Nino part 2
Matsu made comforting noises in his throat as he stroked the Feman's heaving back gently as Nino held his head over the bowl of the toilet. He had been throwing up for most of the night and Matsu had been beside him the entire time wishing that he could help "Are you okay, Nino?"
"I'm sorry, master, your flying boat, makes my tummy funny..." Nino mumbled misery etched into the Feman's face as if he was to blame. The Feman gave a weak smile that lasted a second before going green and throwing up again. Matsu rubbed his back, reaching over for some wipes for his face, "M-master..." Nino moaned looking back up at him and Matsu wished there was some way he could help him.
"It’s okay, Nino, you've got space sickness it’s not your fault..." the captian tried to reassure him by gently stroking his soft ears in the way he knew Nino liked. He wiped his mouth and chin
"Master, does not get s-pa-ce sickness?" Nino asked his voice was gettng less shaky now and the captain tried not to smile happily at the way Nino spelt out words he wasn't familiar with
"No, not since I was very small, I always been on flying boats..." He answered getting him some water to wash away the disgusting taste that must be in his mouth
"Master does not like the ground?" Nino's head cocked to one side as he sipped the water and looked at him. Matsu was glad to see the Feman's face was losing its, green sheen, he stroked a strand of hair away from the Feman’s eyes and then lifted him up carrying him to the bedroom. He lay him on the bed and Nino giggled looking up at his eyes shining. He loved the way Nino looked at him, as if he was the only person in existence that mattered to him, he gave Nino a drink ignoring the question about the ground, it wasn’t that he hated earth or any of the other liveable planets there was no reason for him to stay. Nino nudged his hand with his face and automatically Matsu started stroking his head and ear, loving the soft feel of the Feman’s fur.
“There was just never any reason for me to stay on the ground” Matsu answered “I never had a family…”
“I’m sorry, Master” The Feman said obviously thinking that he had upset him, and Matsu smiled to tell him it was okay and then lifted up the blankets of the bed
“It’s okay, Nino… Nino I have to go to the cockpit, you should get some sleep” he mumbled, the Feman nodded quickly getting into the bed and allowing Matsu to tuck him in, “Sleep well” he said stroking Nino’s face, the Feman smiled happily and his purrs started. Matsu went to the bridge ignoring the looks he was getting, he knew the crew thought he was strange for sharing his quarters with a male Feman, but he didn’t care. He snapped at a few people and made sure they were staying on course and an hour and a half later, the door opened with a whoosh.
Matsu smiled as the Feman came in wearing grey trousers and a slightly to big t-shirt and Matsu realised that they were from his collection “Are you okay, Nino?” Matsu asked when Nino came to his chair, the Feman’s face was still slightly green and he looked shaky on his legs. It had been a long time since Matsu had seen anybody with space sickness and it troubled him that it was his little cat man that was suffering. In the first aid bay there were some tablets that would stop it but as the doctor didn’t know how it would affect Nino Matsu had refused to give them to him.
“I am fine, Master” Nino purred kneeling beside him and rubbing his cheek against his leg “Your flying boat is strange though master” Matsu smiled stroking him lightly behind his ears, ignoring the strange looks the crew was giving him and listening to the Feman’s purrs getting louder and louder until they completely surrounded the cockpit.
“We’ll reach Earth soon, Nino”
“What is your home like, Master?”
“Earth? It’s not that much different from Elzren” Matsu answered thoughtfully, it was the truth Earth wasn’t so much different from Nino’s home world Elzren, except that Elzren was like a version of Earths past. If he had to compare it to anything it would but like Roman times, there had been small villages, though Nino had said that there were towns further away.
“Are there people like me there?”
“No, not that I’ve seen” Matsu answered carefully, The Femen had been everything they had heard, but with the exception of Nino, and Nino’s purrs stopped as he looked at him “You were hoping that your family would be there?”
