I hate vampires part 8

krystalkatzficzJun growled under his breath pacing around the bedroom. Nino had convinced him to let him have a bath and then had refused to allow him to join him and had gone as far as locking the door. It would be an easy thing to break down the door and drag him out again but he settled for chewing on his fingers and glaring at the door. The bonding was actually completed. It had been 2 weeks, two days and four hours since he had dragged Nino in here and their souls were completely joined…Or at least until the two year heat. The two year heats were a confirmation ceremony in which the submissive mate confirmed that their soul was still connected to their dominant. Jun pressed his head to the door listening to the sounds of Nino splashing around in the bath.

Nino settled back into the bath his eyes flicking closed as he slipped further down into the water allowing it to ripple over his aching body. Every muscle in his lower half ached and throbbed and he was glad that their joining was over and he could get some real rest. Jun had told him that tonight there was going to be a party to celebrate their union and Nino wasn’t sure how that was going to play out since he had pretty much, very unintentionally, stolen the hottest vampire prince there had been for many years and he was a human. Here in there little bubble that was this room that was okay but out there in the real world he knew there was going to be problems. A wave of fear washed over him and all he wanted was to be with his lover he regretted locking the door.
Quickly washing the soap bubbles from his hair he got out of the warm water and hurried out of the bathroom almost colliding with his mate. His head his the solid chest making him see stars and he let out a grunt blinking slowly
“…Sorry…” Jun said grabbing him by arms before he fell and Nino gave him a playful glare and then threw his arms around his neck trying burying his face into his neck as the vampire lifted him up and carried him to the bed. “…Not that I mind the sudden attention but can I ask why you’re feeling worried…?”
“This party and the fact that I’m a human…They’re going to hate me…” Nino mumbled feeling foolish even saying it like nervous child Jun let out a laugh nuzzled at the top of his head whispering
“I will punish anyone that you think is even looking at you strange…”
“I hate vampires and I know that they can barely stand me…” Nino said trying not to show how much that he had enjoyed that statement. Jun’s eyebrows knitted together and he let out a short huffed
“I’m a vampire, in case you’ve forgotten and I love you…”
“That’s because you have to because of the bonding thing…” Nino grumbled his heart fluttering at the statement though he couldn’t believe it, at least not yet, they had been together alone for two weeks during a forced bonding process. It was nice but it couldn’t be love. Jun knelt down in front of him and held his hands staring straight into his eyes obviously picking up on their emotions through their bond
“Bonding states that I have to sleep with you and I will know all about you I choose to fall in love with you…I didn’t have to do that…” The prince whispered kissing the palm of his hand “Would you marry me?”
“Huh…What…I…” Nino stammered fumbling over his words as he tried to process that question. Marriage hadn’t happened since the vampires had taken over. Vampires didn’t get married, not even the ones that didn’t have a soul mate and bond and humans, well they had no other option to just pretty much take what they could get.
“Think about it before you answer…I know it’s an old human custom…”
“…We’re already bonded…”
“But you’re human so we should do it your way too…That won’t prove to you that I do love you but it will show you that I am serious…I hope…”
“You’re weird for a vampire” Nino mused with a smile. He had worked in the palace since he was three years old but it was really rare for him to come into contact with the upper crusts and the ones that he had were completely arrogant arseholes.
“Oh…How I am I weird?” Jun asked softly his eyes sparkly as a smile spread over his lips.
“I thought you would be more…I dunno blood filled, arrogant…” Nino shrugged embarrassed about saying it out loud in front of his mate. Jun gave a hearty laugh shaking his head before asking
“How many vampires do you know personally?”
“Personally…One you…But the others that I’ve met…They were the worst ideas of vampires…”
“And they will all have to bow down before you now…Don’t you understand? You are in one of the eight families…The first human prince…So will you marry me…Or perhaps we should wait until the two year heats…”
“You said that before…” Nino murmured lightly picking up on the three words Two Years Heats wondering what they meant.
“I did, because its important…But not tonight…Tonight is the celebration of our joining…These are for you” Jun said holding up some clothes slowly Nino opened out the expensive fancy silk shirt and black tuxedo with golden sash to go around his middle. It all looked like they had been purposely tailored for him and he cocked his head to one side in astonishment. Jun gave a laugh getting to his feet with more speed than was natural picking up his own clothes which almost matched his but with a dark purple sash “Mama is very good at guessing sizes…”
“You do know that we’re wearing the same clothes right?” Nino grumbled scowling as he tugging on the trousers and the vampire let out a loud laugh already wrapping his purple sash around his slim waist and coming over to help put on Nino’s shirt.
“We’re a couple and tonight there is the party to celebrate that fact…” He said pressing his lips to his cheek “I promise that I won’t make you wear the same clothes as me all the time…”
“I’ll hold you to that…” Nino smiled holding up his arms as Jun placed the shimmering gold sash around his waist fastening it with the solid gold catches. Next there was only the jacket and then a brush through their hair and they were ready standing at the door both seemingly unable to walk through it for a moment.
“Nino…You know tonight I know that you are eager to see your friend again but please be careful I am calmer now but…I would be hard to stop if I thought that…” Jun said and Nino barely heard him as he realised that there was a chance he would be seeing Aiba again.
“Oh crap…” He groaned weakly his eyes snapping closed “I don’t know how I’m going to explain this to him…Any of it…”
“Try honesty that always works…” Jun said holding his hand and taking a breath before walking to the door with a new found determination. Nino found himself being pulled slowly out of the bedroom and down the corridor, his mind going over and over what had happened wondering how Aiba was going to believe it when he didn’t believe it himself. Nino barely saw the stairs that he had worked so hard to clean last two weeks ago but his eyes did focus on the tall slim figure that was standing nervously against the wall when they reached the bottom.
“Aiba?”
“Nino…!” Aiba shouted excitedly running over to him and Nino quickly dodged out of the way before the arms closed around him aware that the vampire was hissing loudly his arms closing around him tightly.
“Aiba stay away!” He growled quickly and Aiba stopped his hands falling down to his sides his face going an ash white as he looked at Jun. surprised that he there was something strange about the clothes that his friend was wearing. They appeared to be brand new and actually fit him much like the clothes that Nino was wearing.
“Sorry, um I didn’t mean too…!” He said with a breathy gasp bowing his head a little and Nino gave a shout when he noticed two marks on his friend’s neck. He knew what they meant; they meant that his friend had become a pet to a vampire. Very few humans made the grade to be pets, most vampires just didn’t value humans enough to take them on, Nino chewed on his lips for something so rare to happen he should have guessed that Aiba would get an owner’ he just hoped that whoever it was, was kind to him.
“What…What are they?” He asked reaching over and almost stroking the marks before Jun grabbed him tightly around the wrist stalling his arm. Aiba rubbed the marks slowly with his fingers and then gave a choked laugh two spots of colour raising in his cheeks
“Oh…Um…Well…I think we might need to talk…Soon…” He said his eyes flicking up to Jun who was had fallen silent but was still flashing his teeth. Nino nodded giving him a weak smile. They all fell into a tense silence that was only by a gonging sound which caused Aiba to give a shout and then apologise running off down the corridor.
“They are making the announcements…My mother and father will be presented and then we will go…” Jun whispered in a hiss not moving his eyes away from Aiba’s retreating back and Nino nodded swallowing and trying to breathe at the same time as nerves clawed at his stomach. There was another gong and Nino knew that it was time.
