krystalkatzficz“Watch the kids...” Jun barked at Ohno over his shoulder before running of down the beach flicking the sand around him. There had to be a reasonable explanation, he was just once again rushing ahead with wild thoughts. It had to be, it couldn’t be the thoughts that were going through his head. It had to have been a mistake. He bolted down the sands following the trail of the ocean in the direction that he had last seen Nino and Masaki walking in. There were people watching him but whenever he tried to talk to them but they turned their noses up and turned away. Jun let out loud growls and clenched his fists. He carried on walking until he felt a hand tugging on his shorts, he looked down to see a young boy about the same age as his children. “Yes?”
“You are with the cat person!” The boy said sounding blocked up and Jun nodded his hands moving through his hair his eyes continuing to scan the area “The Neeho-Nyaoman...”
“Yes...My husband...Have you seen him?” He asked and the boy nodded sticking his finger up his nose and picking it while pulling on his t-shirt with his other hand.
“Yes I was playing with him and your son and then the woman came and said she wanted to go for a walk to apologise to him!” He said slowly and Jun felt his heart sinking into his stomach deciding that his hunch was correct. Of course it was possible that she was just apologising for what had happened but given how she had acted Jun knew that that wouldn’t be it.
“Did you see which way they went?” Jun asked surprised at how calm his voice was. The boy nodded and gave a smile the finger that had been in his nose coming out and pointing out over the over the sand towards a pile of rocks in the opposite direction to the way he had been walking.
“They went that way sir” He said cheerfully and Jun ruffled his forehead running at his top speed towards the rocks. A shudder ran down his spine when he heard a loud ear piercing hiss and then a scream. He climbed over the rocks slipping and sliding on the seaweed that was growing on the side. Once he had climbed over the largest the sight that greeted him was one that filled him with relief and anger. Masaki was crouched in the corner sobbing his hands over his face his fingers pulling on his ears. There was a hand print on his arm and his tail was ruffled. Nino was looking like an avenging angel. Every single hair was fluffed out, his eyes were slits in his face and his nails had lengthened into points. The woman with the bad hair dye was on the floor nursing a blood stained cheek.
“He’s a wild animal! I wanted to apologise and then he attacked me!” She stammered trying to move away when she saw him. Nino turned for a fraction of a second and then growled again slashing at her arm when she tried to move.
“She was trying to take Masaki” Nino hissed his voice sounding completely threatening even to Jun and Jun could see why. “She’s tried to take away Nino’s baby...She said that we was pets! That she was better than us! Nyaoman are better than you! We would never try to take your baby!”
“Nino...” Jun said trying to be soothing when his heart was feeling the same amount of anger and he thought that it was lucky that he didn’t have claws like his partner.
“Junny asked Nino is Nino wanted to go back to Caiteuthea I do not...But people like her make Nino want to go home! We are not pets...People said that! There was a law passed, nyan, right Junny?” Nino asked and Jun gave a nod giving a growl of his own.
“Yes, there was a law...” He confirmed, his eyes narrowed as he pulled his telephone out of his pocket and dialled the police. He was not going to let the bitch get away with this “Nino I am phoning the police...Masaki needs you...”
“She is a monster!” Nino said as his hair slowly started going down and his nails seethed back into his hands. “We came here to play! Nino is not an animal! Masaki...Come to here to Daddy! Papa came to find us he will not let her get away!”
“Daddy! She hurt my arm!” Masaki sobbed coming over to him and wrapping his arms around his waist. Jun smiled happily as he watched his son nuzzle into his lovers stomach.
“I know...Daddy with give you magic kisses...” Nino said taking his arm and kissing the mark that that been made in light pecking kisses until Masaki started giggling his ears lifting up from his head and his tail flicking around. “There that’s better! Daddy has very magic kisses!”
“Yes I feel better now daddy” Masaki agreed hugging him again and Nino stroked the top of his head with his fingers. There was a deeply peaceful smile on his face which was a stark contrast to the expression that had been on his face a few minutes. “Can we go back to Sho and Kazuko now!?”
“Yes you go and start the picnic...Uncle Satoshi is there...” Jun told them and Nino let out another hiss at the cowering woman and then left climbing over the boulders helping Masaki. As soon as they had gone Jun leaned against the boulder glaring at the woman.
“They’re all animals! They deserve to be locked up!” She gasped and Jun was very close to knocking her out instead he growled his fists clenching at his sides.
“Animals? You try and kidnap my son and then you try to claim that Nino is an animal? I think that you should perhaps learn the meaning of the word...” He spat glad that he could hear the sounds of the police coming towards him. “But it appears that you will be the one that will be locked up...”
The police came quickly and dealt with the situation they took a statement from Masaki, who was fully recovered and very excitable as he recounted the tale, and then from Nino who was calmer but hissed every now and then his tail flicking backwards and forwards.
“She said that she wanted to talk to Nino! To apologise...Masaki was wanting to pick up crabs and she said that there was a rock pool with giant crabs so we went.” Nino said softly his body trembling with rage and Jun’s hand came up to stroke his back in slow gentle strokes.