“Yes, Master” Nino answered softly and without thinking much Matsu dropped a quick kiss on his forehead, and then chewed his lip wondering if he done the right thing with bringing with him but there was no other choice by helping them Nino had ostracised himself from the other Femen.
It had been three days since he had found the Feman, and Nino had become less fearful though he was still calling him ‘Master’ and Aiba was still ‘Magic Man’. He had found out that the food Nino had brought for them wasn’t as plentiful as they thought, the Feman had told them that just the small armful, had taken day’s to gather, he had explained that before the men in flying boats had come it had been different. He also agreed to take them to the nearest village, although there wouldn’t be spaceship parts there might be some things that could be used, there might even be ore that they could smith into something useable. The thing Matsu was still getting used to was Nino curling up beside him at night, a soft purring coming from his throat, on the first the captain had stopped himself from reaching out and stroking him like a cat but the second night he had given in running a hand over the Feman’s side, Nino had stiffened for a minute, but then the purrs had gotten louder, some of the men had jumped around staring at them with surprise.
Aiba had cried out in his excitement scaring the Feman until he had darted up a tree and was sat on a branch staring down at them that was also the first night that Matsu noticed the Feman’s eyes gave a glow in the fire light. It had taken awhile for them to convince the Feman to come down and when he did he tucked himself tightly against Matsu and stared at Aiba as if he were a dangerous animal. Matsu had learned that the ‘Magic Men’ were both feared and respected by the Feman, before his home had been attacked both Nino’s mother and older sister acted as ‘Magic women’ to the village, most Magic men and women were good but a lot were considered dangerous. Matsu had to laugh at that, Aiba was more a danger to himself than anyone else let alone the Feman, who was two of his favourite things combined, incredibly cute and like an animal. Nino never spoke to any of the other men, and Matsu found himself fine with that wanting to keep all of Nino’s attention on him.
Nino must have vanished again that night because when Matsu woke there were more of the strange fruits and Nino was bleeding but smiling happily insisting that Master and the others ate. Matsu realised how much the Feman most have gone through to get those that he had and felt guilty that they had eaten so much, Nino had smiled happily going to the river to clean himself, paying attention to his tail. Matsu smiled watching Nino dipping his hands into the water and washing his long tail
“Nino, aren’t you hungry?” He asked coming to sit beside him and although Nino shook his head denying it, his stomach gave a loud rumble contradicting his actions
“Sorry, master” He said rubbing his stomach his cheeks flushing a little “Nino, is fine”
“Don’t lie Nino, you have to eat…” Matsu said holding out the fruit the Feman had given him
“Nino can’t take Master’s food” Nino said backing away, looking almost hurt as he continued “Or Master doesn’t like the food Nino, fetch him?”
“No, I love it, but Nino has to eat too, or Nino will be sick” Matsu said taking out his knife and slicing the fruit. Nino took half nervously and brought it to his mouth a pink tongue darted out, lapping at the juices that were flowing, Matsu found himself copying the Feman and found that the fruit was even tastier than before. After they had eaten, Nino led them through the forest every now and then climbing the tree to get directions it was almost nightfall when they reached a village.
The Femen of the village stared at them with wide, wild eyes, and Matsu almost felt threatened. Nino led them to a large building in the centre of the village and Nino started talking to an old grey Feman, the conversation was too quick for the translator to pick up on but from their body langue it was clear what was happening. Nino’s head was hung, his ears flat on his head and the grey Feman looked angry, snarls and growl were leaving his throat before he came forwards and sliced at Nino’s face with his claws. Nino came to Matsu slowly, trying not to look at the other Femen
“I’m sorry, master, they will not help you we were betrayed by the people in the flying boats, before…”
“Nino, him scratching your face…” Matsu whispered running his fingers near the deep gashes
“It means that I am a betrayer, master, but I will help you… If I can” The Feman smiled, but winced with pain, “And when you fly away can Nino, come?”
