Our First Summer part twenty-one
Masako stared at the row of chocolate bars in front of her not really seeing them thinking about Aarin’s attitude to her and the looks Ohno had given her earlier. When she’d come down again the older man hadn’t given her anything more than a small smile and a nod of the head so she was positive that she had just made it up. It hadn’t stopped the uncomfortable feeling that settled in her chest when she was in the same room as him
“Masa, is something wrong?” She heard Jun ask as her friend came to stand beside her. She looked up and gave him a smile and then went back to studying the brightly coloured wrappers.
“Huh? No...I’m fine...I just can’t decide which one I want...” She mumbled pointing at the chocolate in front of her with an absent minded hand still not paying much attention and Jun gave a small laugh picking up two of the chocolate bars that she had pointed at studying the ingredients.
“I wouldn’t have either of them since you’re allergic to citrus...And they both contain it...” He said after a while waving them in front of her face and Masako blinked looking at the two orange chocolate bars that he was holding in his hands. “I mean you could eat them but when you’re sat on the toilet all afternoon with the runs...”
“Okay, okay you’ve made your point...Did dad send you?” She sighed taking them out of his hands and slamming them down picking up a Turkish delight one while Jun was studying the mint. For a moment she was surprised knowing that Jun didn’t like chocolate but then she remembered that the mint chocolate was her father’s favourite and he had empty wrappers stuffed into the front of the car.
“Yep...He said that I had to break the nose of anyone that was even looking at you funny...” He murmured grabbing a handful of the chocolate and then took the Turkish delight from her hands as they walked to the check out. Masako gave a giggle
“Good can you break Aarin’s nose? That woman is awful...Did you meet her?” She asked and Jun gave a nod and a mock cringe. She sighed rolling her eyes and lifting up her nose so that it was in the same point as Aarin’s causing Jun to laugh and hit her arm paying for the chocolates “Do you think she can breathe through that nose?”
“I doubt it...maybe that’s way she looks like she’s swallowed a whole lemon...Your dad shot her down though when she was talking about selling the house...” Jun told her and Masako gave a growl taking the bag and smiling at the casher. They managed to get out of the shop before she almost spat out a bitter sounding
“Cow...” The beach house was her dad’s favourite house other than the outer decoration nothing had changed since his parents had been alive and if he had his way nothing would be changed. I can’t believe that uncle O-hno would choose her over dad...even if he isn’t gay...” She growled unable to stop herself from stammering on the name Ohno and she knew Jun noticed when he turned to look at her with a raised eyebrow.
“Are you still upset with Ohno-san?” he asked guiding her towards a bench and Masako’s face coloured quickly and she thrashed her arms around like a windmill spluttering and stammering
“What? No! Why would I be he didn’t do anything!” She shouted but she knew that her little display would only make Jun more suspicious and in a way she was glad when he dropped the bag and grabbed hold of her arms holding them tightly as he stared into her face
“Masako...” He said softly and Masako bit on her lip her mind reeling before she gave a sigh and pinched the bridge of her nose. Looking away from him she hunched over a little and stared at a yellow flower that was just poking out of long yellowing grass.
“I went swimming when I woke up...I was wearing that swimsuit mum brought me...” She answered her skipping and jumping against her ribs and Jun let go of her arms asking
“The green one...”
“Yeah...Anyway I was swimming and then I heard somebody I looked up and it was uncle Ohno...He was looking at me...At my body...Not like I was his friend daughter but...But like the way dad looks at you...But it didn’t make me feel good it made me feel creepy...” She admitted goose pimples spreading out over her skin and Jun gave a short hiss gripping the bench that they were sitting at and Masako grabbed his arm when he rose from the bench worried that he was about to jump up and track down Ohno or worse her dad.
“Don’t Jun, you can’t say anything...It was probably my imagination because I was upset by those men yesterday...”
“But still...You should tell your dad...” He said and Masako shook her head her eyes going wide. With her dad being so weird around Ohno at the moment the last thing that she wanted was to add oil to the fire. Her dad wasn’t really known for having a lot of patients with people that messed around with her.
“Why? Nothing happened it was just in my head...” She said trying to explain but Jun just glared at her his arms going across his chest as he said in a loud hissed whisper,
“If it was just in your head it wouldn’t be bothering you this much...”
“Ohno...He’s been dad’s friend for a long time...He wouldn’t do anything weird...He’s not like that...” She said and normally she would believe it but there was something that was off, her dad and Ohno seemed to be in the middle of a fight. They were still trying to act the same but it all felt a little flat and forced and Ohno had never spoken to her like that before.
“Your dad said that Ohno isn’t acting like himself at the moment...I guess the idea of marrying the weird alien creature he is, is enough to make any man go a bit funny...” Jun said softly and Masako sighed pushing her hair from her eyes.
