The Tattoo chapter two

krystalkatzficzThe staff fled in opposite directions as Nino strode through the main hallways few liked to be in the same room as him and even less looked at him. He was okay with that treatment what he didn’t know about poisons wasn’t worth knowing and there were rumours, ones that never made it to Takayuki’s ears, that even his skin was poisoned. That wasn’t true, not quite anyway, throughout his life he had been pumped with so much venom and poison that it flowed through his veins as surely as blood did but he himself was not venomous. In fact, if used correctly, his blood could be used as an antidote to any kind of poison that was known to man.
“Where is our lord?” Nino growled at one of the fleeing women who almost tripped over the kimono she was wearing a jug of water spilling on the floor.
“He…He is in the garden…Ninomiya-sama…He is with a guest…” She whispered and Nino hissed a little his tongue smacking against the roof of his mouth as he turned and changed his direction heading out into the garden. The sunlight had almost completely gone but the path was lit with torches that caused shadows to chase one another over the rock garden and small stream. He followed the sound of voices until he came to a clearing by an over grown purple hydrangea. His owner was sitting on a stone bench looking every inch the lord he was. He was beautiful, with a strong jaw and well trained muscles, his lips were full and his eyes were a deep brown that were so penetrating that even Nino would admit to being afraid him. His owner’s guest was standing against the koi pond, his back was too him as he arrived so Nino couldn’t see what he looked like. His hair was black and long tied with a grey tatty ribbon. It was the only thing that was tatty though, his clothing was tidy and clean but in cull greys and blacks not like his owner who was wearing blood red. The tall smiling guy hovering close by, serving them drinks from a small tray, Nino noticed that the boy was no longer smiling as much and there were shadows beneath each eye and he flinched whenever Sakurai’s fingers brushed up and down his arm. Nino walked forward and knelt down in front of his lord while aware of the movements of the other two.
“I have returned, Sakurai-sama…” He said softly. Sakurai’s hand came up and rested on the top of his hand his fingers gently brushing through his hair trimmed nails scratching the top of his head.
“Welcome home, you took longer than expected…”
“I apologise, my lord…But somebody had let him know that he his life was in danger…I am sure that a man like that had many enemies…” He said quickly defending the time that he had taken, not wanting his lord to believe that he had purposely stayed away from him. Sakurai’s hand slipped down the side of his face and then tucked under his chin tilting his face up his thumb running over his lips as he asked;
“You dealt with him?”
“Of course…Have I ever let you down, my lord?” Nino replied with just a hint of a smile as he kissed at the thumb. Sakurai chuckled and shook his head slowly bringing their lips so close together that Nino was convinced that he was about to kiss him. There was just the lightest of kisses and then Sakurai said;
“No…But there is always a first time…”
“Not with me, my lord, I would be dead before I failed you…” Nino swore tilting his head again and Sakurai chuckled his voice rich as he declared;
“You would definitely be dead after…”
“I understand…” Nino whispered with the barest of nods and Sakurai’s hand left his head as he said;
“Stand I want you to meet your next client…Ohno Satoshi…Satoshi, this is my spider…You wanted to meet him...”
Nino was able to hide both his surprise and disappointment, his surprise at the fact that a client was allowed to meet him and his disappointment that he was being sent away again so quickly. His eyes fell on the servant that was now sitting beside his master like a frightened lapdog before he turned hanging his head again in front of Ohno.
“I am pleased to meet you…” he breathed submissively making sure to keep as much of his neck on display as possible while remaining completely in charge at all times. There had only been one time in his life that he had been taken unawares and it wouldn't be happening again.
“And I you, I have heard much about you...but I was expecting something...different..." Ohno said and Nino had to fight the tremble that wanted to break over his body at the husked tone The Lord made. It was beautiful but with a deadly tinge to it the same as his lords but even more polished and Nino was glad The Lord ordered him to look up so he could see his face. He was almost disappointed at how plain the other man looked. His face was rounded and tanned, worn from outdoor travel and deeply set crow’s feet at the corners of each eye. It was a friendly face, which seemed odd when judged against his voice, but Nino was almost positive that there was something hidden that he could not see. Aware that he had been staring for almost too long for it to be polite he cleared his throat and asked;
“Different my lord?”
“I have heard many stories of the poisoned spider and many speak of your beauty but I think their stories do not do you justice…” Ohno answered freely and Nino found himself unable to fight the tremble the voice caused more so when the lord added “You are far more beautiful than I could have imagined…”
“Careful, Satoshi, my friendship has allowed you to see my spider when most are only allowed when their time has come but if you shower him with too many sweet words…” The threat was left hanging in the air but Nino could feel it and he gave a quick smile turning back to his owner and once again pressing his forehead to the floor by his feet.
“My loyalty is to you alone, my lord…There will never be a reason for you to doubt that…Speaking of which there was a group of bandits on your land, my lord…They were dealt with…” Nino whispered before adding very softly “They harmed, Takayuki…”
“I see…Then I almost feel sorry for them" Sakurai said dryly with a laugh that startled a bird that had started to roost in the tree for the night.
"I do not..." Nino spat with more venom than he would have believed possible towards already dead men. Takayuki was his pet and any that touched him deserved what they would get. He had been the one that found him, a half-starved, half drowned child in the stream and he sworn from the moment that Takayuki looked up at him with his empty but trusting eyes that he would protect him always.
"See Satoshi my spider is not as heartless as the stories would have you believe either…Even he has one that he cares about…A flaw that thankfully few know about..." Sakurai said in an almost taunting way and Nino forced himself to stay calm. Takayuki was his weakness he knew that but he refused to give him up, not even for his lord. Normally Sakurai found his attachment to Takayuki amusing, calling the boy his pet hound and even indulging him in allowing Takayuki a room away from the other servants, but today he seemed on edge and Nino had to wonder if it was due to the other man.
“That is far from being a weakness, Sho, to be able to care after all the deaths that your spider has caused shows his true strength I think…” Ohno said softly and Nino’s head whipped around so fast he almost caused himself pain. He was almost expecting the lord to be smirking at him but instead he found him smiling his eyes shining with a quiet but steady warmth.
“Hmm…Nino you may leave…Go prepare yourself…And Masaki for me tonight…” Sakurai snapped and Nino knew that he was upset that his friend hadn’t shared his opinion of his 'flaw'. Nino’s eyes went to the servant who had given a whimper at his words assuming that he must be ‘Masaki’. The boy looked truly terrified and Nino wondered if it was because of the experiences that he had already had with their master or if it was because he would be also sharing the bed with the spider.
“Come on” He growled getting to his feet and grabbing the man’s arm pulling him up to his feet, Masaki jerked stumbling and almost tripping as Nino led him away from the two lords but Nino gave him little time to recover angry that his reward was going to be invaded by somebody else. Masaki gave a sob and Nino hissed letting go of his arm spitting out “Relax it will not kill you to sleep with me, if it did our lord would be dead a thousand times over…He has enjoyed that pleasure more than most…”
“I…Did not think…You…” The boy stammered and flushed and Nino growled again turning and walking back into the house. He didn’t know who he was angry with the most, the boy for ruining his homecoming, his lord for suggesting it or the lord Ohno for the confusion that his words had caused.
