Ninomiya Kazunari bit back a growl as he pushed the packages onto the desk of the CEO. His dad had gotten him the job at his company for the winter period ‘To keep him out of trouble’ and ‘Set him straight’. He’d known that it would be bad idea to tell his dad that he was gay but at the time he had been sick of his father’s comments about gays being the root of all evil and that they should be locked away. His father hadn’t believed him, or at least Nino didn’t think so, in fact he was prepared to bet that his father thought he’d only said it as an act of wilful rebellion or something. Nino sighed loudly fingering the packages in his hands most of them smelt flowery like they had been drenched in sour perfume and decorated in overly bright wrapping paper. He could imagine hordes of female staff members sending gifts to the elderly CEO, using their feminine wiles to get what they wanted from a lecherous old man.
Nino shuddered a little, even though he knew that he would do the same thing if it meant getting out of the mail room. He let out a sigh and pulled out more of the packages piling them into a mini-pyramid on the edge of the desk. He had never met the CEO and as his normal route was the lower levels he never would, today a horrible inconvenience, the man that normally did the top levels had been sick and he was the only one that was finished, the mail room staff worked before anyone else in the morning delivering the mail before anyone else got in. Yawning he finished taking out the last of the mail and then looked around the office. It was just was he was expecting, thick polished wood with gold fixtures, he poked at a gold pen handle, wondering if it was real gold, before almost jumping at the sound of the door opening. He turned his eyes bulging out of his head as he saw the most beautiful looking man he had ever seen. He was taller than he was and older in his thirties at least but it was hard to tell. He wore a dark grey suit that hugged his body like a second skin. There was a white wire hanging out of each ear and for a moment, so captivated was he by the man’s face, it took him awhile to realise that it was headphones. The man strode into the room like he owned the place and then looked up, stopping short when he saw him, he pulled the headphones out and Nino was treated to a blast of rock music before it died out leaving the office in a tense silence that was broken by Nino let out a garbled laugh and then demanding
“Who are you? What are you doing here?”
The man blinked in surprise, a mix of amusement and confusion on his face before he laughed and ruffled the back of his hair walking over to the desk. He pulled a face at the mountain of presents on the desk and then turned around resting his bum against the wood his arms across his chest still looking slightly amused.
“I am Matsumoto Jun…This is my office…Who are you? You're not the usual person...”
“You…Your office…But this is the CEO…” Nino stammered his heart jumping as he heard the name and ignored the question. He knew the name Matsumoto Jun, his father had cursed it a few times when he was drunk after all, but he had always pictured an older man with greying hair or no hair at all not somebody that looked like they could grace the cover of vogue and not look out of place. Jun gave another smile his head tilting to one side as he gestured to himself saying;
“Yep…That would be me…”
“Um…But…You’re…Young and good looking…” Nino blurted out again before blushing hotly when he realised what he had said. Jun let out a loud laugh that sent shivers through his body while at the same time,
“Thank-you, I think…”
“Ah…I didn’t mean…I’m sorry…” Nino gasped blushing brightly as he dipped his head almost knocking himself out when his head connected with the mail cart that he was holding. He rubbed his forehead looking up with a blush when the man gave another loud laugh coming over to check his head
“You’re going to have a nice bump there later…” He murmured softly as he fingered the sensitive skin. Nino gulped wanting to pull away but at the same time enjoying the touch and the smell of the man too much to do so. They stayed that way for a few minutes and then Nino looked up his heart leaping around like a young lamb “Name?”
“…Sir?” He whispered feeling shaky all over as he managed to take a step away from him. Jun smiled again his hand dropping down to his side as he repeated his question,
“What is your name?”
“…Um…Ninomiya, sir, I’m sor-…” Nino whispered surprised at the way the easy smile vanished to be replaced by an almost scowl from the older man. Nino gulped hoping that the look was being directed at him only because of his father and the next question proved it,
“Related to Ninomiya on the fourth floor?”
“My dad, sir…” Nino whispered wondering what his father had done to deserve such a hard look. Knowing his father it could be anything and he wouldn’t blame the CEO if he just hated his father on sight. Jun blinked a few times to clear his expression and then smiled again poking at the bump and almost pushing him backwards.
“I see…Well you’d better get on then…”
“Yes, sir, I’m sorry again, Sir” He said bobbing up and down about to walk away when Jun called out to him again;
“Ah…Ninomiya, in future these gifts go in the box by the door…Okay? Though I did like the pretty pyramid…” he said with another smile showing his perfectly shaped teeth that seemed to twist his mouth just a little. Nino looked over to where Jun had pointed surprised when he saw a large box stuffed almost to the top with gifts. The sign on the front stated clearly 'Gifts for St Micheal's' and Nino wondered if the people that sent them knew where they ended up.
“Okay, sir, sorry sir” Nino said bobbing up and down before making a hasty retreat. He ran out of the room and then through the corridor heading towards the next office. Tomorrow hopefully he would be back to his regular round and then he could bury this weird embarrassing meeting in the back of his subconscious. He really should have known that it wouldn’t work out like that.
