Maiga Drabble Collection: Satoshi's wedding part 1
“Kazu...Can I talk to you a minute?” Satoshi asked softly after dinner and Jun looked up from where he was trying to put a fussy kitten, Niji, onto the cat litter tray. Kazu was sitting beside him shuffling through cards and trying to show Toma, who had come for his first visit to the family, how to do a magic trick. The second youngest Maiga looked up with a smile and then nodded getting to his feet and handing the cards to Toma
“Pr-act-ice by your-self...” He said and Jun winced as the kitten used his kitten powered claws to scratch at his hand and hiss making a break for it under the table that, Spartacus was using to take shelter from a very friendly Arashi, the result was the rabbit bouncing through the chair legs which was too narrow for his backside so he dragged the chair flowed by a yapping Arashi while the kitten clawed up the table leg. Sho, Masaki and Toma tried to catch the dog and rabbit while Jun darted under the table trying to catch the kitten. During the confusion Kazu and Satoshi must have slipped outside, it wasn’t until the back door slammed and there was the sound of running feet that Jun realised that their brother must have told him that he was getting married.
Satoshi had told them all while Kazu was at work and none of them had known how he was going to take the news. Kazu had been happy and calm for years but he had difficulty adapting to any kind of change in his lifestyle and it didn’t help that, unlike with Toma, he had never developed more than a passing courtesy for the pretty Hana which was a shame since the girl had gone out of her way several times to try and get to know him. When he had stayed calm at Christmas over the marsh mellows Jun had thought that maybe he had accepted her but now it seemed that that was wrong. Plucking the kitten off of the table cloth he wriggled out from under the table as Satoshi was coming in from the outside and he looked at him with a raised eye brow waiting for him to speak as he held the wriggling cat to his chest.
“I only managed to say that I was getting married before he started crying and ran off...” Satoshi sighed, his fingers moving through his hair and Jun nodded biting on the inside of his cheek. He dumped the kitten into his eldest brother’s hand and then headed up the stairs slightly nervous about what he was going to find. The idea of Kazu in a fit wasn’t one that he looked forward to. From the master bedroom he could hear crying and slamming and taking a breath he opened the door to find Kazu throwing all of the ceramic figures Satoshi had made him for his birthday’s over the years into a pile on the floor. A few were smashed, broken beyond repair, but others seemed fixable. Kazu wasn’t done with just the figures though he grabbed the wrapping paper that was so lovingly decorated and ripped it into four pieces throwing it into the pile before jumping up and down on it yelping when one of the figurines slashed through the paper and into his foot.
He hopped up and down and the squatted into the corner of the room his head bouncing on the wall. So far Jun had just watched in silence, it wasn’t a full fit but it was close. Still in silence he went to the pile of broken figures and torn paper, knowing that Kazu was going to be heartbroken that he had broken them when he snapped out of it, carefully he picked them up watching as the little Jun figure lost his head and then his hand fell off. He looked at Kazu who was still sobbing into the corner his head hitting the wall. Jun wasn’t overly concerned by that, when he had designed the house he had made the walls springy and softer than any walls that you would find in a normal house. He watched him with tearstained eyes and Jun sighed, picking up the rest of the broken collection.
“What’s wrong, Kazu?” He asked softly putting the figurines down on the bed and knelt in front of him.
“N-ii-chan is g-ettin-g ma-rrie-d...” He mumbled after a long stretched out silence that had been broken only by the soft thud of Kazu’s head against the wall. It had taken all of Jun’s control not to grab him and stop him knowing that would just make things worse.
“And that upset you? Don’t you like Hana?” He asked softly and Kazu stared at him shaking his head and then stopping when more tears came and he shouted
“...N-o...S-he’s t-ak-ing Nii-ch-an aw-ay...”
“You really think that a woman could take Nii-chan away?” Jun sighed shuffling up to him and slipping his arms around him pulling him into his chest and holding him close even when Kazu spit and hit out at him worse than a kitten. Eventually he got either bored or tired out and then sagged into his arms crying more softly this time
“S-he w-ill tak-e h-im! T-hey’ll h-ave b-abies an-d the-n the-y w-on’t b-e a-ble t-o liv-e he-re...T-here w-on’t be r-oom...”
“We know that Kazu...That’s why they brought the plot of land next to us...That one that has been empty for years and Hana asked me to design them a home...They won’t be living in the house with us but you will still see him every day...” Jun murmured against his ear before dropping light kisses down on the cheek and jaw line. “...He didn’t want to leave you either but...They love each other like we do and we’re allowed to be together so they should be too...”
“I...I...T-hey’re r-eally m-oving n-ext door?”
“Yes, we are...” Satoshi murmured coming into the bedroom and Kazu squirmed out of Jun’s arms going over to him “You should have let me finish...”
“I’m s-orry...I didn’t m-ean...I...B-roke th-e figu-res...” Kazu said sobbing again looking at the bed while Jun picked up the paper. Satoshi hugged him tightly his arms closing around his back as he rocked him backwards and forwards
“It’s okay...I’ll make them again for you I promise” He promised kissing his forehead “But there was something that I wanted to ask...Would you be my best man?”
“H-uh...M-e...?” Kazu blinked pulling out his arms enough to look into his face and Satoshi nodded with a wide smile
“Of course you...Who else would I ask?”
“S-ho-chan, he’s s-marter tha-n me...Or M-asaki he wo-uld be funnier...Or J...J wo-uld b-e good h-e w-ouldn’t m-ess it u-p...” Kazu said listing all of the brothers off with his fingers and Jun growled like he always did when Kazu put himself down.
“Kazu...I want you...You know me better than anyone else in this house...” Satoshi said calmly his gentle smile on his face and Kazu sighed his eyes closing before he gave a quick nod.
“I wo-uld be h-appy to-o...If yo-u ar-e s-ure...”
“Of course I’m sure...” Satoshi murmured kissing his forehead again and Kazu hugged him tightly wiping his face on his chest
“C-ongr-atulatio-ns...O-n g-etting in e-ngag-ed...Nii-c-han...” He murmured and Jun saw the wide happy grin that filled his oldest brother’s face as his eyes closed and he squeezed him tightly his chin resting on the top of his head. Jun allowed himself to relax watching the pair for a while before they heard Sho knocking on the door and asking if everything was okay.
“Yeah...we’ll be right down...” Jun called back as his lover and brother pulled apart and Kazu wiped his hands with his fingers giving a lopsided smile going over to Jun and hugging him tightly. Jun smiled bringing their lips together in a sweet tasting kiss his tongue teasing open his lips as Satoshi left them alone. Kazu’s hands slipped around him holding him tightly until he gave a whine and Jun remembered that he had hurt his foot. “Come on Kazu...I’ll treat your foot and then we’ll go back down stairs and celebrate with Nii-chan...”
“Ye-s...” Kazu said going to sit on the bed while Jun went to the kitchen cupboard where he kept a first aid kit. He knew that there were going to be some difficulties with the wedding. Their aunt and her moronic children would be coming not to mention the elderly members of the family that could never know about them but they could think about it later, now they could just be happy for their brother.

I love the chaos the pets made XD. I wanna have a dog like Arashi ♥. (Anyway, isn't Spartacus belong to the school? Can Toma take him freely? XDDD.)
Everyone really loves Kazu ne, they always think about him in everything they do :). I love this family so much ♥.
Can't wait for the wedding! (Somehow I want their aunt and cousins to insult them so they will have a good reason to confront them XD.)
