krystalkatzficz Kazunari winced as he shifted in the bed. The medicine the doctor had given him must have worn off a little as sharp pains were running from the small of his back, over his left buttock and down his leg. It felt as though something was trying to escape the skin and he shifted again trying to find a more comfortable spot.
“You okay, Angel?” Satoshi asked from his seat at his side and Kazunari swallowed not wanting to be trouble but feeling as though he should tell the beta.
“My back hurts…It feels like…Something is coming out of my leg and my foot is tingly” He admitted “Sorry, I’ll try and…”
“It sounds like your sciatic nerve. It’s okay, can you roll on to your side for me? Carefully” Satoshi told him gently and though he felt a pulse of nerves he did as he was told hissing as he pulled the back and sent more pain through his leg. “Sorry, I know it hurts, but I can make it feel better…But I have to touch you, just on your back, if you feel even the slightest bit uncomfortable, you tell me, okay?”
“Um…Yeah…” Kazunari nodded gripping at the bed sheets and closing his eyes. Fingers touched him through the robe he had been forced to dress in, but they were gentle moving in slow circles at the sore spot in his back. It hurt worse than ever for a few minutes but after some rubbing and moving of his hips and leg something seemed to shift and he let out a happy moan as the pain reseeded and he was able to fall back onto his back.
“Better, Angel?” Satoshi asked moving back into his seat with a smile on his lips and Kazunari gave a nod his cheeks flushing but he managed to find a smile of his own. He had only known Satoshi for a few hours but something inside told him that the man could be trusted. At least more than anyone else he had known. Satoshi didn’t look at him as though he was something disgusting or with the open lust that many in his pack had done. Perhaps the lure of him wasn’t as strong now he was with child which was why he was safe to be around?
“Yes, thank-you”
“You’re welcome, it happens when you are in one spot for too long and…You damage your hips” Satoshi trailed off and Kazunari felt his ears burn. He didn’t understand everything that the scary doctor had said was wrong with him, but he did know enough that it was a lot. “Have you ever seen a magic trick?”
“Magic…Like witchcraft?”
“No, not at all like witchcraft, it’s just a trick of the eye. I’m not very good, but I’ve been learning…” Satoshi said pulling a pack of cards out from his back pocket and shuffling them. Kazunari stared at them with an open mouth, Patriarch Shin had often said that card games were the devils toy, but Kazunari knew that several members of the pack would get together and play when they thought they could get away with it.
“Sometimes pups get nervous when they are hurt and sick and need to be calmed down. Can I show you a trick? So, you can tell me what you think?”

“I…I could do that” Kazunari nodded nervously looking down at the cards as they were shuffled once more and then held out in a fan like shape.
“Pick a card and look at it, but don’t show me, okay?”
“Okay…” Kazunari nodded seriously taking the card from the right and studying it seriously. It was a strange black shape with the number three on it.
“Remember that card, okay, and slip it back into the deck in a different place from where you took it from” Satoshi told him and Kazunari fixed the card in his mind before pushing it in on the left hand side of the deck. A strange bubble of excitement washed up inside him as he watched the cards being shuffled and then split into three smaller decks. “Pick a deck to get rid of”
“Okay!” Kazunari licked his lip and then pointed to the middle deck. Satoshi smiled and then moved it away before taking the remaining two piles and shuffling them again and once again splitting them down into three.
“Pick two to get rid of” Satoshi told him and Kazunari nodded pointing at the left and the right. They were placed over with the rejected cards and the last few were shuffled. “Okay…Now pick a card but hold it face down onto the bed, don’t look at it…”
“Um…This one” Kazunari took the card and followed the orders exactly his heart humming as Satoshi got rid of the final cards.
“Okay…Turn it over…” Satoshi said and with an excitement that surprised him Kazunari did as he was told eagerly looking for the card with the three and the black shape only to find that it was a heart shape with a two. “Is that your card?”
“Um…Um…I…”
“It isn’t is it? I told you, I’m not very good at all this…” Satoshi sighed and Kazunari swallowed giving him a smile.
“It is my card, I just…Um…Forgot…”
“Forgot? Hmm…I wonder why you forgot…Maybe it was because you had this in your ear” Satoshi’s hand moved to the side of his head and Kazunari winced for just a moment before a playing card with the black shape and three was pulled out of nowhere and waved in front of him. “Ah! See this is your card! No wonder I couldn’t do it when you were keeping it in your ear!”
“How…How did you do that?! You are magic!” Kazunari cried taking the card and staring at it in amazement his eyes shining with excitement. He knew that he should be scared, that he should tell the beta that magic is wrong and that he would be sent to hell, but Satoshi said that he did it for pups to make them less scared, somebody that did that couldn’t be evil and god wouldn’t punish somebody for that. Not somebody as nice as Satoshi
“Nope, it’s all just slight of hand. It’s the only trick I’m good at, but I have a book on others. Would you like me to show you how to do it Angel?” Satoshi offered and Kazunari looked up from the card to stare at the sleepy faced beta gasping in surprise
“You can teach me magic?”
“I can teach you this trick, and then I can let you borrow my book, I have a feeling you’ll be better at it than me in no time”
“I…I’m going with my uncle, I won’t be able to give you the book back” Kazunari answered wishing he could say yes but knowing once he was with his uncles pack he wouldn’t have time for learning magic tricks and Satoshi wouldn’t be there anyway.
“Oh, I forgot to tell you, it’s been decided that I’m coming with you. To help with your medical care, so you won’t be getting rid of me for a while, yet, Angel”

Date: 2020-05-27 02:08 pm (UTC)Btw have you seen them reading the children stories on YouTube? I have enjoyed it so much! They just did a book I had never heard of called Father. Aiba was the narrator and he messed up the demons name almost every time and Nino and Sho would bust out laughing. It was hilarious!
