krystalkatzficzJun almost fainted as they walked out of the cave and out into what happened to be the most beautiful meadow that he had ever seen. A deep purple sky was above them with dozens of the swaying silver trees with autumn gold leaves and the grass…Well he thought that it was grass that he was standing on felt almost warm under his and was the same burnt gold. The air around them smelt a sweet as honey and blew at their air. Not too far away by a deep aqua blue stream stood Aiba, Ohno and the Chipmunk human. Aiba was happily wearing a loin cloth and was talking rapidly to Sho as if it was completely normal that he could speak to him. Ohno turned first and Jun had to wonder if there had been a mistranslation or if brothers meant something different here.
Ohno was attractive…More masculine looking than Nino with short cropped hair that appeared to glow a light gold colour. He too was wearing a crown but he was too far away to see what it was clearly. From here he could see that he was deeply tanned and his torso was rippled with muscles that were perfectly formed…But for supposed twins they were as different as night and day.
“You seem confused…” Nino whispered as he brought his hand up waving a greeting at his brother who copied the action before turning back to Aiba and Sho. Jun gulped feeling stupid for getting all jealous over somebody that he’d only just met but there was definitely something about the young healer that was beside him.
“I thought…You were twins…” He mumbled and Nino laughed softly nodding his head and causing his long hair and the crown of roses to glitter in the sunlight.
“We are…Ohno was born under the sun at midday while I was born at midnight…Ohno is the priest of the sun while I’m the priest of the night…” Nino told him gently and Jun had to admit that he was baffled but still calm. The sedation aspect of the treatment must have still been in place and if it wasn’t then just being near the beautiful healer had kept him from freaking out. The healer’s hand came up and stroked at his arm saying “I promise that it will make more sense with some explanations…We know who you are of course…Sho has already explained everything...”
“Jun! You’re awake, finally! What do you think? It’s beautiful here ne!?” Aiba asked bouncing up and down with excitement as he and the healer reached them. “Sho-chan It a humanoid! But that makes sense because Sho came from here…”
“What? Wait slow down…” Jun breathed grabbing a hold a tight hold of the crazy scientists arms holding him tightly trying to keep him steady trying to work out what was going on. Everything sounded so crazy right now and he still wasn’t sure that he wasn’t in a weird coma dream.
“There was an accident and I was sent through a portal…” Sho said softly and Jun started looking at him with a still doubtful expression on his face. “I found Aiba-chan…And well I managed to give him the idea of multiple worlds and he rolled with it…Working on his machine until he got it right…”
“I should have guessed that he wasn’t a normal chipmunk! I’ve had him since I was thirteen…” Aiba said cheerfully as if that was a normal thing and Jun was once again reminded how crazy his mentor was. It wasn’t a comforting thought and all at once the panic that he had been ignoring came rushing out all at once, his heart beating rapidly against his chest and his breathing quickened. He took a half step back from him and into the arms of the healer who wrapped them around him like a tight security blanket.
“Just relax…” Nino whispered, casually kissing his neck, and Jun was relaxed floating around in a swirl of happiness and calm a little like a fuzz of alcohol before the actual drink settled in and made you actually drunk. “Everything will be all okay…”
“But…How…” Jun muttered his mind reeling as it tried to fight it from taking over. The little arms tightened around him the lips brushing against his sweaty skin once again as whispered;
“Relax…” Jun sighed his eyes closing as his body relaxed into the arms pressing against the body all tension leaving him and making him feel as if he was floating around on a cloud. It was a strange experience but not an unwelcome one feeling as if it was all okay now. “Good boy…”
“How did you…End up as a chipmunk living on earth?” He asked the chipmunk his eyes opening again the warm blanket staying around him holding him firmly but no longer completely stifling his brain functions. He stayed close to Nino though, surprised at how warm his body was. It helped to ground him even though the absurdity of the whole situation was starting to terrify him. He was here in a strange world with people that seemed far to understanding of it all. From what he had seen they were far more primitive than his own world but they didn’t act as though an interplanetary spaceship was anything out of the ordinary.
“That was my fault…” Ohno mumbled holding up his hand and looking a little embarrassed his cheeks flushing under his tan and Nino moved slightly away from Jun to wrap his arm around his twin holding him tightly as his continued to hold Jun.
“It wasn’t your fault we were only young…” The moon priest told him in the same soft voice that he had used on Jun causing the earthling to feel a rush of jealousy that he tried to fight but couldn’t. “Ohno was trying to control his powers and well…It wasn’t easy…Sho is our younger brother…”
“So he’s a priest…Chipmunk?” Jun asked wondering if Nino and Ohno were able to change into Chipmunks as well. Or if this was some kind of weird planet of the chipmunks.
“No, it doesn’t work like that…We’re priest because of the prophecy” Nino whispered with a gentle shrug and Jun knew that he was going to have to sit down and understand all of this at some point but at that moment he couldn’t help but notice that the moon priest’s smile was mesmerising “…Sho was teasing him and Ohno reacted badly…Turning him into a chipmunk and…Um opening a gate…That kind of sucked him through…” The man gave a blush of his own that lit up his pale cheeks whispering “I used my powers to try and help him but I wasn’t strong enough to bring him back then…As we got older and Aiba’s machine became ready his test runs weakening the barrier between the worlds Ohno and I were able to help him through safely…”
“So why did we crash?” Jun asked looking at his boss who flushed hotly finally losing some of his confidence as he shrunk down flashing him a guilty expression as he answered;
“I set the settings wrong…I…Over powered the machine…And they weren’t expecting us to come through…Not that soon anyway…”
“We were only connected to our brother…Ohno realised what was happening too late and he was there to save you but your machine broke…” Nino whispered jerking his head to the left of the meadow and when Jun looked his heart sank as he saw the broken remains of Aiba’s machine “…And you were injured…Ohno is talented at many things but healing isn’t one of them…”
“Fishing…” Jun whispered suddenly remembering what Sho had said before about his brother being a simple fisherman. It seemed that he was much more important than that “You said that he was just a fisherman…”
“It’s how I choose to live my life…” Ohno shrugged with another embarrassed look kicking a patch of earth “I like fishing…”
“As long as you complete the rituals with me…You can do as you please brother…” Nino chuckled his head shaking fondly. “Come let us eat and then we will explain more…”
