krystalkatzficzOhno waited until his phone rang it was longer than he was actually expecting and he had already taken Kudo home and was in the back of a taxi on his way to his own apartment when it finally went off with Nino’s name flashing up on the screen.
“Kazu?” He answered immediately answering the call resting his head against the window shocked at how tired and fed up his little lover sounded as he let out a sigh that pulsed through his ear before murmuring in a small voice.
“Yeah, it’s me…I’m sorry that it took so long…”
“What’s happened now?” Ohno asked knowing that the person must have struck again for his lover to sound this defeated and empty and his heart ached wishing that he could tell the taxi to turn around and go to him wanting to wrap him in his arms and tell him that everything was going to be okay but there was no way that he could do that and if he did it would ruin everything that they had been doing today.
“There was another note on my dad’s car, it said the same thing…”
“Oh Kazu, I’m sorry…” He mumbled with feeling, he had never truly hated anybody in his life before but right now he hated the person that was doing this and it was quite possible that when they caught the person that was hurting his lover so much he was actually going to hit them and hard even though he knew that violence wouldn’t solve anything “What did your parents say?”
“That they knew that it wasn’t true…And that they loved me no matter what…I wanted to tell them that it was true...” Nino told him and from the sound of bedsprings and sheets rustling Ohno could imagine him on his bed looking so small and forlorn that his heart pounded again after what had happened earlier in the karaoke this must have been the worst thing that could have possibly happened for him “I wanted to tell them about you, they deserve that kind of honesty but don’t worry…I…I couldn’t do it…”
“…If you did I wouldn’t have blamed you, and I would have accepted any punishment that they would have given me…I deserve it…” Ohno mumbled looking out of the window at the traffic that was flowing by. It was 9 o’clock but the road was still strangely busy and the mundaneness of it felt strange considering how messed up everything was for him and Nino right now.
“No you don’t, I love you Oh-chan and you love me…We’re not doing anything wrong…” Nino muttered firmly and Ohno laughed in spite of himself wondering why his little lover could be so simple about things sometimes even when he was normally the one that was a realest.
“I’m 11 years older than you what we’re doing is very wrong…” He pointed out and Nino gave another long sigh and Ohno heard something that sounded suspiciously like a baseball hitting skin and the image in his mind shifted to add that. Nino on his back with his legs crossed staring up at the ceiling with the old baseball, a gift from Junichi when he had first moved in, that he kept on his desk at all times flying up and down. The Nino in his mind looked so childlike at that moment that Ohno couldn’t see anything that was right with this relationship.
“I know but when we’re together it doesn’t feel wrong…” The teenager mumbled slowly the sounds of the ball stopping completely but the rustling of the sheets and the squeak of the bed got louder and Ohno decided that he was sitting up now and glaring at the mirror on his door “It’s not our fault that I was born a little later than you…In a couple of years it won’t matter anyway…”
“Nope…” The teacher said thinking that they should have waited those extra years but he hadn’t been able to help himself he had been drawn to Nino like he had been waiting for him forever and Nino was right when they were together it felt natural, perfect even, and he didn’t want to let it go.
“…Where are you? Still with Kudo-sensei?” His lover asked and although he was trying to keep it at by Ohno could hear the tang of jealousy in his voice and he was quickly reminded why he had asked him to ring, other than the fact that he wanted to hear his voice, and he swallowed a little answering softly;
“No, I’m in a taxi heading home…Kazu you don’t have to worry about Chiyoko…”
“Oh…It’s Chiyoko now huh? Well…That’s…”
“Seriously she knows about us…” Ohno said so quickly and loudly that he was uncomfortably aware that the driver was looking at him through the rear view mirror and he cast him an apologetic look as Nino hissed loudly in his ear;
“What?! How could you tell her? It will be around the school…”
“I doubt it…She’s dating Sakurai-kun…” Ohno muttered quietly stopping Nino mid flow and causing him to splutter a few times before managing to say;
“The nerd?”
“Kazu be nice…But yes, she even has pictures of them together on her phone…She only hit on me to help me out…Like your friend that seems to like kissing you…” Ohno said surprised when he couldn’t keep the jealousy out of his own voice and Nino gave a very light chuckle sounding better than he had when he’d first rang and Ohno was almost relieved that the old teasing spark was back in his voice when he said;
“Oh you don’t have to worry about Masa-chan, she’s completely harmless but…Well who would have thought it? Class president, goody two shoes Sakurai Sho…I’m so surprised…Who would have thought he’d have it in him?” The teenager let out a whistle and then giggle and Ohno found himself smiling along in love with that sound. “Wow…I bet that would disappoint half the horny guys in school…”
“I imagine so…But not me…Because I have you…” Ohno said not adding that he was as gay as the sun and women regardless of how pretty they may be held no attraction for him “You know that I’m completely in love with you right?”
“Yes…I know but I’m never going to get bored of hearing you say it…” Nino said and Ohno could easily picture the expression that would be on his face both spoilt but shy, the apples of his cheeks glowing brightly with more colour than they normally showed and his lips curled into the delicate, almost hesitant smile while his eyes would be shining with triumph. Ohno knew that expression so well because it was the same expression that he’d had ever since they had gotten together and somehow Ohno knew that he would never ever lose it no matter how long they were together. “I love you too old man…But just watch that you and she don’t take it too far…”
“Never…I’m almost home…” He told him reluctantly knowing that he would have to hang up as he started to see the familiar buildings of his neighbourhood and he heard Nino give a small sigh the sound of the baseball starting again “…Ah I almost forgot…I met your brother earlier…I want you to give him my address…We need to talk…”
“What why? He didn’t do anything did he?” Nino growled causing the teacher to let out a chuckle of his own while shaking his head even though he couldn’t see him.
“Nothing that a protective brother shouldn’t just give him my address okay? And tell him that I’ll be there any time after six that he wants to visit…”
“If he does anything…”
“He won’t…Now…You should get some sleep…I’ll see you tomorrow, okay?” The taxi pulled up outside of his building and Ohno pulled out his wallet his eyes on the meter wishing that he had taken the bus but he had known Nino would ring and theirs was a conversation that wasn’t fit for outsiders.
“Okay…I love you Oh-chan…”
“I love you more…” He muttered not blushing as he handed over his money to the driver and then got out of the car. He had decided long ago that no matter what he would never not reply to that statement and more than once it had led to some embarrassing situations but as long as Nino was happy he didn’t care. “Bye-Bye…”
“Take care…Bye-bi…”
