Jun smiled as he stepped back from the cake that he had made. It was a chocolate fudge heart shaped monstrosity that had whipped cream, chocolate hearts and gold stars all up one side with a milk chocolate heart with Kazunari in white chocolate in the centre. It was lopsided and some of the chocolate fudge ganache had slipped down pooling around the bottom but he was proud of his achievement and he knew that his brother would love it. He glanced at the clock on the wall and let out a loud swear when he saw that it was almost time for Masaki and Toma to be coming back with Kazu. The pair had happily agreed to help with his plan to make up for the forgotten Valentine’s Day because although Kazu had told him that it didn’t matter he wanted to prove how much he loved him.
The cake had taken longer than he had thought that it would and with a sigh he pulled off the apron and hurried outside to the gazebo he had set up that was more like a thick tent complete with heaters and net lights that covered the whole tent making it shimmer and shine like a fairy land. The table was laid with plates and the food he had prepared earlier was resting on the heated trolley giving a wonderful aroma of duck and orange all around the enclosed space. He knew that Kazu would be just as happy with something simple but he wanted it to be special, Jun looked down at his hands frowning at the scars and burns that were decorating them. He was positive that the pain was going to be worth it but it might take his hands a few hours to realise that. He picked up the packet of matches and had just started to light the long candles when he heard a confused but excited sounding voice behind him.
“J…Wha-What?” Kazu whispered his hand coming up to clutch at his shirt Jun spun around quickly with a flushed smile on his face as he extinguished the flame.
“Ah I was going to meet you…” He said his hand cupping his face and pecking at the soft lips “Did you have fun?”
“Y-Yes…It wou-ld hav-e been bette-r if you were the-re…Thou-gh…Wha-t is th-is?” Kazu stammered almost sounding like his old, less confident, self as he pulled away looked around in wonder at the soft purple and yellow tissue paper love hearts and confetti that had been scattered around on the floor and the silver and gold streamers he had hung up.
“I told you that I would make it up to you for missing Valentine’s Day…” Jun answered with a shrug wrapping his arms around his shoulders and pulling him into a hug that Kazu refused to settle into. He pulled away again after only a few minutes and turned back to him with a frown saying;
“I said…That you didn’t have to…I was already happy…”
“I know but I wasn’t, I love telling you how much I love you, I want to spoil you and let you know how special you are…” Jun told him, a blush finding its way into his cheeks when he realised just how true that was. The other day, two days ago, he had thought about how much Kazu loved this holiday but now he realised that it was him that loved having the excuse to express openly how much he loved him. Kazu’s mouth dropped open and then he gulped slowly his tongue darting around his lips his Adam’s apple bobbing frantically as he breathed a soft;
“But…I…Um…”
“Just accept it, Kazu” Jun grinned when the slightly older man flushed and spluttered for a few minutes more and then nodded hiding his face in his hands as he started to blush a hot scarlet.
“O-Kay…Um…” he whispered shyly not moving his hands from his face until Jun tugged them away and pulled him into an open mouthed kiss. Their tongues met and danced a little against each other and Jun stole away every last drop of oxygen from his brother’s body as he held him so close that he could feel the steady beat of his heart against him. He couldn’t count the endless minutes that they spent there just tasting each other but it still didn’t feel like it was long enough when they pulled apart with a moist pop. “J…Un…I l-love yo-u…”
“I love you more…” Jun breathed against the slightly swollen lips that buzzed with the feel of Kazu being so close. Years had passed since he had first heard those words from Kazu but every times still felt like the first, still gave him the same glow of possessive happiness that he couldn’t, and didn’t even want to, control. “I love you more with every day that passes…”
“Me…M-e to-o…” Kazu agreed with a bright grin on his face, his eyes shining with the truth of his words. Kazu had changed so much since they had been found out by their brother’s and then their parents but it was only in good ways. He would never get over his Asperger’s, that was there for life but he had become so much more confident that even extended family had to wonder and ask if he had started taking pills for it. He still had his ticks of rocking backwards and forwards when he was nervous or excited and people that didn’t know would still think that he was slow to process what they were saying but they had dulled. Jun stroked the sweet face with just his fingertips loving it when Kazu let out a happy giggle “St-sto-p J!”
“I should…You have to eat your dinner…I spent a long time making it” Jun whispered puffing out his chest with pride until it deflated when a troubled look crossed over Kazu’s face.
