An OhMiya chapter
Nino looked up with a smile as he saw his friend walk into the store with more of a spring in his step than normal, even for him, and sure enough there was a huge smile on his face. It was so big that he couldn’t understand why his cheeks weren’t hurting from the effort of maintaining it. In his hair was probably the most outlandish sparkly hair grip that he had ever seen and he could easily tell that it wasn’t something that Aiba would buy for himself or could even afford. It also looked old and not just chic age either and he couldn’t help but let out a whistle as Aiba approached the counter.
“I take it that all went well…?”
“Yup! Best date ever!” Aiba screeched grabbing his hand and pulling him out from behind the counter and forcing him into a little jig. “It was amazing, though I got a little drunk! But it was okay!”
“Okay…Chill out a little…” Nino growled as he was almost waltzed into a shelf of chocolate that he had spent an hour watching the new day shift brat stack into a difficult pyramid formation as punishment for looking too long at his lover. There was probably nothing sexual in the look but he didn’t care he wouldn’t forgive anybody that looked like they were getting too friendly with his lover. Ohno was his and had been ever since he was five years old. Aiba gave bubbly sounding giggle his face positively glowing with happiness. There was nothing new about that, Aiba glowed if a kid smiled at him or an old woman thanked him but there was something different about it today and he was thankful that he wasn’t going to have to tell his lover to go and kill the mysterious scarred author. “Now you can tell me, what happened?”
“…We had dinner and then we stayed up all night watching the stars until the sun came up! It was amazing…!”
“It does sound like a great first date” Nino agreed indulgently ruffling his friends hair, it sounded an incredible first date if they were in Aiba’s paradise. He hated being outside but there was something special about the garden that his friend had poured so much time and love into. “Of course it can’t beat mine and Samii’s!”
“Didn’t you feed him a mud pie with a worm and water with rose petals in it?”
“Yup…” Nino smiled fondly his eyes taking on a glazed over expression as he lent against the counter and folded his arms over his chest. He could still remember his five year old self marching over to the landlord’s son and offering him the mud pie complete with bright pink wiggling worm and a capful of sour looking water. The teenaged Ohno had stared at him through the thick curtain of bleached blond hair and to his amazement had smiled and thanked him before taking it out of his tiny hand and eating the whole thing with one gulp and washing it down with the water. Now he would think it was disgusting but as a child he had been delighted that Ohno had eaten the concoction when everyone else only pretended and it had made the man into something of a hero to him. Of course Ohno never touched him until he turned 17 but in his heart he had become Ohno’s guy then. Even a six year separation and a failed marriage on Ohno’s part hadn’t come between them but there were still days when he lay awake just staring at the older man unable to believe that they were together.
“Urgh! I still can’t believe he actually ate it!” Aiba groaned his eyes wrinkling a little as his pulled a face looking grossed out.
“He did, worm and all…” Nino laughed his tongue rolling around the word worm just enough to cause his friend to go an even deeper shade of nauseous green. It took a lot to get that kind of reaction from his friend and he revealed in it when he could. “He slurped it like he was eating spaghetti!” he said snorting when Aiba’s cheeks puffed out and he swallowed deeply his hands over his ears the clip in his hair sparkling under the lights of the store and he had to once again question the wisdom of wearing something so pricey here. Though everybody knew that it was incredibly stupid to mess with one of the Ohno properties “Where did you get the clip?”
“Sho-chan!” Aiba answered looking relieved at the change of topic his hands going to the expensive grip his fingers running over the shape of the butterfly “It was his grandmother’s…”
“…Do you really think that you should wear it here?”
“…Yeah…Sho-chan asked me too, his grandma wore it every day…Its too beautiful to be put away ne…She was an incredible person, from what Sho-chan told me she was the only person that cared for him when he had his accident…”
“Accident?” Nino asked his interest spiking by this new information and he leaned forward his head tilting to one side “What…”
“He didn’t say and I didn’t ask…” Aiba barked sharply causing him to let out a sigh and hold up his hands submissively guessing that his friend wouldn’t have asked that “I told you I wouldn’t...”
“I know, I know but I can’t believe that you’re not interested in it…” He mumbled taking his place behind the counter when he saw the first customers of the afternoon rush pulling into the car park. Aiba just gave a shrug fingering the grip again before smoothing out his apron down his front and turning to face the mother and child that were regulars on Sunday afternoon.
For the next two hours they were kept busy by the steady stream of customers that were coming in and out of the store, barely getting time to have a thought to themselves. He didn’t mind it when it was busy as it seemed to make the hours tick by and he knew that it wouldn’t be long until he was back with his lover. Ohno hadn’t minded if he didn’t work but, as much as he would have loved to laze around in their apartment, it would have driven him insane and besides somebody had to be there to calm Aiba down. Without a firm hand Aiba’s enthusiasm for life could get out of hand and he would dread to think what would happen to the store if that happened. At around 6, the customers petted out again leaving them alone and dazed blinking at each other like they couldn’t quite believe that it had happened and they had survived.
“Drink?” Aiba asked nudging his arm and Nino nodded sagging physically into the counter and pressing his face into the cold wood.
“Jeez…Was it just me or was there more of them today?” He groaned positive that his head was spinning and his ears were definitely still ringing from the noise that had surrounded them.
“There were more…It was fun ne!” Aiba giggled as he made the coffee and Nino let out a groan that he couldn’t stop when the bell tingled.
“Oh…If that’s the reaction that you give me…” Ohno purred from the doorway and Nino pricked up instantly his body quickly forgetting how tired his was as he ducked under the counter and ran the short distance to his lover throwing his arms around his neck and raining kisses down onto the crooked lips while Ohno’s arms wrapped around his waist holding him close. “Missed me?”
“Of course I did…” Nino breathed smiling at his older lover laughing as he was walked backwards towards the counter. He had missed him even though they had only seen each other this morning. Aiba gave a laugh putting two coffee cups down onto the counter before taking his own and setting up position near the door watching for Sakurai to come. Nino felt his buttocks connect with the counter and smiled as Ohno let him go asking;
“Is Aiba…Okay…? He seems…Happier than ever…”
“He had a good first date…” Nino answered his eyes straying to the man that he loved like a brother hoping that Sakurai wouldn’t let him down now.
“Ah…Um…Mr 6:35?”
“Yup the one and only, hey Samii do you remember our first date?” Nino asked cupping the chubby cheek happy when he received a smile and a nod.
“You mean the mud pie? Of course I remember it took me weeks to get the taste of mud out of my mouth…” He answered with a frown and Nino giggled kissing the frowning lips his arms wrapping around his neck again barely noticing when the door opened early and Aiba was presented with a flushing but equally happy Sakurai.

A/N: I apologise I have no idea why this part was written in Nino’s POV other than the fact I wanted to give a little background on the OhMiya couple…There will be more every now and then >.<
