Trouble in paradise part thirty-one
Masaki pushed open his front door and stepped inside kicking off his shoes as he waved a nervous looking Sakurai in behind him as he called out cheerfully;
“We’re back!”
“We? Is Nino-chan here?” His mother called back happily coming in from the kitchen her face covered with flour and chunks of butter clinging to her chin and in her hair where there was also traces of burning. Panic flared up inside of him as he darted forward pushing passed the woman to look in the kitchen. It was a disaster area with batter clinging to every single work surface and cupboard possible while a tea-towel was blackened and still smoking gently with wisps of sour black smoke rising up to the ceiling.
“Mum! Have you been cooking again?” Masaki asked running through the kitchen and throwing the tea-towel into a bowl of water where it sizzled for a moment or two “Where’s dad? And Grannie?”
“They went to the store…I thought that I could do it today…” Aya sighed sounding so glum that his anger faded quickly and he smiled again going to grip her by the shoulders.
“It’s okay! You’ll get it eventually! Um…I brought someone to meet you!” He said cheerfully though his cheek grew faintly warm as he moved over to his lover his arms wrapping Sakurai’s well-muscled one. Aya’s eyes widened as they turned to look at Sakurai a grin forming on the plump lips that were almost exactly the same size and shape of his own
“You are Masaki’s boyfriend?” She gasped bouncing up and down on the balls of her feet and Sakurai nodded slowly while Masaki pondered that statement doubting that Sakurai qualified as a boy-friend since he was so much older than him but Sakurai seemed more bewildered than offended and just continued to smile at her even as she grabbed his hand in a very enthusiastic shake “Yay! I’m so happy to meet you! Masaki has told us all about you! I’m Aiba Aya…But please call me Aya!”
“I…Um…Thank-you! Sakurai Sho…I am pleased to meet you…I…Are you sure you’re Masaki’s mother?”
“Positive! You are a flatterer!” Aya giggled but Masaki could tell that his lover was being serious and he was actually pretty proud of his mum’s looks. They looked a lot alike everyone said so and they both looked like his grandmother…His grannie…So he hoped that it meant that in future he would look just as young as his mother did…Though he knew that she wasn’t very old herself, she had met his father in her first year of leaving school and they had been married six months later...In what most people would consider a gunshot marriage…As he was born on four months after the marriage it was clear that neither hung around for very long. Masaki gasped a little his eyes widening as he realised that his lover and his mother were probably the same age or at the very least around the same age.
“Mum is only 34…”
“…A year…Younger…Than me…” Sakurai said his face going a ghastly white shade and for one cruel minute Masaki thought his lover was going to make a run for it but Aya laughed clapping her hands together and causing a puff of white flour to fly up from her clothes as she nudged Masaki’s arms.
“It looks like you have my taste in older men too, Masa…” She snorted and Masaki gave a smile nodding when he remembered that his father was a full 11 years older than his mother was, “I guess we get that from grannie as well ne? My parents are seven years apart…Come through! Um do you like tea or coffee…?”
“I’ll make it…You’ll set fire to the tea bags…” Masaki grunted allowing the pair to enter the living room while he went into the kitchen hoping and praying that he wouldn’t lose Sakurai now.

When Sho realized that Aiba's mom is 1 year younger than him, I really laughed a bit too much. But I bet when he meets the dad, Sho can be rest assured that at least Aiba's father is 10 years older than him~