“I...I’m so-sorry…Yo-u we-re troub-led…”
“Kazu, there was no trouble…I loved every minute of it…” Jun said cursing himself, he had been so wrapped in Kazu’s improvements that he had completely forgotten that he still had difficulty in picking up on subtle jokes. Kazu’s eyebrows knitted together and a cute pout formed, causing Jun to want to kiss it away, as he said;
“But yo-u sai-d…”
“It took me a long time…But every second of it was worth it because it was for you…I was just telling you that so you’d kiss me again…” Jun said with a smile quickly swooping down and kissing his brother’s pouting lips while trying to smooth out the crease in his forehead with his fingertips. Kazu did relax against him a little but he was still pouting when he pulled away.
“I’m sorry I didn’t understand…” He whispered slowly and Jun was about to curse himself for making his darling brother sad when he continued more playfully “But you should just say what you mean…You know that I will always kiss you!”
“I know…God’s I love you so much, Kazu…” Jun growled pulling him back into another kiss sucking and playing with Kazu’s tongue his hands sliding down to play with his firm but small buttocks. He massaged it a little and then reluctantly pulled away when Kazu’s stomach let out a healthy growl that caused them both to start laughing “Do you have a lion in there?”
“…The food smells too good!” Kazu answered holding his stomach and Jun chuckled again kissing his nose and ruffling his hair before leading him to the table saying;
“I guess kisses are all well and good but you need real food too…Come on!”
Jun served the food quickly and then sat down in the chair opposite Kazu giving him a slow, almost nervous, smile. Kazu returned his look and picked up his fork taking a bite of the duck and moaning happily at the taste.
"Is it good?" Jun asked nervously wondering if he should have taken Kazu for a meal in a restaurant.
"It's good, J, better than anything ever before!" Kazu said with nothing but honesty in his face and voice and Jun found himself relaxing and eating his own meal. They fell into an easy silence that was only broken by the sound of their knives and forks hitting their plates and the light wind that was whipping around outside of the tent. "That was amazing J" Kazu told him after they had finished and Jun grinned happily at the praise.
"Do you have room for cake?" He asked and although he looked doubtful, and quickly unfastened the top button of his jeans, Kazu gave a nod and a smile.
"Y-es!" Jun went to fetch the cake that he had walked so hard on and almost fainted at the sight that greeted him. The cake his precious cake was laying upside down on the floor with Arashi and Niji both eating it, chocolate and cream all over their faces and heads. They both looked up at him their tails flicking once and the twice. Without a word he bent down scooping what he could from the floor tears stinging his eyes. "J...is everything ok-...bad dog! Bad Arashi! Bad Niji!" Kazu shouted coming up behind him and Jun turned hold up the tray and the smooshed mess that had been his cake.
"I...I'm sorry..." He whispered and Kazu shook his head kneeling down in front of him his hands on his shoulders.
"I bet it was the bestest cake ever!" He said with a smile poking his finger into the safest bit of fudge frosting and kicking it clean "brilliant!"
"You...you're the one that's brilliant Kazu..." Jun whispered his heart already lighter and Kazu blushed getting up again and grabbing the bowl of chocolate frosting that hadn't been touched an almost wicked smile on face.
"I...I have...a better idea...for ca-ke..." He whispered two spots of pink in his cheeks and Jun's eye almost fell out of his head as he caught his meaning "come on, J..."
"Go get ready..." Jun told him getting to his feet, leaving the cat and dog with the cake. He kissed Kazu's forehead and the added "I'll join you in a minute...I have to put out the candles..."
Kazu nodded and grinned hugging the bowl to his chest as he hurried out of the room leaving to Jun to stare after him in amazement. His brother could always turn something horrible into something perfect his thought happily before shaking himself and hurrying in to the tent to blow out the candle and turn off the heaters. Making sure everything was safe he hurried to his and Kazu's shared bedroom very much looking forward to feeding his brother his cake.

A/N: I hope this is okay...I've just had the worst weekend ever L On Saturday I was accidentally given prawns and since I’m allergic it wasn’t very good, in fact it was the worst reaction I’ve ever had meaning a hospital trip, this is why there should be clear ingredients listed :( I'm mostly fine now, I had my medication in time and everything so it wasn't as bad as it could have been just scared me mostly >.<
