This is a rewrite of my fic
There were some things about being a vampire Ohno Satoshi hated and the slave shops made the list as his number one, he was strange then that he was here week after week listening to the weak pleas of human’s in cages with the thick, almost overwhelming, smell of fear lingering in the air. Everything about the slave shops turned his stomach making him want to vomit he couldn’t understand those that thought that the smell was beautiful.
Originally he had been forced here by his parents, this was only of the many forms of enticements they had used to try and make him more ‘vampire’ like though they never said that was what it was. They said quite clearly that it was just to oversee one side of the family business. Ohno was a pure blood vampire but more than that his family were the most respected of the ‘elite vampires’. His parents and sister revealed in it, using their power to lord it over humans. Ohno despised himself most of the time, more so when he was in this place, watching the half dead humans by sinking against the cages pleading with their eyes, he had believed that once he would be able to change the fates of those here but most where too far gone or too terrified to accept the help of another vampire.
He had tried several times to get out of coming here over the years but his father refused to allow him insisting that it was ‘character building’. Ohno had stopped arguing about it a few years ago, when he had first seen him, the beautiful human that hadn’t begged, he hadn’t smelt of the disgusting fear either the beating of his heart had been level. Since that day Ohno hadn’t been able to forget that human with the pale skin and bright eyes, even though he had never seen him again after that night. Ohno lived in the dim hope that one day he would be back here for sale again, though he wasn’t completely sure what he would do if he was or even why he was so affected by the almost rat faced boy.
“Ohno-sama” A heavy set vampire at the door said softly giving a polite bow they didn’t need to be overly muscular even the slightest of vampires could take on most humans but sometimes, humans asked to many questions and sometimes appearances were all it took to stop them from doing something stupid and ending up as lunch. Ohno returned the bow and stepped inside the building trying to switch off his highly developed senses the scent of the caged humans assaulted him as he made his way quickly to his booth ready to oversee the selling of human slaves.
The one thing his family had insisted on was that the buying and selling of human children was forbidden because even they weren’t that sick. But he knew that it still happened in seedy back ally deals, and even the idea of children being sold in that way made him thoroughly sick. He settled into the chair watching through the tinted window as each human was brought into the pure white room and sat in the wooden chair to be studied and bid on by unseen vampires in various booths that circled around the room.
The evening passed more quickly than it normally did and to his amazement most of the slaves were sold before midnight, and half past 11 Ohno looked at the docket raising his eyebrow when he saw that there was only one male human left, a twenty year old. Ohno stared in shock as the young man was brought in looking barely alive as he was tied to the chair.
The vampire flinched, audibly letting out a gasp that echoed around the tiny booth as he saw bite marks all over the thin pale body. The white and blood stained shirt he was wearing was barely being held together by thin thread. Ohno’s breath caught in his throat as his eyes moved back to the face and he realised that the human was staring up at him. He knew there was no-way the human could see him through the two way mirror, but it still felt as though he was staring right at him the most shocking thing was that it was the same face that had haunted his day-dreams for years, he inched forwards in the chair his nose pressing against the glass. On his computer screen bids had already started flash up and anger shot through his system, refusing to lose out on the rat faced boy again. The feeling shook him to the very core of his un-dead being and it prompted him to do something he had never done before, to bid on the slave. He was even more surprised when he won.
He re-checked the screen lots of times but it still said the same thing ‘Congratulation’s you win!’ over and over confirming that he had just spent half a million on the boy. He switched off the computer his fingers starting to tremble a little, as his body buzzed with a mixture of excitement and nerves. He left his booth and slowly walked to the holding cages dragging his feet as he went as if he was uncertain that he wanted to do this. A guardian vampire was sat beside the door of the cages and looked up in ill-disguised surprise when he neared him,
“Ohno-sama, I was surprised to see your name” He said with a polite bow “But I hope you will be happy with your purchase” Ohno nodded at him unsure what else to do, he had never bought a slave and most of the vampires that worked here knew of his disdain of the place.
“Is there anything I should know?” He asked like he had heard the others ask before and the guardian looked down at his chart,
“His former master said he had the tendency to... Snap, sometimes sir” he said after a while and Ohno blinked in surprise
“Snap?” He repeated, wondering what he meant and if was honest, the guard looked a little bit uncomfortable his eyes flashing like a cats in the semi-dark hall.
“He has a sarcastic tongue, sir... Though I’m sure someone of your breeding will easily…. tame him” He answered politely, though Ohno could tell he was thinking what nearly every other vampire thought, and Ohno didn’t blame them. It was impossible to believe that he was an Ohno, an ‘elite’ vampire. He knew he didn’t even look like a vampire and he acted like one even less, while most vampires would spend their nights hunting the streets for human blood, he would rather be fishing or in his home studio painting. There would be days where he would forget to eat at all if his best friend and fellow elite vampire Matsumoto Jun didn’t force him too. The guard didn’t say anything else though, just unlocked the cage and vanished inside leaving Ohno waiting nervously in the hallway. He played with a loose patch of wallpaper trying to calm himself, as a true vampire his heart did beat though it was only about once every time minutes, right now it was double that and it felt uncomfortable in his chest.
“Ohno-sama” The guard said behind him and Ohno turned licking his lips as he saw the human looking at him with a blank expression on his thin rat like face. Ohno stared at his new human almost nervously, his mouth was dry and he didn’t know what to say, he didn’t think ‘Hello I’m the guy that bought you’ would be the best place to start.
“I’m Ohno Satoshi” The vampire said quickly aware that the guard was watching him closely, the human bowed continuing to stare at him, and Ohno realised with mild surprise there didn’t seem to be any fear in his dark brown eyes and Ohno suspected the human was more used to this than he was.
“Master” He muttered though there was little to no feeling in his voice, it sounded flat and almost hollow, and there was nothing like the fire he had seen in his eyes the first time that he seen him.
“Um... Shall we go?” Ohno asked as gently as possible reaching out to touch his shoulder but dropping his hand away when he saw the boy give a mild flinch, and he sensed the guard having to keep his face blank as even more disapproval seeped from his pores, the little human looked astonished and very slowly he stepped forwards almost tripping on his bare feet and ignoring the look from the guard, the elite put an arm around his waist holding him close for support. As he did so he was met with a beautiful scent which washed over him completely and caused his teeth to ache. There was none of the stench of fear that clung to the others and Ohno had to force himself to calm down though his grip did tighten on his boy.
TBC
A/N: I know that this was originally a one shot but when I re-wrote it, it got much bigger (and more NC17 in places) so I hope that its okay for it to be chaptered now.
Next for rewriting is Lightning and Roses (I really have a thing for vampire stories ne? >.<) I’m trying not to have to write every day and stress myself out again but I do like to post you something to every day so this and Coming home will be post every day until completion (There are about 8 more parts to this umm… I think 8-/ Coming home I’m really not sure how many are left)
I am gently working on all my uncompleted fic’s and as always I will post a part when they become available… sorry for rambling I hope you enjoy the rewrite ^.^
