“I now pronounce you partners for life…you may kiss…” The official said with a bright and happy smile. It was enough to make a person nervous, more so with the horde of family and friends that were watching behind them but Ninomiya Kazunari refused to be nervous. He had been waiting for this day for so long that there were actual genuine tears in his eyes as he moved forward just a fraction and his lips were over taken by the still soft and pliable ones of his lover…husband. Ohno smiled against his lips his hand coming up to ghost at his cheek for a second. The kiss was nothing too racy but it was enough to get his heart racing against his ribs even though at the age of 55 he should have known better. Nino sighed when he thought about his age, 55…and he was only just marrying the love of his life, the man that he had been with since a sobbed confession on his 15 birthday…40 years of his life had been spent with this man and he was determined that they were going to be spending another forty together as actual legal husbands.
“Happy Kazu?” Ohno asked as he pulled out of the kiss and Nino let his eye wonder around he face of his lover. He was still good looking even if his eyes were more sleepy looking these days and his mouth was lined with wrinkles. His hair was soft and shortcut was now peppered with grey. The once trim figure developed after years of dancing was still there but Nino could tell that he was starting to go to seed now.
“Yeah…I just wish…I dunno we should have done this years ago…” he mumbled knowing that he only had himself to blame that they hadn't. Ohno had been asking for years, since they were both in their thirties to be exact but Nino had been resistant to the idea afraid that they would ruin their career now he realised that that was unimportant, it had been legal for them to marry officially 21 years ago but he had refused putting his life on hold for the sake of the group had although Ohno had understood there had been pain in his face each time he said no “if I could go back…” He sighed squeezing the hand that was holding his feeling the ring on his finger cutting into his skin. It was the same ring Ohno had proposed with a all those times before and no the tears were painful against the back of his eyelids.
“Hey we got here in the end…” Ohno chuckled hugging him tightly his lips ghosting against his cheek. “We were right to wait…”
“But…We should have had longer as a married couple…”
“We've still got the rest of our lives…” Ohno smiled and Nino gave a weak smile remembering the last time Ohno had said that was 22 years ago when he had first asked him and he had first refused him.
“I know but…if I could go back I would…I would have said yes then…” Nino sighed a strange sensation washing over him as he felt himself falling back his hands waving frantically wanting to be caught before he hit the ground.

Nino’s eyes jerked open blinking up in confusion at the ceiling that was above him. The dream circled around and around in his head as he looked at his lover who was sleeping peacefully beside him. For a moment he was surprised to see him looking so young. He smiled a little and poked him hard in the ribs laughing when he jerked awake and looked at him with a sleepy and slightly grumpy expression on his face.
“Kazu? What’s up? I was sleeping…” He groused while Nino tucked himself under his arm his head laid on his chest.
“I had a dream about our future we were in our 50’s and had just gotten married…it was a good dream…but…I want you to ask me again...”
“Now?” Ohno asked in slight confusion and Nino nodded his finger drawing patterns in his stomach. “Fine…” His lover yawned hugging him tightly before asking “Ninomiya Kazunari…will you marry me?”
“Yes…yes I will…” Nino nodded pulling out of the hug to plant a heated kiss on his lovers lips that were as soft and warm as they had been in his dream. Smiling against the mouth on his he sighed happily glad of his weird little second chance.
