krystalkatzficz“Thank-you for agreeing to see me” Jun spoke softly leaning back in the hospital visitors chair his fingers arched in front of his face. He looked haunted and Satoshi wondered how old he was and how many cases he had seen like this. On the bed was photos taken of Kazunari and he avoided looking. He had seen enough when the omega had begged him to stay his eyes wild with fear as he gazed at the two nurses that were trying to capture all the evidence.
“I’m not sure how much help I can be” Satoshi muttered his alpha wanting, needing to go back to the omega cursing him for leaving when the boy was so weak. Jun gave him a tense smile and then lifted a file from the pile on the bed. His name was on the front along with his security photo. His gender status in deep red.
“I asked for your file, you are the only alpha child of the Arashi Matriarch. The strongest Pack in the Northern Japanese territory” Jun looked impressed, but Satoshi gave a bored shrug. He loved both his parents, however he refused to be defined by his pack. His mother had accepted that he wasn’t a good candidate for patriarch when her life ended instead taking on another alpha to be her shadow and Satoshi had felt free to live life without the pressure of the pack.
“Yes, I am. Ohno is my beta mother’s former pack. Forgive me I thought this was about Kazunari. If you want to talk about my mother can we do this some other time”
“No, forgive me, I was surprised at your closeness to an omega that you have only met today. I had to check and see if you had connections to the Ninomiya pack” Jun flashed him an apologetic smile as Satoshi let out a low warning growl repulsed at the idea of having any connection to that pack.
“I have not. My closeness to Kazunari is because I, as an alpha, have imprinted on him and he has on me”
“Which is another reason why I needed to talk to you. Your alpha thinks of the omega as your pack. Alpha instincts, even ones kept sedated by suppressants, run wild when a member of their pack is attacked. I want to make sure that you are not going to do anything stupid”
“As much pleasure it would give me to go to the Ninomiya pack and rip the heads off those that hurt Kazunari I am smart enough to realise that all would happen is I would end up in prison and how would that help? I can assure you, all I am going to do is make sure that Kazunari gets through the next few days, weeks and months. I am going to make sure that he learns that none of this was his fault. You do your job and bring that sick pack to justice and I will do my job of making sure that he comes out of this with some semblance of wanting to live. How many cases like this have you worked on? You look young”
“I’ve worked three cases before, none so bad as this, but I have trained my whole life for this and I will make sure that those responsible will be brought to justice” Jun told him and then to his surprise he started to unfasten his tie and the top few buttons of his shirt. He pushed the fabric aside and Satoshi flinched as he saw mutilated skin over the agent’s mating gland. “I was once in a cult like this one. Not as extreme but my parents gave us to the leader, those that became his mates were branded as such, I was lucky enough to be considered a future mate and was branded as such. Thankfully, I was rescued before that happened. However, as my mating was damaged so young, I never presented biologically I am an omega, but I have never had a heat and I present as a beta”
“I’m sorry” Satoshi breathed not knowing what else to say. His mind was back on Kazunari wondering how his body would cope if it fully stopped working. He had already presented as Omega and had gone through heats, but he was still young, and it was possible that he would adjust and settle as being Beta like Jun.
“I didn’t tell you for sympathy, I told you so you would understand how dedicated to this I am and that I will make sure those that hurt Kazunari will pay for what they have done” The agent closed up his shirt collar and then settled back into the chair. Satoshi gave a slow nod licking at his lips.
“I believe you and I will give you any help that I can. However, Kazunari hasn’t told me much and his grandfather told me even less” Satoshi knew only that Kazunari was convinced that it was all his fault and that he deserved it. He had been there during the examination and knew what he had been through and he was able to make a statement to that but everything else seemed to be…pointless. Jun gave a nod and a weak smile his eyes going back to the photos.
“I understand, but I know that as time goes on, he will talk to you more about what he has been through and I hope that you will tell me”
“I will, I will do anything I can to make sure those that hurt him pay” Satoshi agreed, and Jun’s smile grew as he in turn promised
“And I will make them pay. I also hope that he will over come the damage that he has been through. I…Wouldn’t it be better for him to abort the child?”
“I think at the moment the child is the only thing keeping him alive” Satoshi whispered not sure why he thought it but it was a feeling in the back of his mind. “The child is innocent in his mind, growing up the way that he did he couldn’t hurt the baby”
“I understand, though I wish I didn’t. Can I take your statement now? Even if you are just confirming what I already know, you are a witness” Jun sighed picking up a pen and pressing record on his phone. Satoshi told him everything that had happened in the space of the day. It was difficult, but he kept his tone monotone as he talked about the injuries Kazunari had suffered and his refusal to be treated as he felt that he deserved the pain. “Thank-you, you can go back to him now. You will be travelling with them to the Sakurai pack tomorrow?”
“Yes, I have been granted leave” Satoshi nodded thinking that he should ask Yamapi to go to his apartment and pack him some clothes and things. He should tell his partner anyway and not have the hospital do it for him.
“Then I will know where to find you”
“Yes, I will be there for as long as he needs me. May I ask…Did the ones who abused you get the punishment they deserve?”
“Most of them…All but one. A young alpha he vanished a day before the raid. He was the one who burned my neck and called me a whore. I hadn’t even presented but he knew that I was going to be an omega slut. But I will find him, and he will pay” Jun said his eyes steady and Satoshi knew that he was serious. With another nod he headed back to Kazunari’s room hoping the omega was still sleeping and hadn’t missed him.