“If I said anything and dad goes all kamen rider Nino on his butt...Sho will find out...I don’t want Sho-chan to think I’m accusing his dad of being weird...He’ll hate me...” She said fearfully looking down at her ring afraid that it was going to vanish from her finger in a puff of smoke.
“But...” Jun started but she slapped her hand over his mouth and shook her head giving him her best puppy dog eyes and pleading with him.
“How about...You keep an eye on him...If you think he’s being weird then...And only then you can tell dad but this...This morning we put it down to the over active imagination that we all know that I have...”
“O-kay...” He said around the hand and Masako grinned, her eyes sparkling little and she released his hand “But one hint that he’s being weird I’m telling your dad faster than anything...Agreed?”
“Agreed, thanks Jun, I really wanted to talk to someone but...I thought you were going to be too busy...” She sighed some of the weight lifting from her shoulders making her feel better than she had done all day and together they got up from the bench and Jun shook his head,
“I’m never to busy...”
“You were last night making my dad scream...” She giggled wriggling her eyebrows up and down and nudging his arm with an elbow.
“I only gave him a massage...” Jun mumbled and Masako laughed hard when his cheeks flushed scarlet.
“Shut up Masa!”
*~*~*~*
Nino looked up with relief when the door opened and Masako came in followed closely by a blushing Jun. The tension of the house was almost unbearable and he wanted to take Sho, Masako and Jun out on the pretence of giving Ohno and the cold fish some time alone. He couldn’t imagine what they would do with time alone Aarin wasn’t the kind of person that seemed to like cuddling on the sofa or having steamy sex in the middle of the afternoon. In fact Nino would be prepared to bet that she scheduled in sex into the little electronic pocket planner that she seemed to have her nose permanently attached too.
“So he found you then?” Nino asked as his daughter floated over to Sho and wrapped her arms around his neck.
“Staring at the chocolates...” Jun answered and Nino’s stomach rumbled a little wishing that he had thought to ask his...Playmate to get him some spearmint chocolate since he’d had the last of it yesterday.
“A moment on the lips a lifetime on the hips...” Aarin sniffed softly her eyes narrowing at Masako and Nino gave a hiss unable to let it go.
“I’m sorry? What does that mean?”
“It’s a dietary saying...A moment on the lips a life time on the hips...I was merely reminding her that a chocolate bar has a lot of calories...”
“Thank-you...But I don’t see what it has to do with you...” He ground out through clenched teeth and Aarin’s eyes sharpened, they would have narrowed but there wasn’t enough actual skin left to make that kind of facial expression.
“As a man you wouldn’t understand what a woman has to go through...A piece of chocolate won’t be as appealing when she has jowls...Or perhaps a second chin...” Aarin said breezily waving hand that support shiny blood red nails that were shaped into points reminding Nino of a wicked witch from the stories that he used to read to Masako.
“And yet she’d still look better than you do...” He spat out before he could stop himself and he rose to his feet at the same time that Ohno did and the two friends ended up glaring at each other with clenched hands.
“Nino...Aarin is a beauty expert...” Ohno said and Nino snorted looking at the witch, who was doing her best to cry but her tear ducts were so closed off she looked like she had a bad squint,
“No, I’m sorry Satoshi...She doesn’t have the right to sit there and say that my daughter can’t have a piece of chocolate...She has been here for a morning and already she has insulted my home, looked at me like I have leprosy and has insulted my daughter...And as for being a beauty expert...Has she ever looked in the mirror? Or does she really think that she’s attractive looking like she’s from the planet Gorgon?” He growled and he knew that he heard Sho and Jun snort with laughter while Masako gasped.
“Kazunari...”
“No, Sa-kun, I know what this is all about...And I understand...” Aarin said gracefully getting to her feet, having given up on pretending to cry, she walked over to him and gave a smile that reminded him of a clown but he guessed that she was going for sympathetic “It’s because you’re jealous...Sa-kun told me all about your sad little crush over 20 years of fancying him and so far it’s been okay but now you know that you’re being pushed away...”
“Yeah...” Nino said his fists clenching and the truth was just hovering on the edge of his tongue he so wanted to spit it all into her face but he couldn’t, he couldn’t do that and it pissed him off more than anything that he had ever felt before. He growled and stormed away from her grabbing hold of Jun’s hand as he passed pulling him towards the door. Before he managed to pull it shut he heard what sounded like a triumphant laugh from the witch and bit clean through his lip hissing when the blood came.

Tsss... give her several smacks in order to calm her down.
And Ohno doesn't say anything... so he's ok with that ?
Nino doesn't quit his straightforwardness and it's perfect !! He needs to set thing right between the dumb and her future husband.
I also hope that Ohno won't be so silly to touch Masako... well, I REALLY hope he won't be so insane.
I forgot to say it for the previous NC 17, but it was really hot ! The way whose the sex scene was launched was absolutely perfect and again, so hot !!! Well, during this fic, it's summer after all. ^^
