krystalkatzficz“Sunshine? What do you need?” Satoshi asked as they went into the tiny office that was really more of a storeroom. Although he ran and owned Arashi as well as owning the second club in Tokyo he had never been management minded. His employees were paid well, their taxes were done on time and accurately, but he had never been a sit behind the desk type. He liked serving drinks and being in the club even if it sometimes gave him a headache. Now though he suspected that Nino needed somewhere private. It was rare for him to ask and unnerving to see him peering at him with a serious expression on his face.
“Come with us tomorrow, we are going to see Ryo and Tada, convince them that I’m not a complete waste of space and hopefully get them to give Black Magic…Or me a second chance” Nino mumbled softly scratching at the back of his neck looking so nervous and young that Satoshi just wanted to hold him. Nino always walked around as though the weight of the world was on his shoulders and Satoshi wished he could help ease that, at least for a while. “I was fine going with Sho to see Kame cause…Cause he was always more my friend but Ryo…Kame said he punched Jun, but they were always friends”
“Even friends wouldn’t like what Jun did to you, Nino. I know you think you forced him, and I admit that you are both messed up, but he was an adult, he could have told you. Inviting her to the show and having you find out like that…” Satoshi cut himself off feeling anger curling inside of him. In his heart he could understand why Jun had felt trapped, unable to tell Nino that he wasn’t in love with him, but he would always be forever angry that Nino had been hurt like that. “Of course, I will be there…”
“Thank you” Nino smiled and then moved forwards wrapping his arms around him while pressing his face into his chest. Satoshi chuckled and then wrapped his arms around him holding him as tightly as he dared. “…I think I need…If I’m gonna be doing Black Magic, I think I’m gonna need a therapist again…”
“Are you sure?”
“No, but…More than Black Magic, I want to get better…For you, I want to love you…The way you deserve, that means coming to terms with everything that bastard put me through” Nino growled and Satoshi let his heart swoop with joy. The sheer fact that Nino even wanted think about this meant the world to him, but he didn’t want to hurt him by having him relive all of that. “Don’t ask me if I’m sure, I’m not sure, and I am gonna be weak as all hell and hate myself for ages but…All my songs are about getting better, how can I sing that to kids if I’m not even willing to try?”
“You are a wonderful human, Sunshine, and whatever you need I will be right there beside you” Satoshi promised surprised when Nino moved up and pressed a small kiss to his Adam’s apple. This moment of intimacy was not something he had expected after confessing to his Sunshine. It was better than he could have imagined, and he wanted to enjoy it. He knew that there were going to be low days, but he would happily have them for warm moments like this.
“I know, thanks old man” Nino rubbed his nose against his chest his fingers curling into the shirt he was wearing. “You are…Well you know…Umn…Are you gonna explain the marriage? You and Rina? I mean, you say you love me, but…You and Rina…”
“Rina is my best friend. We have been friends since we were very young children. She has as much interest in men as I do women” Satoshi explained though he wasn’t sure if that was the case. He had had no interested in either gender until he had met Nino. “But her father is very sick. He has had an aggressive cancer for years but as managed to beat it every single time. Then he had an accident that left him confined to a wheelchair. He is a wonderful man, but he is old, and he would not accept his daughter liking other women. I never thought I would fall in love and Rina being my best friend I asked her to marry me…It gave him the wedding he wanted for her. We thought it would only be for weeks or maybe even months. He has proven doctors wrong time and time again, so we stayed married”
“He believes it?” Nino asked sounding sceptical and Satoshi couldn’t blame him. He was positive that the old man didn’t believe it, but it was a comforting lie for him.
“I don’t think so, not really, but there’s no harm. It seems that this time though he is not going to make it…”
“You really do save everyone you meet, don’t you?” Nino chuckled sounding wet as he wrapped his arms more snuggly around his neck and pressed his chest against his. Their bodies swayed for a minute to music that only they could hear, and Satoshi smiled his nose and mouth buried into Nino’s hair. “You are the best of men. Are you sure you wanna waste yourself on waiting for me?”
“Sunshine, I am certain” Satoshi promised, and Nino let out a soft sound stopping their swaying before taking a step back and looking him in the eye. His cheeks were a little warm and pink and his eyelashes were a little wet, but he was smiling.
“You are a perfect guy. I will try and not make you wait too long”
“Take as long as you need. I’m going nowhere. I’m not going to change my mind” Satoshi would have said more but, after biting his lower lip for a moment, Nino moved forward and pressed the smallest of kisses to the corner of his mouth. It was soft, barely there even, but it was warm and real.
“This is okay?”
“Yeah, it’s more than okay” Satoshi agreed, and Nino gave a smile kissing him again before squeezing his hand as he cleared his throat.
“I should go…Um clear the stage…I will see you later…Old Man…” He whispered ducking his head shyly before almost vanishing out of the small office. Satoshi thought that he should be worried but there was something calm about Nino as he left and he couldn’t focus on anything but the two small kisses he had been given long after they had happened. Even when he was serving he would find himself grinning and touching his lips where Nino had kissed him. His Sunshine had gone up to the apartment with Masaki to write more on their song and he was extremely glad that Nino wasn’t out here trying to catch the attention of another guy.
“You are creepy smiling again” Rina said nudging him in the back with her elbow a knowing look in her eyes and a smirk on her lips. “Something happened, with Nino…You sly old dog! You should have told me!”
“Look, nothing really happened, we just have an understanding…Nino isn’t ready, and I will not push him…”
“Of course you wouldn’t, but I am so incredibly happy for you! But you’re being creepy, you should go upstairs and grin to yourself I will finish up here”
“I can do it”
“No, you are going with them tomorrow right? They are leaving early, go sleep” Rina almost pushed him out from behind the bar and Satoshi knew better than to argue. She could handle herself and he really could use some time alone to think about things. He headed up to the apartment surprised to find it silent deciding that Nino and Masaki must have had the same idea of turning in early. He headed to his own bedroom and was just shrugging out of his clothes when he saw Nino curled up on his bed.
“Sunshine? Are you okay?”
“Yeah, I just…Can I sleep in here?” Nino asked and Satoshi gave a smile heading to the bed and laying down beside him. He didn’t touch him, not until Nino turned around and shuffled into him and he let out a shaky breath his arm wrapping lazily around his waist. “Thanks…”
“You’re welcome, Sunshine, sleep well”
