Nino smiled as he walked into the cabin and saw his older lover in front of a canvas paint smeared over his cheek and chin. The shaggy grey dog that they had picked up from somewhere he still wasn’t sure of was by Ohno’s side and looked up giving a lazy yawn and a slow wag of the tail as he saw him. Nino kept his eyes fixed on Ohno’s face aware that he hadn’t realised yet that he was there so lost in the painting he was working on. It had been 2 and a half years since they had done their midnight flit in to the night and he was amazed that they had been able to carry on uninterrupted for so long.

He had never thought about Ohno Satoshi as anything other than a father figure for a long time. If he was honest he had always been a little jealous of Jun for having such a loving father when his was a complete arsehole he was glad that Ohno had always included him in their father and son trips. He had never intended anything to happen, he had been half asleep when he had gone for a wee in the night and had ended up in the older man’s tent. Jun had treated it as a joke but that was the time when his view of Ohno as a father figure had changed. When he woke up in the milky dawn and saw him laid there next to him a shaft of light shining on his tanned face his body tingled with pleasure and he had gotten hard. Ohno pushed him down onto the bed his hand brushing against his cheek and jaw his thumb running over his lips. Their lips came together so naturally that Nino gave a sigh, his mind going back to three years ago.

“Ohno-san… Make love to me for real” Nino whispered in the older man’s ear holding him close not surprised when Ohno pulled away from him quickly. They had been fooling around for weeks but so far they had stopped short of full intercourse, Nino was beginning to wonder if there was something wrong with him though whenever he mentioned it Ohno flatly denied that with assurances that he was ‘perfect’ and ‘amazing’.

“I could be hit by a car tomorrow…” Nino shrugged adding ‘Hell my dad could kill me tonight’ in his mind, Ohno tensed enough at the car sentiment and Nino smiled brushing his fingers through his hair “I love you… Oh-chan…And even if we don’t last until you’re an old man I want to be able to look back and say my first time was with you…”

“Nino…” Ohno whispered their lips coming together both of them freezing when the front door went and Jun called out loudly

“I’m home! Papa, Nino are you still working?”

“Y-yeah…” Ohno called back quickly pulling on his shirt while Nino pulled up his jeans and sorted out his hair settling into a more natural looking position with his games machine in his hands as the door opened and Jun came in. “Welcome home…” Ohno said from behind a canvas. Nino wasn’t sure if there was actually even a painting but he was glad that Ohno had made up the excuse.

“Oh-no-san have we finished for today? My butt’s gone numb…”

“Yeah, we’ve done, thanks for this Nino-kun I’m really grateful…”

“You’re welcome Ohno-san…” Nino said getting to his feet and stretching, wishing that his lover wouldn’t stare so obviously at his stomach as he did so “J, do you want to come to the burger bar?”

“Nah I’ve just got in… Dad’s making chahan tonight right? Nino can stay can’t he?” Jun asked and Ohno nodded with a smile

“Of course…”

“I’m sorry for intruding…” Nino mumbled his eyes flicking to Ohno glad that he wouldn’t have to go home yet. It was a strange and awkward thing though to sit through the meal his body pressed close to Ohno’s it was almost painful. It felt worse when Mrs Ohno was being so nice to him, at some point during the meal he felt Ohno’s hand sliding up his thigh and putting something in his pocket. He excused himself to the bathroom and read it quickly ‘Meet me in the foyer at 8 o’clock xx’ Nino smiled his fingers running over the words guilt and delight fighting for place in his stomach. Delight won and he had to stop the grin that was on his face as he went back out into the kitchen area. He was glad that his father wasn’t in as he went home to wash and change. His heart was dancing against his ribs as he made his way down to the foyer at just before 8 o’clock. Ohno was already waiting studying a poster that was hung up on the wall

“Oh-Ohno-san” Nino whispered and Ohno turned and flashed him a wide beautiful smile.

“Are you okay?” He asked and Nino nodded his hand clenching on his jacket “Come on then…”

Nino followed him through the streets heading towards the train station a few streets away. As soon as they were far away from their apartment building they both relaxed a little letting out soft breaths and inching closer to each other. Nino had an idea of where they were going but he tried not to think about it, Ohno was an adult with a lot of experience and Nino was worried that he wouldn’t be able to satisfy him. A hand came to cover his and long graceful fingers stroking him, calming him down instantly. They got off the train at the next stop and Ohno led him to a hotel.

When they got into the light blue room Nino jumped onto the bed trying not to show how scared he was. He had wanted this, he had asked for this, so why was he shaking now that it was going to happen?

“Its okay to be nervous, Nino…I’m terrified…” Ohno whispered coming to sit on the bed and stroking at his arm and Nino looked up at him flashing a nervous smile and Ohno kissed his cheek his hand going to his back running down the centre. “I love you…”

“Me too…” Nino replied softly, his voice shaking as his body trembled “Oh-chan…”

Ohno smiled laying on the bed beside him their noses pressing together his arm resting on his waist.

“I love you” Ohno said again and Nino took a deep breath shifting forwards so their bodies were pressing together and his could feel the heart fluttering against the older man ribs letting him know that it was the truth, Ohno was just as nervous as he was.

“Me too…” Nino said again putting his hand on his chest “How did you get away?”

“I told them I was going night fishing…Jun wanted to come but I said no because he has school in the morning…” Ohno said and Nino smiled kissing his nose “We’ve got all night…”

“Why… For me…”

“I love you…” Ohno answered kissing him on the lips “I hate lying but if its for you…”

“I love you Oh-chan….” Nino whispered overcome with emotion as he buried himself against him. “I can meet him away from here Kazu, I promise that I won’t let your dad find you…” his lover whispered and Nino sighed hugging up to him even tighter glad that Ohno knew what he was scared of without being told. The night they had run away was the worst he had seen his father and it still haunted his dreams.

“No, it’s okay… If he’s already sent a letter he knows where we are…I’m sorry that you had to leave him…” He said and Ohno shook his head quickly

“… I asked you…”

“I love you Samii…” Nino murmured sleepily nuzzling his face into lover’s neck breathing in the warm sweet scent

“Mmm… I love you too, Kazunari…” was the sleepy reply and they both gave a laugh when the dog Bingo jumped up onto the bed stretching out over their feet and giving a loud yawn. Everything was perfect here he hoped that it wouldn’t have to be ruined, but whatever happened they’d face it together. There was no way that he was going to let Ohno go.
