Kazunari stared at the beta as the words found their way into his numb brain. Alpha Ayame was dead. The words cut him with guilt and sorrow. There had been so many things he had wanted to ask the man, maybe try and understand why Alpha Shin and his mother had a different opinion of his father than Ayame did. Maybe it was only because his father had been Ayame’s pup? You weren’t supposed to see the bad in your own pup, maybe when his time came…When his pup came, he wouldn’t see the reason it was there. He thought that tears should come at the loss of his grandfather but in reality, nothing came. Ayame was dead because of him, he had done it, he had killed him. If he hadn’t been running through the forest in the middle of the night, then…Then…

“Hey, calm down, Angel, I’ve got you…” Satoshi hummed again softly and Kazunari realised that he was breathing sharply, and his body was heaving at an uncomfortably pace. His hands were digging into his stomach his nails pinching so tightly he was drawing blood. “Come on, breathe with me…Just like you did before…In…And out…” Kazunari did as he was bid slowly breathing in an out as directed and after a while his fingers stopped their grip on his stomach, and he looked up at the beta. His face was as kind as ever, as though he wasn’t looking at something disgusting.


“Your uncle wishes to speak with you, do you want him to come in?”

“I…” Honestly, Kazunari couldn’t think of anything he didn’t want more. He didn’t know the full story of his uncle and grandfather, but he did suspect that Sho would be angry with him. He had only just met with his father again, of course he would be angry with him.


“Will…You stay?”

“If that’s what you want, I will stay” Satoshi promised and Kazunari took a deep breath and nodded. He didn’t know why the beta was nice to him, but he would accept it, for now. At his nod Satoshi moved to the door and opened it revealing Sho. The Alpha looked, pale, his eyes red and wet from crying, but he didn’t look angry. He looked concerned and he hurried into the room and took his hand in his.

“Are you okay? How are you feeling? Are you hurt? I mean…Look at you, obviously you’re hurt but…Did you hit your head?”

“I…I don’t…Think so…”

“Thank goodness…” Sho let out a long breath and sank gracelessly into the chair at his bedside. He scrubbed a hand over his face and through his hair before giving him a sad look. “Father…Your grandfather has passed…I…”

“I’m sorry! It’s my fault, if I had stayed…I could have begged for forgiveness…I shouldn’t have…Alpha Ayame…” Kazunari cried out weakly as the alpha paused his voice a choked sob. He tried to wriggle out of the bed and throw himself to the floor to beg forgiveness but Sho shook his head gently holding him down while Satoshi came to stand at his side. The beta’s scent was calming but Kazunari swallowed focusing on his uncle.

“Hush, Child, it wasn’t your fault. My father was not a young man, Kazunari, it is likely not the first heart attack he has had, and the others probably weren’t treated. My belief is you are the only reason he lived for as long as he did. It was peaceful, in my heart I think my mother and brother, your father, came for him. He was smiling at the end happy knowing that you will be looked after…And you will be. Pack Sakurai will be your home, if you want it, your fresh start…”

“Why are you being so nice? I am a male omega, I am disgusting, I will bring nothing but shame…”

“Kazunari, I believe before we return to my pack, I have to tell you. My mate in an omega, a male omega…” Sho said reaching into his pocket and pulling out his phone. Kazunari stared his breathing dying in his throat as Sho pressed some buttons and then turned the phone around. A man was grinning up into the lens, his eyes bright and his smile huge. His hair was silky and flowed in little waves around his oval face. “This is Masaki, my mate…I have no idea what you have been told, child, but not everyone believes that male omega is disgusting and Masaki brings only happiness and joy to my pack. Not shame. Just as you will if you consent to come…”

“…I’ve…” Kazunari didn’t know what he was going to say he reached out and took the phone staring at the man. His thumb accidently moved the picture but only showed more. Hundreds of photos mostly of the same man. In every one Masaki looked happy, his eyes filled with adoration for the man that was taking the pictures. In a few there were other people around Masaki looking at him with happy smiles.

“He is the centre of my pack, if anyone needs help, they go to Masaki…” Sho sounded proud as he said that and Kazunari felt his mouth run dry. His eyes were still fixated on the omega before him trying to understand how he could be so free when he was a monster. A sign of wickedness and sin and the others around him should see that.


“Masaki is the furthest thing from sinful there is” Sho said calmly but firmly and Kazunari felt his cheeks grow warm knowing that he had said the words out loud even though he hadn’t meant to. Sho reached out and took the phone from him grinning goofily at the pictures before putting it back in the pocket. “He is as bright as the sun, and twice as warm. He is currently carrying our first pup, or he would have been here. You have no reason to believe me, your Patriarch believed something and made you believe it too, but the truth of the matter is not everyone believes the things your Patriarch believes…”

“People who have fallen from God’s grace…”

“Perhaps, but maybe you should come and meet us first, before you judge us as damned…” Sho chuckled and Kazunari swallowed. He didn’t have any other options before him and he hoped that maybe within his Uncle’s pack where a male omega was allowed freedom he might find a place where he could earn forgiveness for the sins that he had committed. Sho didn’t know about that however and he wondered if telling him would make him change his mind. It was one thing to be mated and pregnant it was another to be pregnant without a mate.

“…You won’t be as welcoming when you know…I…I am also carrying a pup…”

“You and your pup are most welcome, Kazunari, you are my brother’s pup. My nephew…As for the pup, if you decide to keep it then you can and it will be welcome…” Sho told him shattering the image that he had built up in his head on how the conversation would go. At his words Kazunari gripped his painful stomach again and shook his head saying quickly;

“No…I won’t get rid of it…But I can’t keep it…I don’t want…Alpha Ayame…He spoke of maybe giving it to somebody…Somebody not tainted by my sin”

“Then if that’s what you want, that’s what we’ll do…” Sho stopped speaking as a knock sounded on the door and then a woman came in wearing a white coat.

“I’m here to check on Kazunari…If you’re busy…”

“No, it’s fine…I have…Paperwork I have to fill in and arrangements to make…Think about it Kazunari…”

“I will... Come... Thank you... " Kazunari whispered almost brokenly knowing he had no other choice.

I can’t wait for nino to meet Aiba..... how is ohno going to stay in the story? Maybe Kazu needs a friend and he trusts ohno even though he’s not what he seems

I'm sure once Nino starts learning the true nature of how real people are he will go though many emotional turns. I mean to find out everything you've ever been taught is a lie.....that's going to be rough. Hopefully Sho will recognize how much Nino trusts Ohno in their short time together and invite him to see him. Will Ohno tell Sho he's an alpha? That's an interesting question. When and who will he tell first? Or will someone find out first and get mad? Very interesting. Masaki is going to knock Ninos world upside down....lol. Ohno should take him to an arcade.😊💙💛
