“Isn’t it time?” Nino asked softly his eyes flicking up to the clock causing Aiba to smile happily as butterflies danced around in his stomach as he saw the hand turn around to 6:34. Just another minute and Mr 6:35…Sakurai Sho would be walking through the doors. It had been two months since he had finally learned the name of his mysterious costumer and Sakurai had been coming everyday but instead of just buying his goods he would come behind the counter and sit with him as he took a break. He wasn’t sure that the boss would really agree but as Nino had the man firmly wrapped around his finger so it was unlikely that anything would be said. Aiba lapped his lips as the hand moved slowly to the time and he nervously smoothed down the front of the apron as the door opened and Sakurai walked in wearing his familiar hoodie, mask and dark sunglasses. It was still an eerie thing to watch but Aiba understood why he did it now and by the time he reached the counter his face was uncovered and he was smiling nervously. “Hey…Sho-chan…” Aiba smiled lifting up the section of countertop and motioning him through.
“Masaki…Nino…” Sakurai breathed nodding his head at Nino who just smiled and gave a wave before going back to his game. This time of night was normally devoid of costumers so Aiba pushed Sakurai into the only real seat and then went to pour him a drink. “Have you had a good day?”
“Hmm…Better now…” Aiba answered happily and honestly, most of the day had been taken up by stock checking and stacking in between revision for his morning college classes. He was happy when Sho gave a pleased flush his gloved hand moving over the scarred section of face. He hadn’t seen it yet but he knew that the scars on his face weren’t the only ones that Sakurai had but if there was ever a time when he was allowed to see them all he knew that he would like them just as much as he did the ones on his face. “How about you Sho-chan?”
“Um…I…I guess…I…Um…Slept most of the day…”
“What are you a vampire?” Aiba chuckled at his own weak joke bringing him the cup of coffee and Sakurai shook his head slowly his black hair shining blue in the horrible lighting making him look younger more so with the slack jawed smile that was playing on his lips.
“Um…Just a writer…With a deadline” He mumbled as an explanation and Aiba hummed lightly sitting on a small packing crate against his legs wishing that he could loll against him or maybe rest his head on them. They looked like comfortable legs and it had been a long day. Sakurai had told him early on in their friendship that he worked from home as a writer. Other than an editor he would see about once every few months he had been a total shut in. It had been on the advice of a therapist that he spoke to over the phone that he had dared to leave his house to come to the store and Aiba knew that if he ever met that person he would happily kiss them for encouraging it. “…My…Book is finished now…”
“Wow! I can’t wait to read it…Ah…You still have to tell me your penname!” Aiba reminded him as he bravely reached out and touched his leg as a celebration and was very happy that he didn’t tense or pull away. When he had first found out that Sakurai was a writer he had tried to find his books but it had been to no avail and he half believed that he had been lied to until Sakurai had blushingly admitted that he used a penname. The man blushed deeply now sipping on his coffee before whispering;
“…Later…”
“…When?” Aiba asked his hand still resting on the thigh his fingers tapering up and down the ever so slightly worn jeans. Sakurai didn’t seem to mind, or notice, the action and Aiba hoped that it was the first. He had no idea what was between them but he wasn’t making much secret of the fact that he had…An interest in him. So far though Sakurai was just treating him like a friend and Aiba wondered if that was all he wanted. If it was then he would prepare his heart for that. Sakurai’s none gloved hand came down cupping at his fingers very briefly before letting him go saying;
“…When it’s out…I’ll…I’ll give you a copy I promise…”
“Yay! Will you sign it too?” Aiba grinned happily his fingers burning a little from where they had been touched and he knew that his cheeks were flushing brightly. He sneaked a glance at Nino who, as always had stayed silent, and was staring at his game as if it was the only thing that interested him but Aiba could tell by the smirk on his lips that he had been watching them and more than likely despairing on his behalf. Sakurai flushed a little deeper and swallowed whispering softly;
“Yes…Um if you’d like…”
“I would very much!” Aiba enthused excitedly bouncing up and down on the packing crate wishing that he had the courage to just ask him out or at the very least ask if Sakurai could possibly feel something towards him. His fingers grew slightly more daring as he thought that but they stopped when they were nearing the very top of his leg and he swallowed giving a weak smile and pulling his hand away and taking a sip from his own cup. They lapsed into silence after that but it wasn’t an uncomfortable one and Aiba thought that that counted for something more so when Sakurai finished his coffee but didn’t make to leave straight away. He did cover his face though when the door opened and Aiba stood up smiling with politeness.
“Hello and welcome…Ah boss!” He said softly his body tensing just a fraction as the owner of the store came in. He was around the same height as Nino with a crop of spiky hair and a rounded face. He looked…Sweet…But Aiba knew that he was faintly dangerous and very possessive of his lover who relished in that.
“Samii!” Nino cried his game completely forgotten as, with a surprising show of agility, he jumped over the counter and into the arms of the older man. Ohno Satoshi looked completely non-pulsed as his arms wrapped around the skinny frame but Aiba thought that there was a touch of happiness in the man’s sleepy eyes. “What are you doing here?”
“You don’t want me here?” Ohno countered softly and Aiba gulped stiffening as the eyes scanned the shop settling on the hooded Sakurai.
“Don’t be stupid! Of course we do…It’s just a surprise…Do you want a drink?” Nino asked pinching him in the gut and pulling his eyes away from Sakurai.
“No…I’m fine…Since when was it practice to allow costumers behind the counter?”
“Um…I’m sorry…” Sakurai said getting to his feet thrusting the cup at Aiba before trying to sort out his mask and glasses again.
“Oh…That’s him? Mr 6:36?” Ohno asked his voice losing the icy edge and going back to the placid sleepy tone they were all more familiar with. Nino gave a giggle kissing the managers neck as he nodded his hands moving up and down his back straying closer to his bottom than was polite for company as he all but purred;
“Yup…You don’t mind do you?”
“…No…Of course not…” Ohno closed his eyes his head half bowing to be polite and half just resting on Nino’s shoulder as he added “I apologise for being rude…”
“I…Um…”
“Thanks boss!” Aiba smiled reassuringly at Sakurai pushing him back down into the chair and picking up his own cup before waving them around “Another drink, Sho-chan?” He asked preparing himself for the refusal, Sakurai rarely stayed for two drinks so he was very happy when the author smiled a little pushing back the hood and whispering;
“Yes…Thank-you…Masaki…”

Guess I'll have to search for it.
This seems pretty interesting, what might have happened to make Sho this afraid of people?
