Aiba ran through the gates of the fun fair panting heavily as he wiped blood and sweat from his cheek. His old friends from the basket ball club had managed to get hold of him just as he was leaving the school and had punched his face pretty hard a few times. It wasn’t anything that he wasn’t used to now but he had wanted to look good for Jun. He admonished himself for that thought pretty quickly but the butterflies danced around and around in his stomach when he remembered the kiss.
He hitched his back up on his back and strolled through the fun fair heading straight to the café by the hook-a-duck pond and brought himself a strawberry and apple juice before going to sit on the low wall watching Jun as he handled the crowd of people that had swamped him. He was wearing the company t-shirt, with a pair of skinny fit black jeans and a silver belt, a black trilby hat with a silver band was on his head hiding the his hair and shielding his eyes from the sun. He looked perfect like a model that was just posing as a fair ground worker and Aiba grinned to himself as he sat on the wall drinking his drink.
“So are you going to ignore me today?” Jun asked suddenly and Aiba seemed to almost jump to attention knocking over the juice that he’d brought as he hurried over to the hook-a-duck. Jun smiled at him taking his hand and tugging him close to study the bruises on his cheek “Are you in a spot’s club?” He asked and Aiba shook his head thinking ‘not anymore’ “So you’re clumsy?” Aiba gave another head shake and Jun sighed letting him go and giving him a smile “I didn’t introduce myself yesterday, I’m Matsumoto Jun...”
“Um I’m Aiba Masaki...” Aiba said not telling the man that he already knew because he had asked around.
“Cute...but it suits you...So do you want a job?” Jun smiled and Aiba’s eyes went so wide it was almost comical and his mouth dropped open in an unflattering way.
“Huh? What?” He gasped out and Jun chuckled, his eyes flashing a little with his amusement.
“Well you’re here every day you might as well help out and get paid for it...Here, go to the toilet and change take off your shirt and blazer and put this on...” He said quickly reaching the counter and pulling out a lime green t-shirt which had the fairs logo on the front in board letters. “Go on hurry up...”
Aiba bobbed his head and then ran for the closest toilet which was next to the café and he hurried into the stall and shrugged happily out of his uniform and pulled on the clean but worn t-shirt bringing it up to his nose to sniff wondering if it belonged to Jun. He searched his mind trying to remember if he had seen him in lime green, a giddy feeling forming in his chest. He breathed deep a few times to stop the butterflies before smoothing it out and sticking his own clothing into his bag and hurrying back out to Jun who was once again swamped with people. He hung around at the back before Jun caught his eye and waved him over lifting up a section of the counter allowing him to get inside.
*~*~*~*
Jun smiled as the teenager slipped into the booth beside him, he wasn’t sure what his bosses where going to make of him hiring a helper but he had been promised one for two months now. It was getting close to the summer holidays and almost everyone and there mother were coming through the gates he wasn’t sure if Aiba would be up to the job but it was a damn site better than letting him get beat to a pulp. There wasn’t much he could do if the kid was being bullied in school but somebody that hung around on a low wall until 10 every night needed something and somebody to listen to him.
“Just take the money and hand them hooks...Remember that its 500yen for each go...” Jun hissed in his ear and Aiba looked surprised a hiss forming in his throat “We’ll talk later...”
“Okay...Um 500yen...” He said with a smile to the old woman that had two children with her. Aiba seemed to get the hand of things pretty quickly and he seemed to be a natural at the sells pitch for somebody that had seemed sullen the day before he was grinning and laughing like a mad man getting just as excited as the person playing and somehow managing to keep them playing handing over more and more money. Eventually there was a lull in the costumers and Jun sent the teenager to get them both a drink and a beef burger from the café.
“Since when does the Hook-a-duck have two people?” A small nasally voice asked and Jun almost flinched but still managed to turn and smile at the guy that had asked. Ninomiya Kazunari owner of the fun fair was staring at him with a raised eyebrow his arms folded over his chest. Jun would rather have dealt with Ohno, who in his opinion was the nicest of the self-named ‘OhMiya’ pair he was prepared to do his best on behalf of his little cute assistant.
“Relax, boss, he’s just helping out...Besides he cute and good with kids he keeps them coming back...Same with the elderly...” Jun answered taking down another hook and handing it to a teenager that looked like he was trying to impress his girlfriend, who was too busy staring between Jun, Nino and Aiba who was walking back towards them with their food and drinks “You said yourself that you were going to hire a second person...For the afternoons and weekends...I saved you the trouble...”
“J...Just ‘cause Oh-chan likes you doesn’t mean that you’re above the rules...” Nino growled out his eyes roaming over the figure of the teenager. There was a slight pang of protective jealousy in Jun’s chest but he ignored it knowing that it would take something earthshattering for Nino to even think sexually about anyone but his Ohno. It seemed that whatever silent contest Nino was giving him Aiba passed because the owner let out a hum and then a nod “but you’re right I did want to hire someone...But he has to have a proper interview tonight after closing...Bring him to the office...”
“Yes boss...” Jun mock saluted, lifting up the counter with his free hand to let Aiba and the tray in his stomach rumbling a little at the smell of burger and onions. Nino rolled his eyes and then pulled out a walkie talkie from his pocket marching back off into the crowd.
“Um...Matsumoto-San...Is everything okay?” Aiba asked nervously and Jun nodded taking his burger and having a large bite before answering with a slightly greasy smile.
“Yeah, you have an interview just after closing...Then I’ll take you home...”
“Ehh..? But I live far away from here...” Aiba exclaimed squeezing the burger in his hands so hard that a blob of tomato sauce dropped out and landed dangerously close to Jun’s new shoe and he stepped back quickly laughing when Aiba started frantically apologising.
“Then I’m definitely taking you home...” He said waving away all further protests. He wasn’t sure when he had become the protective type maybe it was the day about four days ago when Aiba had been silently crying on the wall looking like he wanted the whole world to end. It was raining pretty hard that day, Jun remembered with a small shudder and he noticed that Aiba’s coat was torn so badly that it was passed saving he still didn’t move from that spot though and Jun had made up his mind then and there that he was going to talk to him. He hadn’t shown up for the next two days and Jun had grown concerned by the third day he was back and finally he had been able to talk to him. He had always found him attractive but since he had been threatened in very soft terms by Ohno to stay away from the costumers he hadn’t made a move. A fellow worker, there were no rules about that.

Date: 2013-08-01 03:59 pm (UTC)Despite it's just your second JunBa, it's quite well ! As I said, softness power is required according to me, and there is !
But it isn't lovey-dovey of course, there are some harsh hidden in that quiet feeling of happiness. ^^
Poor Aiba, at least, he will find comfort thanks to that new job with his dear beloved of his hot dreams. *W*
PS : Don't worry Nino, Jun isn't going to steal Ohno from you. lol
