krystalkatzficzKazu stared into the face of his husband staring at the pleading eyes and he allowed his lips to twitch at the corners. Slowly he moved forward and very lightly pressed his lips to Jun’s. He couldn’t believe that he was doing what he was doing but he breathed slowly through his nose and was shocked when Jun’s arms came up wrapping around him tightly pulling him into his body. His whole body tensed as a tongue was pushed into his mouth and Jun drew him into a deeper kiss tilting his head back. It took him a long time to relax into the kiss that he had instigated but when he did he realised that the nerves were collecting inside of him again. It was the first time that he had felt anything since Jun had agreed to the duel and although it had left a horrible feeling inside of him he was almost happy the emptiness had faded away though he was horrified when he felt tears in his eyes. Jun broke the kiss and looked at him his thumb brushing under his eye taking away the tears before they fell and kissing them away. Kazu managed to smile just a little bit his hand reaching up to cup at his cheek
“Please…Win…Husband…I believe in you…” He said slowly and after Jun had nodded he found himself pulled into a hug that was broken by Lord Ninomiya growled out;
“Are we here to duel or what?”
“Forgive me, my lord…But the referee has not arrived yet…” Jun said turning away from him and Kazu held onto the back of the stiff outfit his husband was wearing. The rolling nerves increased as he looked at the man remembering the additional clause that had been added onto the duel. There was no doubt in his mind what the man wanted from him. In his mind’s eye he could picture the study that the man had taken him to and whipped him. Flinching he felt the sting of the cord cutting into his skin while a gentle hand came to rest on his back. Hissing back a breath he turned sharply his eyes wide and his breathing elevated though he relaxed when he saw the king standing behind him.
“Peace my little son…” Satoshi smiled patting him on the head and ruffling his hair. It was such a simple act but one that he had always imagined between a father and a son and the memory of his torture faded away like a puff of smoke “The official will be here soon, my lord…I have sent for somebody away from the palace…I assumed that you would wish for somebody impartial…”
“I suppose that it matters not…You will be able to judge first blood your majesty…I trust that you will be impartial…” Lord Ninomiya said in a fake simpering tone his head bobbing up and down more than any man that he had ever seen before. Ohno’s face was impassive as he stepped forward and inclined his head slowly saying;
“If that is what you wish, my lord then I will happily act as referee…If you will choose your weapons…”
“…Board sword…” Lord Ninomiya snapped marching over to the centre of the courtyard leaving Jun to follow. Kazu watched his husband’s board back moving over to the courtyard and then an idea formed in his mind. It was something that he had read that ladies did for their chosen lord in the tourneys of olden days. He wasn’t a lady but he suspected that his husband would like it. The nerves were running rampant inside of him as he hurried forward towards his husband.
“Husband…I…I…Have…I have a token for you…” He breathed almost regretting it as his half-brother let out a cutting laugh snorting;
“A token? Just because you are married to the prince you do not have to act like his bitch…”
“…I…I…It…It was stupid…” Kazu breathed turning around almost tripping over his own feet until Jun’s hand came out and stopped him from falling.
“Nothing that you do can be stupid…I would be happy for your token, my husband…” The prince told him and Kazu gave a very small smile and took the dagger from Jun’s boot and cut off a lock of his hair and handed it to his husband who kissed it gently “I will keep it over my heart and know that it will protect me…” He whispered and then very gently slipped it into his tunic over his pocket. Kazu nodded and then gave the best smile that he could manage muttering one word before stepping to the side lines to stand beside his brother Masaki.
“Win”

Jun smiled happily as he turned back to the lord. Hating the looks that he was getting from the men he stood beside his friend and second taking the broad sword that his father handed to him. There was a look in his eyes that he understood and nodded slowly his lips twitching just a little bit.
“If both of you are determined to go ahead with this folly then I suggest that you face each other…” Satoshi told them both looking from one to the other and both Jun and Lord Ninomiya turned to face each other while Sakurai and Yuichi did the same. “Bow…”
“Fair match…” Jun said to the lord before bringing the sword up in front of his face and bowing down at the lord while Ninomiya did the same. There was a strange atmosphere over the courtyard and he had to admit that he had never felt such a strange prickle of excitement running over him as he did at that moment. After they had lifted from the bow Sakurai and Yuichi moved to the side of the courtyard and the two duellists stared at each other with cool and calculated expression on their faces. Jun was barely aware of his father motioning for them to begin but he was aware of Lord Ninomiya dropping into a stance that Jun recognised from last night and he quickly fell into his own.
He brought the sword up and allowed his mind to go blink, he knew that at some point he would have to remember all the things, Kazu, Masaki, Sakurai and his father had told him but for now it was down to him. For a while he would have to fall into the traps set by the older man so that it would look like he was going to receive victory so that he would fall into his and his father’s trap. They had decided last night to make the death look like an accident, there was little chance that the Lord Yuichi would not go to war but it would do them no favours if it were found that they had intentionally caused the death of the lord. He watched lord Ninomiya raise his sword in the way that Masaki had and he lunged forward his sword barely scraping against the shirt of the older man before he ducked at the last minute his hair caught and cut on the sword. Silently he thanked his husband and brother-in-law knowing that without their guidance it wouldn’t be a lock of hair but his eye that had fallen to the floor.
He rolled on the cold stones away from the badly flailing sword thankful of the protection of the padded suit. Before making a swipe at the man’s legs. Lord Ninomiya missed him easily and let out a cold laugh before taunting him;
“Is this the best you can do boy? Is this all the bastard means to you?”
“My lord…I have yet to show my feelings…” Jun said jumping back to his feet and cursing himself when he almost felt the cold blade against his cheek. “If you like I will show them to you…”
“Then do so…So far I am unimpressed…”