“When we crossed the rocks she pushed Nino down so I hit my head and then she grabbed Masaki...She grabbed him so hard that he gave a cry! Nino started to react...I didn’t mean to hurt her, that much, but I started to react...Then my Junny found us and then we came back...That woman will be punished?”
“Yes, of course...” The police officer said with a smile his own ginger tail flicking around and Jun smiled. That had been hard to get passed but it had been decided a year ago that if the Nyaomen were going to be living on earth they should be recognised in official positions. This officer must have been one of the first to take on his position “We are glad that you and your son was not harmed, Deioth...”
“Nyan! That is too much!” Nino said with a blush pushing the policeman’s arm and Jun felt something very close to jealousy strike his heart until Nino explained quickly “Deioth means...Um...Like Queen Junny! You are Dandaioth! Like King!”
“Oh...” Jun said uncomfortable when the ginger Nyaoman dipped his head in a semi-bow “
“I will deal with this! You should enjoy your holiday, Deioth and Dandaioth, the kitties will feel better when they had played...Um...Nyan...I can have your autographs for my own Kitty...” The officer asked suddenly going shy his ears twitching a little. Jun felt a little strange as he, Nino and the three triplets made their marks on a piece of paper but the smile that they received was worth it. The contrast between humans and Nyaoman had never been so clear. Nino and the officer in front of them had every right to hate all humans. They had been happily living their lives and then suddenly they had been invaded and brought to be pets or oddities to a people that had never treated their own kind with much humanity. Instead of hating them though they were happily making their lives and doing their best. “Thank-you...”
“Make that woman stay away from kitties!” Nino spat and the ginger Nyaoman nodded grabbing the woman’s arm and dragging her up the beach with his partner. Jun was almost positive that Nino would want to go home once they were left alone so he was surprised when he sat down and started serving out the picnic “Once you have eaten you are going on the boat, ne!”
“Are you sure?”
“Yes...Sho wanted to enjoy today, like his story books with parrots and treasure!” Nino answered cheerfully,
“Pirates!” Sho laughed and Nino’s head tilted to one side in confusion his ear twisting around as he hummed and nodded.
“That is what Nino said Piroots...” he said and this time they all laughed until his ears dropped “Human words are confusing to Nino! Nino pot narl’ar mo’lt millor dai’ixí, derò carte de vosalies em podia en’tendre el aieue he de varlar en les duraules humanes ...”
“What was that, daddy?” Sho asked his mouth dropping open and Jun had to admit that he was pretty amazed. He knew enough to know that it was the language of Caiteuthea but he had never heard Nino speak it and he had always assumed that he had been brought here before he was very old.
“That is the language of my people...Nino said: I can talk much better like this but none of you would be able to understand me so I have to speak with the Human words...” Nino said with a laugh as he fed Kazuko a ham sandwich.
“Daddy, daddy will you teach me to speak that?” Sho asked darting over the blanket and grabbing his arm joined very quickly by Masaki who was bouncing up and down “Please, please, please...”
“Nino will teach you!” Nino agreed kissing the tops of their head “Now eat and you can go on the boat!”

“I still dislike the big water, Junny!” Nino announced later, his head resting on Jun’s chest as they looked out over at the boat that was bobbing up and down. They could just make out their eldest triplets and Jun sighed his hand moving up and down his arm.
“I’m sorry...This was not how I want our holiday to go!” He said and Nino let out a laughing purr rubbing his face up against him causing his heart to skip and jump a little against his chest.
“Junny cannot help silly people like that! People like that woman are stupid! Junny will stamp them out but until then Nino will not be as trusting” Nino whispered as he moved away to hang his head saying apologetically “I am sorry that I almost made us lose our Masaki baby...”
“Nino, it wasn’t your fault! As you said you can’t help silly people like that...That woman was horrible...And I will get rid of them...You did nothing wrong...” Jun told him taking his hands and tugging him back into a hug. He dropped light kisses down onto the side of his face until he started giggling and purring against him “When we go to Caiteuthea it will not be this bad I hope...”
“It will be fine, nobody will take our children there! But we will come back to the big water again and Nino will learn to enjoy it!" Nino purred rubbing against him again his purr sounding out around the beach as their babies let out soft cries. Nino and Jun let out fond sighs and broke apart going to fetch the babies. Jun cradled Satoshi and Seren to his chest while Nino held Skye once again looking at the boat that had their children and Ohno.
“Nino...How to you say I love you?” Jun asked and Nino smiled pressing his lips to his ear and whispering,
“T'est’ Ti’mona”
“...Test Timona?” Jun tried and Nino giggled shaking his head as he said it again slowly,
“T’est’ Ti’mona...It means my heart will always live in you”
“I like that...My heart will always live in you...” Jun told him wishing that he had an arm free to hug his lover. Today had not been how he had hoped but it wasn’t as bad as it could have been. When they did visit Caiteuthea he hoped that it would be a lot better.

A/N: Urgh! I’m sorry this seemed really crap! There will be another story at some point about their visit to Caiteuthea but more than likely when I’m feeling better the cotton wool in my head is horrible >.<
