and pink. Takehiko’s arms were chunky as they waved around while Kazuhiko just happily lay there becoming their peaceful little prince again. The babies’ eyes closed tightly the snuffling and slurping until the teats fell out of their mouths and they fell to sleep.

Nino shifted back into human form wanting to use his hands to stroke over the tiny faces. Now that they were asleep he thought that they were pretty cute again and he knew that his heart was almost aching with love for his cubs. In his life he had never imagined that he would love anybody as much as he loved his mate but now he knew that he was wrong. His twins were incredibly perfect. The bed dipped as Ohno shifted and he looked up at him smiling happily as he pressed his lips to the human ones of his mate as he gave a human purr.
“I think we made something incredible…” He whispered resting his forehead against the lips and Ohno nodded in agreement pressing light kisses to his skin as his arm came up to circle around him and the babies.
“We did indeed…Our perfect little princes…”
