Nino sat in his gaming chair, his legs tucked underneath his body his eyes staring unseeingly at the TV screen that had been displaying the same ‘Game Over’ message for the last 20 minutes. His heart was hammering out a quick rumba against his ribs and his mouth felt dry and almost itchy. Jun was at his parent’s house for Sunday dinner and had told him that he would be telling them the truth. It had been a month since he had said that he wanted to tell them but it was the first time that he had had the chance. The schedules had lessened a tiny bit after 24hr TV but not much and this would be his only real chance for a while. Nino wouldn’t blame his lover if he bottled out it was a hard thing to say, even if he had bloomed since telling the others, but no matter what it was he was prepared to do what was needed to support him be it bad news or good.
His eyes flicked to his silent phone desperate to see a message but telling himself that it was a good sign that there hadn’t been one yet. He swallowed again and then hummed his thumbs rubbing over the joystick of his controller wondering what he would do if they reacted badly. He had met he Matsumoto’s a few times and they all seemed to be understanding friendly people but he knew that ‘coming out’ could change people. His own sister had taken it hard when she had first been told, she accepted it now and was happy for him but at the time she had called him a lot of nasty names, even though his parents had been understanding, even going so far as to tell him that they had been expecting it, the music on the TV had long since become an irritating buzz in the back of his mind but the weird ending music felt like it was foretelling something.
“Don’t be stupid…” He muttered to himself aloud hating it when his voice came back to him. The apartment felt too large and empty now that he was used to being with Jun. Every spare moment they had they had spent together and recently it felt like he was seeing more of Jun than he was his own reflection and the only thing that surprised him about that was the fact that he didn’t care. He had never been the clingy type, all of his exes would vouch for that, and he always thought that maybe it had something to do with being around four other guys for the majority of the time that he liked time alone. It wasn’t like that with Jun though even though he saw him all the time at work it was like there was two Jun’s…The idol Jun and then his lover Jun and he enjoyed spending as much time as possible with both of them.
“Kazu…” Jun called softly from the hallway and Nino felt his heart give a thud that was almost audible as he turned around quickly as Jun came in trying to guess what mood his lover was in from his expression.
TBC
A/N: I hope that this was okay ^_^
